If you have ever driven by and wondered if you should stop, let me encourage you to stop. Yes, parking is difficult. Yes, the line is long. Yes, they move people through very quickly. Yes, it is the best soft-serve ice cream I have ever had. Drop the My wife and I decided to celebrate the final task in exiting an apartment and moving to The Flats. We were able to find parking and got into the line. Along the way we both chose what we wanted until we got to the window. The flavor we decided to get was a limited time one: cookie butter crunch. It was so good! Their menu is massive. You could visit every day in a three month window and never repeat the same order. Their soft-serve is exceptionally creamy. Their flavors are very real tasting. I am planning my next visit! Oh, and all the folks gathered around are kind, friendly, and you will make a new friend. Don't delay...they are not open year round.
I was having a real "Pittsburgh Proud" moment at this ice cream spot. I loved reading about the history of the business and looking through all of the vintage advertisements and memorabilia outside the shop. My first thought after visiting was that I should have come here sooner, and my second thought was already deciding what I want to order next time. I am already planning to order the peanut butter soft serve with warm fudge and a warm cookie after being inspired by their chocolate chip cookie sundae advertisement and will need to ask about what the strawberry shortcake situation is all about as well. For years, I watched the long lines outside and wondered what all the hype was about. Sometimes you don't get it until you "get it" - and now I get it. Fortunately for us, there was barely any line when we arrived even though it was a hot summer day. Even better, it's only about a one-hour walk from my house. The service was also fast and friendly and the employee who helped us was pleasant the whole time which added to the overall experience. I was especially impressed by the peanut butter soft serve. The flavor was rich and pronounced without compromising the smooth, creamy texture of the soft serve. It was everything I would want peanut butter soft serve ice cream to be. I was also surprised by how many soft-serve flavors they offer. Most places have only a few options, but there was plenty to choose from here. That said, it's hard for me to order anything other than the peanut butter soft serve now that I know how much I love it. One thing to know is that they do not offer free samples because the flavors are made to order. Something else to know is that the small sized cone held noticeably more ice cream than the small cup despite being the same price - so if you can I suggest the cone over the cup if you want more ice cream for the same price. I originally chose the cup because my hands weren't clean, but I later realized the cones come with a plastic protector around them anyway. All in all, this is one of those places that lives up to its reputation, and I highly recommend coming here if you are an ice cream aficionado.
Simply the best. The only ice cream I can remember having that was better than this was the now-defunct Tastee Freez in Coraopolis from the 70s-90s. Page's really has taken things to the next level.

