I was having a real "Pittsburgh Proud" moment at this ice cream spot. I loved reading about the history of the business and looking through all of the vintage advertisements and memorabilia outside the shop. My first thought after visiting was that I should have come here sooner, and my second thought was already deciding what I want to order next time. I am already planning to order the peanut butter soft serve with warm fudge and a warm cookie after being inspired by their chocolate chip cookie sundae advertisement and will need to ask about what the strawberry shortcake situation is all about as well. For years, I watched the long lines outside and wondered what all the hype was about. Sometimes you don't get it until you "get it" - and now I get it. Fortunately for us, there was barely any line when we arrived even though it was a hot summer day. Even better, it's only about a one-hour walk from my house. The service was also fast and friendly and the employee who helped us was pleasant the whole time which added to the overall experience. I was especially impressed by the peanut butter soft serve. The flavor was rich and pronounced without compromising the smooth, creamy texture of the soft serve. It was everything I would want peanut butter soft serve ice cream to be. I was also surprised by how many soft-serve flavors they offer. Most places have only a few options, but there was plenty to choose from here. That said, it's hard for me to order anything other than the peanut butter soft serve now that I know how much I love it. One thing to know is that they do not offer free samples because the flavors are made to order. Something else to know is that the small sized cone held noticeably more ice cream than the small cup despite being the same price - so if you can I suggest the cone over the cup if you want more ice cream for the same price. I originally chose the cup because my hands weren't clean, but I later realized the cones come with a plastic protector around them anyway. All in all, this is one of those places that lives up to its reputation, and I highly recommend coming here if you are an ice cream aficionado. read more

Came on a rainy Sunday and the line was not too long! It moved quickly and the workers were really fast and efficient in trying to get everyone's order. I got the strawberry shortcake sundae and it was huge! I did not expect it to be so big so if you're looking to share something this would be it! It's a staple and delicious. Pittsburgh favorite ice cream shop is opened for the season!! One of those ice cream shops where if someone mentions it, you have to go. With so many creative flavors, desserts, and toppings there is something for everyone here. On warm days, wait time can be up to an hour but I promise it's worth the wait. There are informational walls on Page's backstory as you get closer to the ordering wall and a huge menu to look at as you get closer as well. In additional to ice cream, they also serve quick American diner-esque bites, coffees, and drinks. The highlight is the ice cream but these options are not bad as well. read more

Page's is an iconic Pittsburgh stop for ice cream and absolutely deserves its reputation. On a beautiful summer day, the lines can get very long and wrap around the shop, but that's part of the experience and a sign of how loved this place is. Luckily, we live relatively close, so we have plenty of chances to drive by and hope for a shorter line. My usual order is the Arctic Swirl with vanilla ice cream and M&M's mixed in, which comes in medium or large. It's simple, nostalgic, and always hits the spot. My husband's go-to is the Nancy B sundae, which is another favorite in our family. Now that my toddler is 2, she loves going to the "ice cream store," which makes Page's feel even more special for us. Long long long time fan, first time reviewer. I typically order the same thing but switched it up this last time I went. The Nancy B arctic swirl was so delicious, and I asked them to make it with peanut butter ice cream - definitely the move. This was from opening day this season, so I waited in line for about 30 minutes. This is the only dessert place I care to wait in any crazy line for. No matter how crazy busy this place gets, the staff always has high spirits and genuinely seems happy to be there. Best. Ice cream. Ever. Everything about this place is unforgettable! You won't find another ice cream spot like this- literally under a bridge, lol. The ambience, the vibes, the super friendly service... all of it is impeccable. And the ice cream? Actually delicious. I recommend the ice cream nachos as well, but you can't really go wrong with anything you choose. I love trying new flavors, and so far my favorites have been any of their fall specials and Cookie Monster. Pages Dairy Mart is hands-down the place I miss the most in Pittsburgh. Wow, what an incredible staple of Pittsburgh! The history is plastered all over the outside, which you will have time to see as the line can get very long, but trust me, it's worth it. Their specialties are incredible, love that they use so many products from other local businesses, like the famed Nancy B Chocolate Chip cookies. They are somehow even better in their sundae, filled with warm chocolate syrup and soft serve. Plus the energy and vibes are super great, especially in the summertime! 6/28/25 Ate List: Cookie Dough Arctic Swirl - 9.3 Ice Cream Sandwich - 8.2 This might be the best ice cream (as a whole experience) I've ever had. You think ice cream and you want an old school shop, the neon lights, the ice cream that tastes like childhood. This spot checks all the boxes and somehow the ice cream tastes like the best one you remember from childhood. Arctic Swirls, blizzards, flurries, whatever you call it - their cookie dough Arctic swirl was amazing. One of the best I've ever had. The ice cream sandwich was perfectly chilled - not falling apart, not leaving the hands sticky. Flavor was perfection. Costs were a steal and frankly anything I've tried on the menu here makes me want to both explore the menu and never deviate from the amazing dish I know. The best problem to have. This feels like a Pittsburgh staple! Love that it's been around for so many years. Got to read the history on the back wall of the building while waiting in line. They have so many menu options including milkshakes, arctic swirls, and soft serve. People are not kidding about the long lines. Went close to end of season and there was still a 45 min wait. We got the classic soft serve with chocolate dip which was excellent for its price. The soft serve was very smooth and creamy. However, the location is located in a very weird spot. We went on a rainy day but the line still wrapped around the whole building. Regardless, we still got our icecream pretty quickly after ordering. Yeah I get the hype - I think it's worth it, it's good ice cream. The parking situation under the bridge was bad, but not impossible. As soon as the weather got good, the line here instantly got long it seems. From start to finish on a Friday afternoon, it took about 40 minutes. It wasn't scorching hot with it being April at the time of this review, but I could totally see it being unbearable when it's summer. You don't get to see much of the shop from the outside and unfortunately, there is no inside for you. Ordering happened at a window, and you get to see the extremely extensive menu while you're looping around in line. It's honestly a bit overwhelming how many options you get, but fortunately you got the classics if you seem to panic when it's your turn. I got the cookies and cream and carrot cake soft serves in a cup which was about $7 each. Calling them soft, smooth, and silky would be an understatement. It's really great soft serve and the portion size is enormous. I honestly think it would have been better had we gotten one and split it with a friend. I'd definitely come here again to try out many of the other options they got. read more

