This place is really going down hill. I've been going here for years - like over a decade. So a few years ago I thought to boycott them because of reports on how they treat their staff but I continued to give them shot after shot. Today I order my usual, it was messed up, but when I got it back a third of the contents were missing. After having dinner nearby on a hot, muggy night, we decided to pop into this cute, old-fashioned ice cream stand. But the various menus taped across the front of this tiny place were a bit confusing. The swirl options are clear and dipped ice cream, by the flavors of soft serve were less clear. But the woman waiting to take out order was in no mood to offer assistance. Her impatience showed all over her face and in her clipped tone as she pushed us to order faster. I ended up with peanut butter soft serve on a cone, and it rather strangely lacked in flavor. My sister in law had toasted coconut - which she thought was pretty good. Husband got butter pecan on a cone and said it was ok. We might go back if we're in that area, but there are many more options I'd make an effort to get to before this place. I went here this afternoon and was pleasantly greeted as always. The workers here are always very nice and make the ice cream with no mistakes and in very little time. The ice cream is very good and the scoops are big! The outside area is also a very nice place to sit especially on a hot day, like today. read more

I stopped by Kelley's Dari Delite on a beautiful summer day in the middle of the afternoon and walked right up to the window. The reason why there isn't usually a line, unlike so many other ice cream shops in the middle of the summer, is that Dari Delite is an average shop with nothing that sets itself apart from the crowd. I bought a 16 oz. Coconut Samoa Arctic Swirl, which was about $4 plus tax. Their vanilla soft serve is OK; it's not close to the level of something like Page Dairy Mart (I'd even peg it a notch below Dairy Queen). Unfortunately, the toppings in the Arctic Swirl weren't blended properly. There was a smattering of small pieces in the top half of the cup. As I made it to the bottom of the cup, there were more pieces of chocolate and cookie than ice cream. I'm not sure if the uneven distribution of toppings was on the worker at the shop or on their machine, but having this strange Arctic Swirl certainly made me appreciate quality swirls I've had elsewhere much more. Beyond Arctic Swirls, they have cones, sundaes, milkshakes, and hard ice cream, and they do take Visa/Mastercard. The young lady at the window was friendly and efficient, and there is plenty of parking. If you're in the neighborhood and in the mood for ice cream as a reasonable price, it does the job. If you're in the mood for spectacular ice cream, you will be better served elsewhere. read more

It's a small, unassuming joint in a nook of the South Hills where there isn't much going on (it's getting better, but it's a process) HUGE menu, less busy/stressful than a place like Page's Dairy Mart. We drive by this place all the time and I have always wanted to stop by. It is your old fashion ice cream stand. They have a million flavors of both soft serve and regular ice cream with inexpensive prices (pumpkin flavors are now in). On my last stop I got the brownie sundae which was very tasty. It comes with a brownie topped with vanilla soft serve, hot fudge, whipped cream (optional), finished off with brownie crumbs. Pretty decent ice cream, but nowhere near the level of Pages or some of the other top ice cream spots in Pittsburgh. My biggest complaint here is the arctic swirls they serve, which are their version of a blizzard. I have had a lot of the options including cookie dough, brownie batter, Tagalongs, and more. We love getting ice cream here! They have a lot of different flavors and their milkshakes are always thick and creamy. They have both hard and soft serve ice cream, so something for whatever your mood is! I do agree they could use more filling in their article swirls, but I still enjoy them. They are in fact open. I THINK the address is correct. But they are still on Baptist Road right near Duke's Station, which I've never been to. Yes, I eat fast, and I don't care. When you're eating something this good, you can't take your time between slurps. Besides, it was melting but quick. Yeah, they're a little fast and loose here with the menu. It's pretty much whatever you want however you want it when it comes to frozen and sweet. Their menu is extensive. They even sell hot dogs and pretzels. My galbuddy got a mint chocolate chip ice cream cone which didn't hold up well for her in the humidity. Reason #1 why I rarely order cones. lol. An adorable, old school ice cream stand with a serious selection. There is soft serve available in twenty odd flavors. There are various sundaes and frozen concoctions. They also have regular ice cream available in numerous flavors. I really like this little ice cream shop. I like they they don't pretend to be anything that they aren't. Their ice cream clearly isn't homemade (Perry's) but they don't make it out to be and they have lots of flavors! They also have both soft serve and hard ice cream, as well as milkshakes, smoothies, sundaes and more. Went out for a late night treat. Two of the workers there were standing in front where you order smoking which was annoying. If you smoke that's fine but you don't have to do it in the front of the store less than 3 feet away from customers in line. I got a shake and a cone. They were out of a ton of flavors. Stopped by Kelley's today around 1 pm and was very pleased with my experience! I talked with the cashier, I believe her name was Savanna, and per her recommendation I decided to try a hot fudge sundae with the NEW "Cuse 44" flavor. OUT OF THIS WORLD! It was beyond delicious! I came here to get a real mint choclate chip milk shake. They charge you like it's a the hard ice cream when infact I saw them put soft serve into my cup mint flavoring and about 2 lbs of choclate chips. It was absolutely terrible the choc chips were ridiculous and my girlfriend got a choclate shake and they put choc softserve and milk and blended it. read more

First visit April 13, 2015 7:30pm is also my last visit. Was surprised to see that a young girl was making my ice cream cone with her bare hands. When I requested she use a napkin to touch the cone instead of using her bare hand, she proceeded to wash her hands. She then said, "Oh that's right, I forgot to use a stupid napkin." If you're an employee in any food industry, you shouldn't be touching any foods with your bare hands. You should also watch what you say in front of customers. read more

Last week I came to Kelley's with my niece and nephew. I ordered 2 dirt worm sundaes for them and the girls were so sweet to the kids! They loved their ice cream. Very happy with the service and loved sitting at the picnic tables. Will definitely be back. read more
