The spring rolls are the best I have had anywhere. Combo meals are fairly priced. Owners are so kind. I'm handicapped and cowpin always holds the door for me read more

Very friendly. Good food. Competitive prices. Not a great eat in environment, but seems geared towards take out.

While we usually order from Sesame Inn, we decided to try something different... and will likely not be trying the food there again. While the food was ready quickly and the prices are very affordable, I was extremely disappointed with the meals. I ordered a stir fried general tsos chicken meal and received the regular fried general tsos. The chicken was very mushy, with so much breading, I could barely eat it. The only redeeming item for me was the wonton soup, but I feel like that's just something you can't mess up. read more

Love their sesame chicken and lo mein. Wonderful people with great food. Only wish I knew when they are closed. Sometimes I show up disappointed they are closed for unknown reasons. read more

Great food made fresh! Will definitely go back! Nice service and great value! I had the pork Mei Fui and it was really good!

This is a legit Chinese spot to go to in the area. Always fresh food and dependable when you need a quick fix. Recommend: Chicken & Shrimp LoMein General Tso Chicken Won Ton Soup Chicken & Broccoli (with brown sauce) Salt & Pepper Shrimp I usually get Mongolian beef at my go to Chinese establishments. Tried it here and it was the only disappointing dish i've had from there. It has celery, green bell peppers, baby corn, and carrots in addition to the normal fixings of green onions and onions. it doesn't taste like a mongolian beef should, but it wasn't bad by any means read more

China Express - Mongolian Beef - not your traditional Mongolian beef. Has Carrots, Celery, and Green Bell Peppers. - Chinese Near Me - Canonsburg, Pennsylvania

I had the sweet and sour pork, pork fried rice, hot and sour soup, and an egg roll. Wife got sesame chicken and fried ride and it was all delicious. The owner/cook is very nice and the portions were pretty large. I will definitely be back! read more

China Express - the entrance to a chinese restaurant - Chinese Near Me - Canonsburg, Pennsylvania

Really good food, really nice owners, and really great service!! I really recommend the general tso tofu.

I would give this 3.5 stars if that was an option! This is pretty solid Chinese food, but nothing too special. I got the chicken lo mein and a spring roll for delivery for lunch. The noodles were pretty good, they taste like exactly what you're expecting when you order chicken lo mein. The spring roll was crunchy and delicious and again, exactly what I expected it to taste like. Definitely will try this place again with more items, better than any other Chinese options in this area of the South Hills. read more

I love this little place. The food is really good, and the family service is tremendous. Portions are great for either lunch or dinner, and you can't beat the price. Definitely recommend if you need a quick Chinese food fix! read more

one of my top favorite places to get take out. family owned place, with the sweetest woman who works the front. always pretty fast with my order and prices arent bad either. love it!! read more

This is a very up and down place and this review will try to cover both the ups and the downs. The basic premise of the place is fast take out. In many ways, it reminds me of places I've visited in the outer boroughs of New York City. Upon entering the space, you see a few small tables at which you can sit. While I suppose you could eat your food here, it appears to be mostly space to allow people to wait for the food to be cooked and turned over. The main counter goes across most of the space, with a small gap to allow the staff to come in and out. Above the counter are photos of what some of the dishes are supposed to look like. These are clearly stock photos and have nothing to do with what the place offers. When you stand at the counter, you can see straight through to the back so you can view all the action in the kitchen. During my visit, the cook was working the woks and a woman was taking orders and bagging them. There is a stack of paper menus on the left side of the counter, so I used one of them to decide on what to get. The first upside was that they have a variety of different fillings for their egg rolls. Vegetarian, and chicken based egg rolls are always available as are shrimp ones. The first downside was that they came out very greasy - I mean after taking a bite, oil rolled out of the egg roll, rolled down my hand and dripped on to the plate! We also tried their hot and sour soup. A generous portion of it could not make up for the complete lack of any kind of heat. Unlike most of these offerings around the area, this one seemed to have more carrots than I've ever seen leaving the impression of this soup being orange in color (see the photos I uploaded to get a sense of what I mean). The next dishes we tried were the Garlic Chicken and the Ginger Chicken. On the menu, one is listed in red ink which is supposed to denote that it has some spice to it. You really have to look carefully to determine which is which. Both dishes had the exact same cuts of chicken and same collections of vegetable ingredients. If you really looked carefully, you could see strands of ginger in the one, and some small polka dots in the other. Flavor wise, they were very very similar, with the polka-dotted one being sweeter. Spice? What spice? The final upside was that they have something that they call "sesame balls". I asked what those were and was gratified to hear that they were red bean paste filled buns that are then coated in sesame seeds and fried. These were absolutely excellent! Even though they were also fried, they were totally not greasy unlike the egg rolls. So, what do I make of this place? It basically offers the same things as most every other American-Chinese restaurants and is hardly distinguishable from their competitors. If it's more convenient for you to get takeout from here, than that could be what determines your choice. I am not sure why they do not offer delivery service, but they do not. As the rating shows, it's OK, but nothing special. read more

