Frosty Cone - Smores parfait!!! - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Elizabeth, Pennsylvania

Read about this place on a Yelp post on Instagram and knew I had to try it when I came to visit Pittsburgh. This is my first visit and they close for the season tomorrow! Oh well, I can't wait to come back next Spring when they open for the new season. This place serves the best soft serve ice cream. It's very creamy and delicious. They also serve pineapple Dole Whip that's equally creamy and flavorful. Walk up to the window and place your order. They serve you so quickly. Sit down on a clean picnic bench and linger while you enjoy your frozen treat. There are two different areas of picnic benches. You choose either on the side under the roof or out front as you watch the cars go by. The sign out front lets customers know the flavor of the day. read more

Frosty Cone serves soft-serve and hard ice creams, unique flavors of sundaes, dole whip, custard, yogurt, parfaits, macaron sandwiches, ice-cream sandwiches, cyclones (ice creams and candies), milkshakes, slushies, and more. When I approached the ordering counter, an employee courteously greeted me. She had no hard ice creams because of a problem with the freezer, but I wanted soft-serve ice cream. Payment was cash only. Some covered and covered outdoor picnic tables were available. I had bought the Bananas Foster Parfait for several dollars, and I really liked its soft-serve vanilla ice cream, banana slices, vanilla wafers, and caramel. read more

For a sweet treat this is a good place with many options. The associates were nice and cheery creating a great experience. They were also quick to fulfill orders. There is a private parking lot onsite although a little tight. The lights on the building made the shop quaint and assisted finding the building at twilight. read more

Soft serve, hard ice cream, turners, rotating seasonal flavors and DELICOUS collabs with local makers... this place has it all. There are plenty of spaces in the parking lot and the line area is fully coned off from traffic which I really appreciated. The menu boards were clear and easy to read. The staff was so incredibly helpful and patient with me. There are a few picnic tables on the side to enjoy your treats. We had a parfait and of course the tiktok famous macaron ice cream sandwich. Both were so tasty and less than $8 each! You can also order delivery if that's more your speed. read more

Everything we had at Frosty Cone was really good and our favorites were the strawberry pretzel salad parfait, the strawberry dole whip (can you tell that I love strawberry?), and the raspberry macaron sandwich. The line can be long since it's popular but it moves quickly and it's cash only and there's an ATM on site. The staff was so nice, especially Kendell! There's a couple of picnic tables right in front and a couple to the side with an overhang. There's a designated parking lot and it's not super big but we were able to find parking right away. read more

We detoured here on the way home from an ice skating competition. Thanks to the great social media marketing, we knew this was a must do! And they weren't wrong! We stopped by on a rainy Saturday evening. There were 4 other families at the same time as our visit, but it took us that long just to decide what we wanted! Staff was so friendly. There were picnic tables under an awning to stay dry from the rain and some in "the sun" if it were out! Great seating options! Ice cream was delicious. Everything we expected and definitely worth the detour! Only downsides I saw- no public bathrooms and no dairy free options. Not terrible since I travel with lactaid, but it's always nice to see those options available! Overall- I 10/10 recommend adding this to your itinerary for Pittsburgh! read more

In the 4-5 years that I've lived in Pittsburgh and north of the city, I haven't had very many forays to the Glassport/McKeesport/Elizabeth area. However, the weather has been so nice and with the leaves changing, we felt we could take a nice Fall drive with the family and explore these historic parts of Pittsburgh and end up at ice cream for a reward! The drive down was lovely and this Jce Cream shop is tucked right off the main drag and close to business and a Giant Eagle--very convenient! The menu is reasonably expansive and features rotating and seasonal flavors of soft serve (when we went it was pumpkin). I've been on a bit of a s'mores kick recently and so I elected to get the s'mores sundae which was complete with roasted marshmallows too! My sons went for pumpkin and vanilla soft serve, and my wife got the brownie sundae (brownie is made in-house and is more cakey than fudgey. Portions were large, prices were reasonable and service was very friendly! There are 5-6 tables to sit at and they were clean and nice to sit at while we enjoyed our ice cream and the cool fall breeze. Wonderful experience and glad to know of this local gem in Elizabeth! read more

An amazing Ice Cream venue. We wait patiently every year for them to open for the season. The very best ice cream treats!

So traveled about 40 min to try the strawberry pretzel arctic swirl.... Something my sister said she has been craving since the beginning of the summer. Line was not long - we got there about 30 min before closing. We ordered the largest we could get and elected to shared - it was almost $10. They have a nice space outside to sit and eat which is blocked off so no cars can park close - and yes they have a decent size parking lot. The ice cream is good - I wished however there was a bit more strawberries mixed in ... I will say that the lady in the car next to us looked to have a nice twist ice cream ... which is typically my go to :). read more

The Dole whips are great and so is the soft serve. There's a reason why Frosty Cone is always busy

I really enjoyed the variety of menu items and that they have multiple weekly special items. It is cash only, but thankfully they have an atm on-site if you forget. Finally decided on the pistachio whip cyclone and it was beyond delicious. It was a great mix of pistachio soft serve, pineapple, and marshmallow cream. It was so good, but my eyes were bigger than my stomach and I couldnt finish it. The small would more than suffice. read more

Great choices! Friendly staff and the ice cream is very good. Always very crowded so we try to go early.

