The menu had many of the expected food items as well as others not so common. On Saturday and Sunday there are many, many more. I always start with vegetable spring rolls. These were especially good. Also had the tasty pancake beef rolls. Will stop again next time we are near the McCandless Ross Townships border. The restaurant is bright, cheery, and clean. No dim sum carts however. Ample parking abounds in the McIntyre Square complex.

We ordered takeout this time, and the overall experience was great. We placed an order online, and everything was very neatly packaged and ready to go when expected. The food even travelled fairly well, such that it was still in good shape after traveling home. The restaurant itself is in a bit of a drab strip mall, but it's generally nicely decorated with colorful signage and a nicely kept interior. In terms of the food, the shrimp spinach dumplings were really nicely done, with lots of flavor and texture. My partner especially enjoyed the barbecue pork bao, which were nicely steamed with a very flavorful filling. The egg tart was good, but not really my thing. It had a bit of a caramelized sugar flavor reminiscent of waffles with syrup. The spicy oil splashed noodles, one of the noodle dishes on the menu, was generally lacking: some nice toppings, but not much flavor. Overall, this is a nice little place that seems to be fairly well run. I suggest going for the dim sum and giving up on expectations for anything on the menu that isn't dim sum. Find another restaurant for your main course.

While I felt like the original location was slightly better with the overall flavors, this place was pretty darn good. Service was friendly and decent too. The menu is PACKED with many authentic items, so much to choose from, but be sure to use the Chinese menu, not the American menu. The meats in our food choices were tender and fresh... same with the veggies. The flavors were very nice and spice level was low when I asked for "regular" level of spicy, so if I came back, I'd ask for a little more heat. We enjoyed most everything was got - The Dan Dan Noodles were basic, tho flavored nicely, they were like an "Asian spaghetti" so they weren't as good as they should have been. The cucumbers were boring, they definitely needed to have smashed garlic sauce and hot peppers added to the flavor from the kitchen, not just me adding heat at the table. The cumin beef was so tender and tasty! But needed more spice. The scallion pancakes were the best I've had yet! Their garlic sauce that came with the scallion pancakes was so incredibly tasty and those pancakes were flakey and done so nicely! For wok'd greenbeans, the only option was to get their stringbeans and pork and ask for no meat, but add spice - this worked PERFECTLY and they wok'd them right! Overall, it was a very nice visit and despite my opinion on the lack of depth of flavor and heat, this place would definitely satisfy most - So Go, give them a try!!

The menu is very extensive and has both American and authentic Chinese food. The portions are very large and you get a lot of food for the price you way. The price is also very reasonable. The food also comes out very quickly. The food was very good and very fresh. Just be warned that their cucumber salad is just cucumbers (there's no rice vinegar, sesame oil, or soy sauce), this was a let down. But the scallion pancakes and string beans were very good. The service though was a little frustrating. It took a while for a waiter to come to our table. We also had a couple of different waiters because we weren't understood and had to do a lot of pointing at the menu. Aside from that, I'm really happy that this restaurant is on McKnight!

It did look like something out of a movie scene, and it was extremely busy due to it being a Saturday night. Our server was this sweet lady who had tons of large party groups. She got us our water and took our appetizer orders. We got the Vegetable and Shrimp egg rolls, and they are on the larger side, so order 1 if it's just you. My sister and I split it one and were happy with that. The egg rolls come with sweet and sour sauce and a wasabi/horseradish dipping sauce. I could smell it for days; that stuff is so strong. It took a bit to get our orders in, but we were okay with that since we were all catching up with each other. We then placed our orders, and I got the Shrimp and Garlic Sauce meal and which stated it was on the spicier side, but it was a bit mild for my taste. Mind you, I like fiery spice, but it did keep me from sweating. We also got the Beef with mixed vegetables and the beef with string beans. Both dishes were tasty and not too spicy. This is great for people who can not handle too much spice. We were there for a bit, and we paid our bills and were out. The portions are huge, so we all left with boxes. 4 stars for sure!

The beef was tender, rice noodles were perfectly cooked, and the onion/scallion/bean sprouts were all delicious. Sort of reminded me of a thai drunken noodle dish. I also tried the hot and sour soup. Toast, as a platform, does not factor in how busy a restaurant actually is and gave me a thirty minute estimate. When I arrived about thirty five minutes later, there were six other people waiting and I was told it would be another ten minutes. The inside of Jackie Inn consists of a soda cooler, an ice cream cooler, and several areas to stand and wait, but there is no seating for dining in. On this Friday night, I believe there were seven people working, with six focused on food preparation and one person handling the front. The dominant sounds in the restaurant were woks in constant use, which was actually interesting to watch. In the end, my food was ready about twenty minutes after I arrived. For the first fifteen minutes I was fine with the wait, and I am glad they are busy, but I also did not expect to spend that much of my Friday night there. For dinner, I went with the lemongrass basil chicken while my wife chose the combination lo mein along with a chicken egg roll. The menu described my dish as spicy with broccoli, red bell pepper, lemongrass, basil, and a spicy chili sauce. My wife's lo mein was described as containing flank steak, chicken, prawns, carrots, scallions, onions, and fresh egg noodles. While the container initially looked small, the food ended up filling a fairly large bowl once plated. My dish was good. The chicken was moist and juicy, and I appreciated the generous amount of broccoli and bell pepper. The sauce had good flavor, and I even picked out some lemongrass stalks deeper in the dish, but I did not find it spicy at all. My wife really enjoyed her lo mein. She mentioned that while it costs a couple of dollars more than similar places, she feels it is worth it because the food tastes fresher. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I am happy to see Jackie Inn doing good business, I think the food tastes good, and I know my wife really enjoys it.
