Bought two fish sandwiches and fries. The long piece of fish didn't even come with a bun or roll to put it on. It came with two pieces of white bread! Who does that? The fries were greasy and wilty. They were terrible. We had to buy buns to put the fish on, and we threw the fries out. Cost us $25.00. We will never go there again. read more

First time visiting today, and it was awesome! I ordered the fried catfish with mac & cheese and potato salad as sides. My wife had the 4 whole wings platter with collard greens and red beans & rice. Stopped in and for a few ribs and sides. My ribs were tender and good. The sauce was a sweet sauce. Usually prefer a sauce that has a little more spice but did not ask if they had any other sauces. I had read about this place a while ago, and kept looking at the reviews, but with Covid and all, never found the time to visit until today. And wow! Went with a couple of friends on a gorgeous day that enabled us to eat outside on their nice picnic tables. I decided to forego the sides and concentrate on their ribs by ordering a half slab. The young woman behind the counter was very pleasant and asked if I wanted sauce on the ribs or on the side. I wanted to see if the meat could stand on its own, so small covered cups were provided on top of my takeout container. The ribs had a really nice char, and tasted outrageous. I only used the sauce sparingly, since I couldn't get enough of that flavor. Five meaty bones were more than enough, and we mentioned how even the fat tasted good. They weren't overly salty (I'm looking at you, Mission Barbecue), but somehow. The best ribs I think I've ever had! Annie Lee's Southern Kitchen is kind of in the middle of nowhere, but when it comes to real deal barbecue, they're right on the money. I WILL return!!! read more

The dining room is nothing fancy, but they serve great food with a smile. I'm very particular about my cornbread, because Southern cornbread is never sweet. The cornbread here is only slightly sweet, and it's a good portion for just 50¢. The BBQ sauce is excellent, although it would be nice to have a few more options or spice level. I requested a side of sauce with my ribs and was glad I did.. the ribs weren't dry just like a little sauce on my ribs. The fries were pretty good. They offer fun beverages like lemonade and cool aid. Not all items are available for walk in take out- call ahead. They accept cash AND credit cards. My husband and I have been looking for Fried Catfish ever since we came to Pennsylvania 3 years ago. Today, another Louisianian told us about this place. So, of course, we had to try it. This place is legit!!!! Real, cornmeal-fried catfish!!!! So good! Reminded me of home! The wings are full wings. Perfect seasoning and crispy! The ribs are so good! Full transparent review. I really wanted to like this small black owned business. I understand the "Southern Kitchen" theme but as a Southerner from New Orleans this was not it. Not even close! My first time giving this place a try was 1/23 while working in the area and today was my second time hoping for a better outcome. I understand this isn't home but good food is good food no matter what city and state you're in. This place would be some much better if they used seasoning. The fried chicken wings are the best thing smoking because it's sure not the ribs. The ribs are tough and tasteless. They are only somewhat enjoyable drowned in bbq sauce with the bbq sauce being the most flavorful thing here but you'll have some time with the chew! Mac & cheese looks great but is also bland. So bland that I can tell that the pasta isn't even boiled in salted water. Which leads to the watery bitter collard greens. Again, from the looks you'd think they were about to be something special but NOPE!! The cornbread was OK. The catfish was fresh out of the grease, crispy and tender with ZERO FLAVOR! This was the most disappointing thing on the menu because one catfish fillet cost $9 and it wasn't even a big fillet. This catfish wasn't seasoned with a pinch of salt or pepper nor was the cornmeal. It was just dropped in the cornmeal and fried to perfection! Third time will not be a charm!! read more

The ribs are dry. Flavor is trying to be there but they don't fall off the bone. The Mac and cheese noodles are over cooked and mush. The corn bread was burnt. Tastes completely like char and crumbles into dust chunks like a dry nature valley bar. The greens were so nasty my husband spit them out onto his plate. Wouldn't even swallow them. They're flavorless, and there is no base. Nor salt or pepper And they're still crunchy so undercooked for sure. For $71 for two people I would expect to be floored by the flavors. The sweet potatoes were exceptional Great flavor but also overcooked and are more sweet mashed potatoes than anything. I was driving down the road this morning and noticed someone cooking up a storm outside this new restaurant so l stopped in on my way back to see what was 'cooking.' I ended up purchasing a rack of ribs, some cornbread and greens. These were absolutely the thickest, juiciest, most incredible ribs i've had in 20 years. I'm on a diet (whoops) so had the sauce on the side. I never used it. If you're within 10 miles definitely make the journey!! They just opened about a month ago so l hope they do well - for selfish reasons! My only suggestion is that they put a few tables or picnic tables out front. 5 stars!! read more

We decided to try this place after running some errands not wanting to cook food tonight. Now, I have never given a place on yelp or in my head 5 stars, but this place is "holy shit" good. We ordered the wings, ribs, mac n cheese, and cornbread to try. I generally never order take out ribs because I like to smoke them myself and every place I have tried seems to be not great honestly. I am also picky with my sauces as well. I can honestly say that the ribs we got were excellent. Cooked like I like them (good pull, great smokey taste), the sauce was complimentary to the smoke flavor and not just added on to be there. Seriously excellent. The mac n cheese is also excellent, and really nails the home-made taste, but gives me the sense that someone put some love in that, just straight good. It has to be someone's grandmother who passed it on. Cornbread was a great compliment, not dry, and a hint of sweetness. Now the wings. A dozen golden, lightly breaded, lightly seasoned, perfectly fried sexiness. Good God. Finally a place in Beaver County with real food made with love, by people who are probably tasting things as it is being cooked, and the counter people were super sweet and sincere.