This is my favorite place to get ice cream. The ice cream here is fresh and delicious. The portions are huge and it's very inexpensive. There is a variety of hard and soft flavors to choose from as well as banana splits, sundaes, flurries and anything you could imagine. The choices are endless. The mint chocolate chip hard ice cream is the best I've ever had! It has three different types of chocolate chips in it! I actually live in Pittsburgh (over forty minutes away) and drive down to get ice cream here at least once a week! This trip we purchased two med. twist soft serve cones (one with sprinkles) and two scoops of hard ice cream in a waffle cone and it was less than twelve dollars! They only accept cash though but they do have an on-site ATM. read more

We were on our way to dinner with friends and drove past Frosty Cone. We decided we would stop on the way home and are so happy that we did. The menu was large, prices incredibly reasonable and service friendly. We tried the custard which was full of flavor, a cyclone with Oreos and cookie dough which had the perfect ratio, a cone with cherry dip which delicious, a cone with sprinkles and most fun - an oatmeal cookie ice cream sandwich which was huge! The portions are generous and there are so many different things to try, we look forward to coming back next time we are in the area read more

My friend and I stopped at this awesome ice cream stand yesterday on the way back from vacation. We were so happy to have found Frosty Cone. The menu is huge, the prices are affordable, and the service was outstanding. My friend got a Butterfinger Cyclone think Blizzard), and I got both a slush and soft serve. They were all huge portions and delicious. Apparently new owners recently took over, too. While I can't speak to how it was before, I can't say enough about well it's run now. Really nice folks! We will definitely be making the trip again! read more

No summer (or any season, if you ask me) would be complete without the indulgent treat - ICE CREAM! Frosty cone delivers this treat in several flavors AND forms. If you're looking for affordable relief from the summer heat, stop by Frosty Cone. I'm one of those people who will ALWAYS have room for ice cream. As kids, my brothers and I rode our bikes to the local ice cream stand, Sully's, during summer vacation. It was love at first bite. Now I enjoy finding ice cream shops that remind me of home. Frosty Cone has everything - Milkshakes (or what I called Frappes), cones and cups of MANY sizes! But beware - their sizes are on the large size. Prices are on the small size, though. My kind of ice cream! I've had their brownie sundae - a hot homemade brownie topped with vanilla soft serve, whipped cream, jimmies (or sprinkles), and a cherry. O-M-G!! Big, but not the biggest. The LARGEST sundae I experienced there, thus far (and totally by accident) was the FLOATING sundae!!! A 20 oz. milkshake topped with an ice cream sundae. This is bigger than anyone can actually digest. Delicious but eat at your own risk. Also, they have a form of Blizzard, or Cyclone, or Flurry - you know what I mean... Soft serve ice cream mixed with your favorite toppings. Unique dips too! Hard or soft ice cream. Even ice cream cakes!! Yes, I scream for ICE CREAM!! Now, if you'll excuse me... I have a craving :) read more

I enjoyed the peanut butter sundae. It wasn't anything phenomenal, but it was good. I took my patient here for ice cream & she is an elderly woman. I was appalled at the language from the young teens at the table next to us. Loud & rude with a lot of swearing. I'm just glad that my patient didn't seem to hear them. I'm sure the workers could here them & they shouldn't allow this outside of their business in my opinion. I hurriedly ate my ice cream & was very uncomfortable. The prices are fair, and they give you a nice portion. The workers are friendly & helpful. If you want excellent ice cream in Elizabeth Pa, I would suggest the shop that sells Penn State ice cream. I can't remember the name, but it is the best in that area by far. read more

This is the best ice cream place I have ever gone to. They offer very big portions for a reasonable price (Cash only, though!). Their milkshakes are the BEST. I always get a cherry milkshake made with chocolate ice cream, and it is the most delicious thing ever. Their upside down banana splits are very good as well, even better if you get twist ice cream in it instead of vanilla. Their ice cream cones are big and very yummy. All of their ice cream is very rich and soft, can't get any better. I would go there every day if I could. Watch out though, a lot of the time the lines are long because everyone wants a taste of their delicious treats. Best place in town, best place anywhere! Really recommend! read more

This place is great! I get the peanut butter cookie sundae and it's delicious! The girls that work here are not always the friendliest but I think that is because it is always busy. The portions are large so come hungry. read more

I love the ice cream and grew up getting ice cream from here, but the woman, who I assume is the owners wife is the worst at customer service. I shouldn't be surprised with the archaic business platform because this is a small town business, but they need to stop being cheap and get with the times of credit/ debit card usage. I suggested to the lady that they should have a sign on their ATM machine saying the lowest you can take out is a $20 (who wants to take a $20 out at a cheap ice cream place not to mention you get charged an extra $2) and she said that's standard... actually it isn't, most machines can make the minimum $1 whoever loads the machine only needs to put those exact bills in. Another thing she kept repeating to me it wasn't their machine and it's a convenience and if I didn't like it I should carry cash. Also it came off as I should be grateful. The attitude isn't warranted when I'm the customer, I'm sorry I'm not one of her local yocals that put up with that kind of business acumen. I should definitely lower my standards of a place that named one of their items Fat Elvis. read more
