    Garlic Chicken

Chinatown Inn IS the best spot for Chinese food in the city! It is consistently amazing. The best hot & sour soup I've tasted in my life! My go to is the garlic chicken, but | really need to try the other samplings on the menu. Chinatown Inn is my favorite Chinese restaurant hands down!

I recently ordered takeout with a few coworkers for lunch. We were able to place the order online and it was delivered to our office in about 30 minutes. I ordered the Szechuan vegetables lunch special. I had a choice of rice (white rice) and either soup or an egg roll (I chose egg drop soup). The portion was the perfect size for lunch and the veggies were so good!! The staff here are always so nice too.

The food was amazing! The portions were plentiful and delicious! We could have easily shared one meal and had plenty. The service was very family oriented and friendly. The story of the resturant was very interesting, being the last of original place in the China town district. The place was buzzing take away orders and customers who waved and called the hostess by name. It is well worth a visit for a number of reasons.

Great old-school Chinese restaurant in downtown Pittsburgh, the last remaining vestige of Pittsburgh's Chinatown from generations ago (run by descendants of the original owners I understand?) The service first off is super-efficient. They seat you, take orders, and deliver food pretty quickly. The food itself is pretty good, standard Chinese food fare. The eggroll was hot and crispy, with a savory, almost nutty vegetable filling. The kung pao (bow?) chicken was great - plenty of sauce, peanuts, and heat. The portion size won't leave you going hungry. Decor inside is cool (reminds me of Chinese restaurants I ate at from my childhood). Five stars.

The food service and ambiance is always great here. We were seated quickly. Our food came out quickly and the taste is always on point. You must try one of their famous eggrolls when you visit.

This is a true old school Chinese restaurant. To my knowledge this is also the last remaining piece of Chinatown existing in Pittsburg. The place is a blast from the past in its inside and that works because it feels like home. We went for lunch and it was fantastic. Food was full of flavor and piping hot. The worst part was them being closed till 2pm Sunday so had to find another place to eat. We walked out stuffed and for a bargain

My husband and I had a great dinner at Chinatown Inn, the last remaining piece of Pittsburgh's original Chinatown--and it's full of charm and history. From the moment you walk in, the warmth of the decor instantly welcomes you. You can feel the history in the walls. We started with the wonton soup, which was cozy and flavorful, with soft, pillowy wontons and fresh scallions. I had a crispy, golden egg roll packed with veggies, while Scott enjoyed the honey sesame chicken--sweet, sticky, and satisfying. I tried the Mongolian beef and loved the mix of tender meat, baby corn, mushrooms, and crunchy peppers. The Singapore Sling was fruity and fun, and the complimentary hot tea was a nice touch. Service was fast and super friendly. Portions are very nice at a great price. This spot is one of my favorites to bring anyone new to town to. Definitely worth a visit if you're downtown!

I have been coming to Chinatown in for decades today I ordered shrimp fried rice service was subpar. There were no utensils in the bag strike number 1 which led to strike number 2. Home is 25 minutes away so almost and hour back and forth. I arrive home 11 Miles 25 minutes later to find shrimp fried rice without eggs. Now I have to drive back 11 Miles 25 minutes and wait for them to do the order correctly strike #3 and now I have to return home 11 miles 25 minutes no compensation not even as much as an apology

I'm so glad this place is downtown! Downtown doesn't have a lot of variety when it comes to food and I'm glad there's a decent Chinese spot. Service and food is really fast and there was no wait on a Thursday night. The place is large and can handle large groups. We got the sweet and sour pork and the Szechuan chicken. It was pretty good! They came with rice and when you sit down, they also give you Chinese tea which is nostalgic for me. Definitely coming back to try other dishes since I know it's a lot of people's favorite spot downtown! I hear the lunch specials are great too.

But lo and behold, tucked in between Forbes and Fifth, is a small little restaurant called Bao. My assumption was that a place called Bao would have bao. I assumed correctly; Bao indeed has bao. Bao bao bao bao bao. There, I got it all out of my system. I was slightly concerned with the pictures, as the bao looked on the smaller size, but was pleased to find that the bao was a nice plump size. I went for the steamed bao with braised pork. Tender and flavorful with a dumpling dough that wasn't too heavy or too light. There's five per order so they definitely work as a good lunch for one or a sharable for two or three. The dipping sauce was good too but the bao was so good it didn't even need it. This place is on the way back from a weekly appointment of mine so I'll definitely be back... and I won't scarf it down so fast I forget to take pics!

It seemed to attract a lot of nearby people on their lunch breaks as well as students. I went in late December so it wasn't too busy and I found parking around the corner. I was seated and browsed through the menu. I ended up ordering: - Warm HK milk tea: I found this overly sweet overwhelming the milk tea - Pork with egg: This was under the HK menu with the char siu, crispy duck, and chicken option. What I got was not what I was expecting (char siu and boiled egg). The plate was more egg drop soup with pork and peas. It also had a sweet flavor. - Dim sum for one: Sui mai was decent. Har gao was off. They must have put something meant for the dessert dumpling into it. Coconut didn't have the mochi consistency I was expecting. It was very soft, not at all sticky or chewy. Staff was really nice. I just didn't enjoy my meal, unfortunately.