Came on a rainy Sunday and the line was not too long! It moved quickly and the workers were really fast and efficient in trying to get everyone's order. I got the strawberry shortcake sundae and it was huge! I did not expect it to be so big so if you're looking to share something this would be it! It's a staple and delicious. I will be coming back to try to different flavors they got going on.
Pittsburgh favorite ice cream shop is opened for the season!! One of those ice cream shops where if someone mentions it, you have to go. With so many creative flavors, desserts, and toppings there is something for everyone here. On warm days, wait time can be up to an hour but I promise it's worth the wait. There are informational walls on Page's backstory as you get closer to the ordering wall and a huge menu to look at as you get closer as well. In additional to ice cream, they also serve quick American diner-esque bites, coffees, and drinks. The highlight is the ice cream but these options are not bad as well.
Great ice cream. Huge menu with tons of options and lots of flavors with big portions. The line was long but moved pretty quick. Huge history here and there is obviously a good reason they keep going 75 years later.
Best. Ice cream. Ever. Everything about this place is unforgettable! You won't find another ice cream spot like this- literally under a bridge, lol. The ambience, the vibes, the super friendly service... all of it is impeccable. And the ice cream? Actually delicious. I recommend the ice cream nachos as well, but you can't really go wrong with anything you choose. I love trying new flavors, and so far my favorites have been any of their fall specials and Cookie Monster. Pages Dairy Mart is hands-down the place I miss the most in Pittsburgh. If you haven't tried it yet, you are seriously missing out- go immediately!
Wow, what an incredible staple of Pittsburgh! The history is plastered all over the outside, which you will have time to see as the line can get very long, but trust me, it's worth it. Their specialties are incredible, love that they use so many products from other local businesses, like the famed Nancy B Chocolate Chip cookies. They are somehow even better in their sundae, filled with warm chocolate syrup and soft serve. Plus the energy and vibes are super great, especially in the summertime! Really can't go wrong with anything here, just make sure to try it at least once!
Long long long time fan, first time reviewer. I typically order the same thing but switched it up this last time I went. The Nancy B arctic swirl was so delicious, and I asked them to make it with peanut butter ice cream - definitely the move. This was from opening day this season, so I waited in line for about 30 minutes. This is the only dessert place I care to wait in any crazy line for. No matter how crazy busy this place gets, the staff always has high spirits and genuinely seems happy to be there. I've been coming here all my life and I'll keep coming as long as I can :)
6/28/25 Ate List: Cookie Dough Arctic Swirl - 9.3 Ice Cream Sandwich - 8.2 This might be the best ice cream (as a whole experience) I've ever had. You think ice cream and you want an old school shop, the neon lights, the ice cream that tastes like childhood. This spot checks all the boxes and somehow the ice cream tastes like the best one you remember from childhood. Arctic Swirls, blizzards, flurries, whatever you call it - their cookie dough Arctic swirl was amazing. One of the best I've ever had. The ice cream sandwich was perfectly chilled - not falling apart, not leaving the hands sticky. Flavor was perfection. Costs were a steal and frankly anything I've tried on the menu here makes me want to both explore the menu and never deviate from the amazing dish I know. The best problem to have. This institution is worth all the hype. Isn't summer in Pittsburgh without a stop here.
This is my favorite thing on the menu. There are so many great things to choose from but Potomac bakery has the best brownies in the city. Refroze this and ate it for a few days. Wish they were open year round!
One of the best ice cream places in Pittsburgh by far. The service is amazing and quick. It's very old fashioned location but reminds me of ice cream places past. Very nice place.

This local ice cream walk up is steeped in Pittsburgh history and still serving delicious treats today. This was my second visit and I tried my first Arctic Swirl: toasted coconut soft serve with chocolate chunks. Loved every bite. My first visit I tried a seasonal flavor soft serve, cookie butter crunch, on a cone. It was so creamy and flavorful. They have so many flavors and categories, I need to keep coming back to try more before they close for the winter. Their fall flavors are dropping after Labor Day weekend. Find a parking spot either around the building or in the parking lot out back; stand in line; look over the menu; place your order and pay; wait for your delicious treat to be served in the next window. If the line is really long, read about their history from the photos on the back of the building. Be sure to follow Page's on social media to keep up to date with their menu. Not new to Page's, but felt compelled to post that this is where I decided to try my first ever banana split last week. Game changer. I opted for vanilla/chocolate twist ice cream. The size of this thing can't be overstated; plan to share! (Or don't.) If your soft serve standard is DQ, please come here to try real full-fat soft serve ice cream. The mouth-feel of Page's soft serve is almost like frozen custard. It's perfect in a sundae or all on its own. read more

This feels like a Pittsburgh staple! Love that it's been around for so many years. Got to read the history on the back wall of the building while waiting in line. They have so many menu options including milkshakes, arctic swirls, and soft serve. People are not kidding about the long lines. Went close to end of season and there was still a 45 min wait. It went pretty fast though and my friend and I just talked to people in line! Staff were friendly and helpful when ordering. I got the strawberry chocolate arctic swirl. I really appreciate that they use really ingredients when making the arctic swirls! There's so many things on the menu I want to come back and try! read more

