    Camp Horne Cheese Steak Hoagie

Main menu items... Cuban sammie, bacon cheeseburger, and steak hoagie were good. The appetizers we had (fried Mac n cheese balls, mozz sticks, and rupe fries) were good but on the small side. The bartender ran the bar and served us with good attentiveness. We had refills without asking and she was very nice. Good spot for the atmosphere and a sandwich for sure.

Rupe's Roadhouse popped into my head when an old friend wanted to meet for dinner and a few beers. My friend is a meat and potatoes, shot and a beer, sort of guy so this fit the bill perfectly. On a Friday Pens Hockey night in Pittsburgh, this place gets jammed. We bellied up to the bar that was filled to capacity. The bartenders were pretty good about servicing everyone although a little on the slow side. No matter since the two women were friendly and we were busy catching up. Their beer selection is pretty decent and I tried a Vanilla Porter on draft that was just tapped and really fresh. It was so good. My friend ordered up some Hot Thighs to start. These are chicken thighs with garlic and sauce on them. He really enjoyed them and had enough to take home and share with his brother, who also really loved them. He ordered the gyro and said it was very tasty. I had the Reuben that came served with a big knife plunged into it - must be a culinary trend here because that happened to me recently at another place with a cheesesteak. Don't kill the sandwiches, people! I opted for fries instead of chips and was glad I did. The fries were fresh and hot. This is a super cozy local tavern with decent food and friendly patrons. We were impressed that the owner/manager came around to ask how the meal was even though it was so crowded. He seems to really be trying to build the food side of his business and has recently added Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday brunch/breakfast from 9-12, which I may have to try (they need to post a menu for breakfast online).

I've been driving Camp Horne Road regularly, (or as regularly as PennDot will let me) for almost five years now. There used to be a little hole in the wall called Mark's on one of the turns. The only reason I remember it was called Mark's was because my boss at the times name was Mark. There wasn't much else memorable about the sad building. But now, WOW. They have done so much to revamp that place. New exterior, new entrance, and although I can't speak to the old interior, this is really nice! They have a nice sized bar, and plenty of high tops and low seaters. Tv's abound, but it's not super noisy. In traditional Pittsburgh style, memorabilia and jerseys are framed throughout the dining room. Rupe's had a Groupon going, and for $10 for $20, I decided to treat my parents one night. Dad is a creature of habit, and got the fish and chips. Mom got a pepperoni flatbread, and I tried the gyro bowl. So. Much. Food. Dads fish was baked, really well, just the way he likes it. Mom shared her flatbread with everyone, and I thought it was really good! Crisp and cheesy. What more can you ask for? And my gyro bowl? Amazing. Lettuce, fries, tomato, and more lamb than I knew what to do with. I had to eat the whole thing. (Shame, shame) Service was good, considering it was happy hour, and we weren't consuming alcohol. We didn't need to ask for refills, and I'm pretty sure everyone working in the bar that night came and brought us napkins and asked how our meals were. Nice! They just launched a new Groupon, and you bet I'm gonna get another one! Happy Eating!

Super awesome place ! Hidden in an unsuspecting part of town you wouldn't expect something as nice to be in. Looks great inside and greatest genuine hospitality I've received from a restaurant and it's owners in a while. Made the visit feel super personal, DEF worth you're way out of your path to stop by!

It's been a great addition to the Mt Nebo area that has always lacked a modern, good eats menu. This location has a small arcade upstairs that is nice to entertain the kids for a bit. I enjoyed the jerk chicken cheesesteak - a fun twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak. Throw fries are dusted with a seasoning that is good and palatable for children. I ordered my daughter a kids cheeseburger with fries and the fries came dusted on her plate too. I didn't eat the crab Rangoon nachos but they were a favorite at our table. My husband and I ate one dinner here. The menu listed salads, wings, sandwiches, pizzas, entrees such as pasta and steak, in-house beers, cocktails, mocktails, etcetera. Our waitress performed her job well. Here is what we ate: Crab rangoon nachos - 4 stars - Wonton chips were covered in sweet chili glaze, large chunks of imitation crab meat (which my husband liked), green onion, and black sesame seeds. Apricot bourbon salmon - 4 stars - The salmon was cooked nicely and was juicy and flavorful. For sides, the mixed vegetables had a bit too much oil, and the brussels sprouts could use more flavor. Chicken cordon bleu sandwich - 4 stars - My husband said that the chicken was slightly overfried and hard, but the flavors from the arugula, onions, prosciutto, cheese, and dijonaise were good. He liked the side of crispy fries. The total price was $54 plus tax and tip.

Parking is never too difficult to find because there is a lot next to the building as well as street parking. There is a handful of tables and bar seating throughout the brewery, and there are some outdoor tables by the food truck. I always enjoy the vibes at Cobblehaus. I had been there several years ago with the same friend for a hangover curing breakfast of biscuits and Italian sausage gravy, and I remembered how good that was. This time I went to try their house beers, and I was again very happy. The Brewery is a cozy little place tucked in a side street, and the interior is worn but clean and comfortable. The staff are super friendly and efficient, but I should note that it wasn't very busy at the time. In any event, our excellent beers never ran dry, and when we were ready to eat the service was quick. We started with some pickle dip (yum!). My buddy then ordered the black and blue burger - one of his favorites. It's actually a triple patty deal with some hot sausage in the mix. It was messy as hell, but he really enjoyed it. I went with the Buffalo mac-n-cheese. It was very tasty and had a nice kick from the spicy Buffalo chicken. Overall it was a nice experience, and I'll definitely be back. One word of caution though: The Brewery is moving across the street into the old post office building. I'm not sure exactly when this is planned, but I hear it will be soon. The new building is being gutted and refit with everything needed, and will include an outdoor area that can accommodate live music. I'm really happy that they are doing well enough to grow, and can't wait to check out the new place when it opens.
