    General Tso's white meat chicken
    Stephen G.

A reasonable sit-down restaurant if you are looking for Chinese food or sushi in Robinson. I ordered the white meat General Tso's chicken. It was standard Americanized Chinese food, nothing special but nothing to complain about either. The portion size was relatively large and there was a lot of white rice that came with it (in a cup on the side). Efficient is how I would best describe the service. My water was consistently refilled (small cups), and the food came out promptly. I would not expect to have any conversation with the wait staff when visiting. This was on the pricier side. While a step up in terms of quality from Panda Express or the places in the nearby mall, it was nearly twice the price. On a scale of 1-5: Food - 4 Service - 3 Price - 3

This is the best sushi in Pittsburgh. I've tried many different spots and this one is the best. They have generous portions, and they even give you a little bowl for your soy sauce takeout. Just thoughtful people. Amazing sushi. Great prices too. Quick service! Can't say enough good things about this spot.

Ya fei is my favorite Chinese in Pittsburgh! So much to choose from and everything is amazing! From the sushi, to the apps and entrees, you can't go wrong. The service is great and the owners make you feel like family. This establishment has been around for years and there's a reason why!

I ordered takeout from here. One of the stars is for the polite front of house and my order being ready when I picked up. The 2nd star is for the portion size in relation to the value - There is a lot of food! I just cannot give any stars for the food being tasty. The tofu had good texture, but that was about where it ended. The kung pao sauce had 0 flavor.. No garlic or spice at all, just brown sauce with some peanuts in it. Scallion pancake was undercooked and was not flaky. I ate the food because I was hungry and I paid for it, but I would not come back here.

The food was good. Both the Mongolian Flank steak & General Tso's chicken were a touch too sweet for our taste. But still a good meal. There were tons of tofu cubes in the Miso soup. I almost filled up on just that. The service was great. I studied the Yelp menus but when we showed up at lunch time the Mongolian wasn't an option on the lunch menu. The server said he'd have the cook make it for me anyway. The temperature of the restaurant was a little too warm for my liking and the atmosphere & decor was dim and could use a facelift. I'm still planning to go back to try the red curry (also not on the lunch menu).

Great customer service and convenient for the Robinson area. This place always has new featured foods every time we come here. The young lady who served us was very informative and tentative to our needs.

Been to this cute little place a few times & each time it's pretty good! We always get the wonton soup and pork fried dumplings which are good. This time we each tried a new dish, garlic chicken for me & sweet & sour chicken for my sister. The garlic chicken was good but spicy! And my sister wasn't a fan of the sweet & sour chicken, but I think it's because she is used to less sauce & no fruit. I am not a fan of this dish regardless but i did like the chicken! Aside from the food the service was great! Very kind & attentive!

Ya Fei is a locally owned Chinese restaurant that my family and I eat at very often. We have tried a handful of their menu options and a majority of their sushi rolls and it never seems to disappoint. My personal favorite is the fried rice, whether it is vegetable or shrimp. They are flavorful and full of veggies. Their sushi is also extremely tasty. I believe it is better than other surrounding sushi restaurants. Our rolls are always fresh and delicious. The owners are very sweet and willing to help. The employees are very hard working and will do anything needed to make your dinner the best it can be. Overall, I definitely recommend Ya Fei to anyone looking for a yummy Chinese dinner!

I've been generally impressed by the quality of the sushi. We ordered takeout this time, and everything was extremely well packaged and presented. In terms of the food, we focussed on fairly standard maki rolls: a spicy salmon roll and a spicy California roll. Both were very nicely done. We also tried the veg farm roll, and that was a nice vegetable forward option. Not life changing, but nicely done. We also opted for a vegetable poke bowl, and that was also good. Basically the same combination of vegetables as the veg farm roll, but in a bowl format. The bowl was good, but it was lacking some sort of sauce or glaze that might have pulled things together. It was easy enough to toss on some condiments of our own, but the bowl could have been better. Overall, I this is my favorite sushi destination in Squirrel Hill. It's very clear that the owners are invested in turning out a high quality experience, and that's exactly the type of business I like to support.

Our server, Cat, was knowledgeable, attentive, and immediately picked up on our social cues, blending in to the chitchat we enjoy, while we could hear her behind us giving another table the alone time they preferred. She is the best server I have experienced in a long time. I heard her tell another table that her whole family is in the restaurant business, and her comfort and skill with every table made that abundantly clear. Too bad we were not hungry enough to order more, because everything was fantastic. We had the chef's selection of sashimi and of sushi (two different dishes) and a takoyaki appetizer. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the different sauces on the nigiri and sashimi elevated the fish in amazing ways. Of course, all of this joy is just highlighted by the incredible three-river view, which my wife said was a great way to start her weekend here. What a great place! I asked our waiter if the portion size of chirashi was good and he said it's a good size and that they have carry out boxes if I don't finish. Tell me why this was the smallest chirashi I have ever seen anywhere. The slices of fish were thinner than the sliced ginger. If you stacked all of the slices, it would make a normal size of one piece of nigiri. The slice of tuna was so thin, you could see through it, much less taste it. I was still starving after and got the fried chicken nuggets which were a good portion, with good crunch. The sauce on the chicken was devoid of flavor except for the SALT. They were even able to take the chicken flavor away from the meat which is kind of an accomplishment in itself. My friend got the Sichuan pork dumplings and the dumplings were drowning in soy sauce so much so that you couldn't taste the Sichuan spice (if there was any). There's a sushi restaurant nearby that gives me food poisoning every time I eat there and I would have much rather have eaten there than Soba. I would definitely recommend this place to my enemies because they'll leave broke and still hungry.
