The fried chicken was absolutely delicious. The portions are pretty large. First time trying colored greens for me and I really enjoyed them.

Whiting, yams, Mac and cheese and cornbread

I just wish it was closer to my house. The food was outstanding. Had fried Whiting, sweet tea, cornbread, mac and cheese and yams. Fish was fried and seasoned just right and the sides were delicious. I'm rarely in this area but I'll certainly come back when I do come this way. That sweet tea was delish on the ride home. Very clean, professional and friendly. This is a place you certainly want to check out.

I had read about this place a while ago, and kept looking at the reviews, but with Covid and all, never found the time to visit until today. And wow! Went with a couple of friends on a gorgeous day that enabled us to eat outside on their nice picnic tables. I decided to forego the sides and concentrate on their ribs by ordering a half slab. The young woman behind the counter was very pleasant and asked if I wanted sauce on the ribs or on the side. I wanted to see if the meat could stand on its own, so small covered cups were provided on top of my takeout container. The ribs had a really nice char, and tasted outrageous. I only used the sauce sparingly, since I couldn't get enough of that flavor. Five meaty bones were more than enough, and we mentioned how even the fat tasted good. They weren't overly salty (I'm looking at you, Mission Barbecue), but somehow. The best ribs I think I've ever had! Annie Lee's Southern Kitchen is kind of in the middle of nowhere, but when it comes to real deal barbecue, they're right on the money. I WILL return!!!

Authentic Southern food. There's a lot of pride here, and for a good reason. Everything is prepared carefully and with a lot of flavor. The dining room is nothing fancy, but they serve great food with a smile. I'm very particular about my cornbread, because Southern cornbread is never sweet. The cornbread here is only slightly sweet, and it's a good portion for just 50¢. The BBQ sauce is excellent, although it would be nice to have a few more options or spice level. The greens were perfect. Overall, wonderful Southern BBQ.

Unique spot for take out in Ambridge!! Great customer service. The seasoning on the wings was just right. I requested a side of sauce with my ribs and was glad I did.. the ribs weren't dry just like a little sauce on my ribs. The fries were pretty good. They offer fun beverages like lemonade and cool aid. Not all items are available for walk in take out- call ahead. They accept cash AND credit cards. It was definitely fun to check out and the service was outstanding!

I got the fish baked macaroni and cheese and the collard greens.Everything was delicious. This was my first time ordering from them and I plan to again if I'm in the area.Being a truck driver it's hard to get places to deliver to you sometimes but I'm glad that I was in their delivery area.

I was a little disappointed my 3 piece dark meat didn't come with a thigh but thats ok. The white cheddar grits were well cooked. I wasn't a huge fan of the flavor but that might just be white cheddar. Hubs had the chicken BLT that had a great flavor from the chicken breading and other sauces. The bread was super crispy and perfectly golden brown. Stop by if you're in the area and need a yummy quick meal!

It will tell you it is multiple vendor stalls, central seating. Instead, the first thing I noticed was a barrier to my experience -- a hostess counter. WTH? I politely ask her how this works. Do we walk around or do we get a table? Im confused and she is just as confused by my confusion. Apparently, it is a sit-down, get escorted to a table just like any other full-service restaurant model and with an hour wait to do so on this Picklesburgh Sunday so we did not partake (FYI, we had a great meal with no wait at Nicki's Thai restaurant). So, guys. If you are going to tout this as a beer and food "hall", remember what the concept is. (Um, Faneuil Hall?? In Boston ring a bell?)

That it was takeout only presented a dilemma for me, as I was just visiting the North Side for the day by bus and foot, and had no place to take my order. Of the two people behind the counter, one could not have cared less about my dilemma, but the other was of some help with this and my order. I wound up walking two blocks downhill to a park with benches. Second, that all orders are cooked to order and take 25 minutes. Fortunately there is a branch of the Pittsburgh Public Library across the street and it was open, so that occupied my time. The food: the chicken and catfish are fried in light crispy breading, very fine. The chicken wingettes were delicious. The catfish was not easily flaked and was ever so slightly rubbery, which would have been a very bad sign if it had been any more so. But it wasn't too bad. Green beans are a good side dish at this sort of joint, and these were good, seasoned with meat and sautéed onions mixed in. The white rice was entirely plain but tasty.

If my husband sees it on the menu, he must have it. It was good especially the top part was very sweet, which I loved. I didn't think the rest was as flavorful as I would have liked. Y husband loved it. I had the two Honey Chipotle Shrimp Tacos and they were absolutely amazing. I loved them so much. I also liked the Mexican street corn side too. My husband thought the ribs and mashed potatoes were amazing. When my mom and I see brisket on the menu, we typically have to have it. She did along with her other favorite mashed potatoes and loved both. I don't think you can have a bad meal there. Anxious to go back and try other things.