Pa ked house at Page's today. I guess Sunday afternoon of Labor Day weekend is a popular day for ice cream. We waited about 30 minutes for a line wrapped around the building. Tried out the Cookie Monster Artic Swirl. Love the concept,but the blue flavor wasn't my favorite. Love the Nancy B cookies though. read more
I loved this cute local soft serve place. The line was consistently long, wrapping around the building but it moved fast and was worth waiting for. There are so many different options for soft serves or milkshakes. Everything my friends and I tried was delicious. I got a mix of chocolate and pb soft serve with mix ins of Reese's cups. 10/10 would get again! Definitely worth a stop if you're in Pittsburg read more

Page's may very possibly be the best soft serve ice cream that I've ever had. They have a great selection of flavors to choose from and the service & pricing are excellent. The place is usually pretty crowded and honestly, it is well worth it. All good things for those who wait!! It is a classic ice cream establishment with years of history. We got the classic soft serve with chocolate dip which was excellent for its price. The soft serve was very smooth and creamy. However, the location is located in a very weird spot. We went on a rainy day but the line still wrapped around the whole building. Regardless, we still got our icecream pretty quickly after ordering. There is no seating but the vibes are great for grabbing ice cream with friends or family members. I would definitely come back to try different things. read more

The staff is fun and quick and attentive. The choices are overwhelming too many to choose from really. We got a large twist cone and I swear it was cone to tip like 12 inches. I had the mudslide sundae that was too big I would have liked it more if the hot fudge was in the middle and the top. read more

Best ice cream in the nation. Don't miss this gem ... if you arrive 11AM much less of a wait. So many soft serve flavors. Coke float, root beer and Dr. Pepper floats. Food is classic choices tasty and satisfying. read more

Even on a cloudy cold day Page's was still hopping! This delicious corner ice cream place was fantastic! My family and I visited them before heading to the movies and we all loved it! We waited about 10 minutes before we got to the counter, I can't even imagine what the wait time is like during the warmer weather! The staff were great and nice. We had a total of 3 Arctic swirls and 1 milkshake and waited for all of that for about 5 minutes. The smallest size they had was a decent size too, so you definitely get your moneys worth! I got the Oreo cheesecake Arctic swirl and wow, perfect blend of Oreo and cheesecake and they had the Oreo crumbs dumped to the side too. My family and I will have to visit here again soon to try the rest of the menu. If you got that sweet tooth craving Page's is the place for you! read more

I thought the ice cream here was spectacular as well as the wide array of options. Definitely a nice place to go for a refreshing summer treat. However, coming from central PA, where similar ice cream shops offer sundaes for around $5, the prices here felt a bit high. ( as 2 sundaes cost us $20 ) Especially when the entire vibe is small town store. I understand that prices can be different in the city, but I would have appreciated more transparent pricing (as prices weren't listed on the menu) and additional sizing options. It's just disappointing when you thought it would be cheaper, then order, told you can only get one size, and then pay $20 for way more ice cream than even 2 people can finish. read more
A staple of Pittsburgh with a huge variety of options from hot dogs, to coffee, to soft serve. If you are dairy-free like me, then be prepared to be pleasantly surprised with a huge dairy free selection. When you arrive, expect to wait in a rather long line. However, the line moves fast thanks to the exceptional service. After about a 15-20 minute wait, we finally made it to the front. I ordered a chocolate chip cookie dough arctic shake. I got a medium which turned out to be pretty massive. It was smooth and creamy and absolutely delicious. Definitely the perfect place to end a warm summer Pittsburgh evening! read more
Been hearing about this ice cream venue forever and, finally, landed here after a lengthy, winding route home from the airport via Waze app. Worth the 30 minute wait in line that wrapped around the building on an 80 degree week day in April. Ordered the Tortoise Delight sundae. Wasn't asked what size. I guess that means one size--huge!!! Came with a soft decadent brownie, chocolate, caramel, whipped cream, vanilla ice cream in a bowl. It was everything a sundae should be and I only wish I could have finished it. Not often sugary sweets have me crying uncle. But, it was a lot! read more