See all

Been living down the street from these folks for 5 years and we've been a customers since we moved in. These are some of the nicest folks you can ever meet. We ordered once and they remembered us from that time forward. We always get what we order, portions are big and the food is always good. Highly recommend these guys for good quality Chinese. read more

This place has changed hands since my last review, and things went downhill fast after that. While the menu is the same, the people cooking are not doing a good job. The food is heavy and way too greasy. I thought at first that the original owners were on vacation, and this was corraborated by the man I spoke with, although we both may have just been victims of a language barrier. Anyway, it looks like the old guard is gone and the new is here to stay, and that's bad news for this establishment. Alas. read more

Really great Chinese food! The general Taos chicken, steamed dumplings and chicken lo mein are amazing!!

We always enjoy some China express. Always consistent. Food comes out insanely hot. Stays hot till you get home.

Middle of the road Americanized Chinese food. I've gotten takeout from here several times and have been pleased with the quality and prompt preparation. It won't be the best Asian food you've ever had, but it's consistently good, convenient, and reasonably priced. The family that runs the place seem like very pleasant people, so we try to support them when in town visiting family. read more

Always accommodating. My go to for American/Asian fast food. Reasonably priced, made to order and fast. The husband/wife owners do it all, from cooking, ordering, answering phones and washing dishes. Very eager to make sure customers have their food prepared exactly how they prefer. Me? My fave is "Sautéed Vegetables". However, I like added ginger, hot chili garlic sauce, tofu, and a topping of stir fried peanuts. Ask and you shall receive! My lunch of a large plate of veggies with tofu, fried rice and a beverage is $6.50. DONE! All served with a smile in under 10 mins of walking through the door! They are closed on Sunday. read more

This was a great find! We order a lot of take-out from several different places and this is the newest addition to our list. It looks fine to eat-in there but it seems to be mainly take-out. I'm giving it 5 stars not because it's an upscale, mainly eat-in Chinese restaurant, but because it is exactly what it is meant to be. It's delicious food, prepared fresh, good prices, and friendly personal service. We ordered several main meals, both meat and vegetarian ones, and a few sides our first time here. Everyone loved their food. It was a nice surprise to find it was somewhat different from other similar take-out places we use, for example Bean Curd. I'd say one particular thing that stood out was the veggies. They were fresh, had a good variety, and not mushy. We'll definitely be ordering from here again soon. read more

Wow... I won't be going to any other Chinese restaurant in Peters now. First experience was fantastic. This Chinese food is cooked in front of your face. No frozen, MSG filled cheap processed food here!! We will be forever loyal customers now! Well done! read more

It took a couple of months for the new owners to get settled in at the China Express. Now, it is a great take-out place. It is best to call ahead, especially in the evening around 6:00 since their popularity has grown. We have been there several times and have found the owner and his wife to be friendly and accommodating. The shrimp dishes are one of my favorites. read more

Portions are nice, and it seems to be fresh food. Ive tried the gen Tso chicken and Ko Bo gia Ding, all pretty tasty.

I just moved to the area and after trying the other Chinese food establishments nearby this one is my favorite. It's not a big operation, I only ever see the same two people, but they are both nice and the food is prepared consistently. I can vouch for the general tso's shrimp and chicken, the amazing chicken, the crab rangoon, and pan fried dumplings. The one major drawback of this place is that they don't deliver but I find it to be worth the drive. read more

I order from here a few times a month and the food is always outstanding. The dumplings are delicous, their general tsos chicken and lomein are always spot on. (Their pork is definitely better than the competition, I'm very picky with pork). This is my favorite Chinese in the area and the other local places which I have frequented don't come close. 10/10 will eat here again. read more

If you're looking for fast Chinese food with lots of flavor, this is your place. The General Tso's is tangy with the perfect amount of spice. The owners are very friendly and genuinely care about cooking great food! Would highly recommend for a "don't feel like cooking" kind of night. read more

I checked this place out four times after staying locally. Four times you say? You must have liked it. Not really I LOVED it! The soups are made from the freshest, genuine stock base, not that stuff from a can or box here, the best hot and sour soup I have ever tasted. Delicious fried appetizers, and beautifully crafted main dishes. While this is a small establishment, it is well decorated and neat as a pin and the staff are truly charming. If I only lived nearby this would be a regular stop for me, unfortunately, I can only visit every now and again. Please take my word for it and break away from those buffets and enjoy some food made with love and care. ENJOY!!! read more
