Crab Rangoons and Egg Drop Soup

Sesame Inn is a great spot to settle down and eat in all the madness of McKnight Rd. The portions are decent sized and the food quality has always been great. The sushi is good quality, just a limited menu. Service is always friendly and attentive. Ambiance is relaxing and it's always clean.

Sesame Inn restaurant and bar serves Chinese, Japanese, and Thai foods. For a few years, I have been a customer of Sesame Inn for delivery and for dining in, and I agree with the current Yelp average of 3.7 stars. Please note that this restaurant recently moved to a nicely renovated space in The Block Northway. For me, the employees' service has been prompt and friendly. Prices are reasonable. Here are my ratings for our foods: Crab-rangoon - 3.5 stars Tuna-avocado Roll - 4 stars Chicken Mussaman - 4 stars Moo-Shu Chicken - 4 stars Teriyaki Chicken - 3.5 stars Salmon Avocado Roll - 4 stars Orange Chicken - 3.5 stars Chicken Kung Pao - 3.5 stars Beef Lo Mein - 3.5 stars

We never went to the original location, but this location has great decor and is a big space! I got the wonton soup...great! We shared the beef fried rice and two sushi rolls. Everything was really good. The fried rice needed a little more soy sauce for us but the sushi tasted very fresh.

I've been a fan of Sesame Inn for a long time. I always have a good experience and the food is delicious. I recently visited their new location in the Block at Northway. Service was a bit slow, but the food was tasty as always. I was in the mood for sushi so I went with a spicy tuna roll, eel and avocado roll, and a yellowtail avocado roll. All were tasty. Also had their famous "amazing chicken".... It was amazing. Overall, great place. Can't wait to come back soon.

The soft opening at the Block has had an overwhelming response. They are still waiting on their liquor license to transfer. Same great staff. Same menu. Same great atmosphere in a new and improved setting. The staff are still adapting to the new technology and layout. It looks like there will be an ordering kiosk available outside of the restaurant. Lots of parking.

Pork dumplings, Sesame Chicken, Beef Lo Mein, and Kung Pao Chicken

Probably the best "American" style Chinese food spot in the North Hills, and that still stands up even after their relocation to the Northway Block! I've gotten their takeout a few times, from both the former and current locations, and each time the service has been prompt and right on target. The portions are large, the food is hot and flavorful, and they have a nice extensive menu with lots of options. I'm especially a fan of their chicken and eggplant, kung pao chicken, beef lo mein, amazing chicken, and pork with garlic sauce (as well as the steamed pork dumplings and egg rolls). They hit all the right notes of comfort food. While I haven't dined in at their new space, it does look beautiful inside!

Hot and Sour soup Very good!

I visited this place again at their new location. It's more beautiful than the previous one. With some Asian decoration which gives it a nice ambiance. The service was timely and friendly. I ordered my favorite dishes: sour and spicy soup and Peking Duck. Both were delicious. The service forgot to bring the sauce. I had to remind him. Otherwise the service was nice and attentive. I enjoyed my visit.

Amazing Duo

Very good Chinese food! I love their amazing duo (chicken & shrimp). Service is always good and their new location is super nice inside! Wish you could get a side of lo mein noodles instead of the rice though. We tried the Sesame Noodles and didn't love them.

Dropping by getting quick bite and this place is good , it has a bar place. They have lunch special for a good portion. Service is good as well. Ambience it's a quiet and casual wear.

Each time I went, the place was busy with smiling customers. I attached pics of what I ordered; service is constantly prompt, and both times, the food came out quickly. Each and every item that I tried here has been tasty. The prices are reasonable & the portion sizes are very generous. I can't wait to explore the menu!

But lo and behold, tucked in between Forbes and Fifth, is a small little restaurant called Bao. My assumption was that a place called Bao would have bao. I assumed correctly; Bao indeed has bao. Bao bao bao bao bao. There, I got it all out of my system. I was slightly concerned with the pictures, as the bao looked on the smaller size, but was pleased to find that the bao was a nice plump size. I went for the steamed bao with braised pork. Tender and flavorful with a dumpling dough that wasn't too heavy or too light. There's five per order so they definitely work as a good lunch for one or a sharable for two or three. The dipping sauce was good too but the bao was so good it didn't even need it. This place is on the way back from a weekly appointment of mine so I'll definitely be back... and I won't scarf it down so fast I forget to take pics!

We stopped in for a quick & light lunch so I can't speak to the buffet or any of the chicken dishes I see being plated for takeout. Takeout boxes were being plated from buffet bar. It seemed to attract a lot of nearby people on their lunch breaks as well as students. I went in late December so it wasn't too busy and I found parking around the corner. I was seated and browsed through the menu. I ended up ordering: - Warm HK milk tea: I found this overly sweet overwhelming the milk tea - Pork with egg: This was under the HK menu with the char siu, crispy duck, and chicken option. What I got was not what I was expecting (char siu and boiled egg). The plate was more egg drop soup with pork and peas. It also had a sweet flavor. - Dim sum for one: Sui mai was decent. Har gao was off. They must have put something meant for the dessert dumpling into it. Coconut didn't have the mochi consistency I was expecting. It was very soft, not at all sticky or chewy. Staff was really nice. I just didn't enjoy my meal, unfortunately.