Even on a cloudy cold day Page's was still hopping! This delicious corner ice cream place was fantastic! My family and I visited them before heading to the movies and we all loved it! We waited about 10 minutes before we got to the counter, I can't even imagine what the wait time is like during the warmer weather! The staff were great and nice. We had a total of 3 Arctic swirls and 1 milkshake and waited for all of that for about 5 minutes. The smallest size they had was a decent size too, so you definitely get your moneys worth! I got the Oreo cheesecake Arctic swirl and wow, perfect blend of Oreo and cheesecake and they had the Oreo crumbs dumped to the side too. My family and I will have to visit here again soon to try the rest of the menu. If you got that sweet tooth craving Page's is the place for you! read more

I thought the ice cream here was spectacular as well as the wide array of options. Definitely a nice place to go for a refreshing summer treat. However, coming from central PA, where similar ice cream shops offer sundaes for around $5, the prices here felt a bit high. ( as 2 sundaes cost us $20 ) Especially when the entire vibe is small town store. I understand that prices can be different in the city, but I would have appreciated more transparent pricing (as prices weren't listed on the menu) and additional sizing options. It's just disappointing when you thought it would be cheaper, then order, told you can only get one size, and then pay $20 for way more ice cream than even 2 people can finish. read more

As always Page's never disappoints. Real banana in the milkshake, portions are amazing. Staff is incredible and it's amazing how many guest and amount of sweet treats they can serve in a short period of time. If you think the line is long it's worth it and it moves fast. It's always a fun place hanging around and chatting with other guests while enjoying your sweet treat and how long they have been going to pages, 40+ years for this reviewer and taking all of my kids to build the memories around this place like I have! My favorite time is at night when the lights turn on it reminds you it's summer time, creating the perfect moment to build memories. read more

If you are dairy-free like me, then be prepared to be pleasantly surprised with a huge dairy free selection. When you arrive, expect to wait in a rather long line. However, the line moves fast thanks to the exceptional service. After about a 15-20 minute wait, we finally made it to the front. I ordered a chocolate chip cookie dough arctic shake. Been hearing about this ice cream venue forever and, finally, landed here after a lengthy, winding route home from the airport via Waze app. Worth the 30 minute wait in line that wrapped around the building on an 80 degree week day in April. Ordered the Tortoise Delight sundae. Wasn't asked what size. I guess that means one size--huge!!! Came with a soft decadent brownie, chocolate, caramel, whipped cream, vanilla ice cream in a bowl. Really fun soft serve ice cream options! I got a small keylime pie soft serve for $3.30. My partner got the cheeseburger with lettuce tomato onion pickle ketchup and mustard for about the same price as the ice cream and we thought it was delicious! We were surprised by the fresh toppings for that price! Parking would be a bit tricky if we had gone during a busy time, as Pages is located under and overpass (which is pretty leaky lol). There is a small parking lot behind the shop which was better to park in! read more

This place has a huge line always and it makes sense! Truly a pittsburgh quintessential establishment. They have a huge menu with real food and tons of ice cream choices. I love that they have oat milk soft serve that's actually good! It's so dang creamy. You can also get it in any flavor which is amazing. Friends say their real food is delicious so I need to try that next time. The line is long but it moves decently quick. The artic swirls are really good too and they're like a blizzard. They also have south side nachos which is soft serve with waffle cone pieces you can dip. I love the history on the side of the place for everyone in line to read. The rumors are true, the parking is a nightmare, the ice cream is worth it! Obsessed with the birthday cake soft serve... pure delight!! The interior has a decent amount of seating and lots of dried flowers everywhere. Definitely try the hot chocolate!
