Cinnamon Ice Cream with GF cone
Valerie C.

New Leona's scoop shop in the heart of Lawrenceville! The shop is located within Lawrence Hall. It is the perfect size for a scoop shop. I'm so excited because the ice cream is 100% lactose free and made from 100% real dairy. The flavors are delicious and artisanal, rotating every now and then. I got the cinnamon scoop on a gluten free cone. It tasted exactly like cinnamon toast crunch cereal without the cereal!! Very impressed by the quality of ingredients. There are ice cream sandwiches available in the freezer and plenty of flavors to choose from. The staff is friendly and offer flavor samples! Pricing is high for ice cream. Currently one scoop is $6+, and additional scoops are $3. The GF cone was an extra fee as well. Parking can be difficult. Mostly paid or residential street parking available. Lawrence Hall is a chic space to hang out and grab a meal, drinks or dessert!! Looking forward to trying all the Hall has to offer. tldr Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 4/5

Love the Leona's scoop shop! The cookies are good and all, but tbh I was always here for the ice cream I'm a pumpkin girly, so I had to stop and pick up some of the seasonal pumpkin caramel flavor and it was out of this world! Definitely don't miss this fall flavor while it's available

Leona's Ice Cream is incredible. They can be found in a variety of different places such as Giant Eagle Market Districts, Local Pittsburgh Restaurants, Breweries and Farmers Markets. The have a storefront inside of Lawrence Hall as well. They make all their ice cream with real dairy, but it is all lactose free. Known for their incredible combination of flavors with their ice cream cookies, but also thriving in the pint world and in their new, brick and mortar- go on in and grab a scoop! I am a sucker for their ice cream sandwiches- each is made with a giant ice cream slice in the middle and a creamy, crunchy cookie on either side. My favorite combo is the Strawberry Pretzel Salad. A pretzel cookie- sweet and salty with a vanilla ice cream with swirls of homemade strawberry compote... WOW! The owners are amazing and so friendly. They take a true passion in what they produce, and it really shows. I can't wait to check out all their new fall seasonal flavors soon!

Menu offerings were so vast, it took me a while to read through everything because it all sounded so good! They have a couple of rotating specials and different grades of matcha depending on caffeine levels and a weekly rotation of their soft serve. In addition to matcha lattes, they have shaved ice, soft serve floats, espresso + matcha combos, refreshers, and combos I never thought of but wanted to try. I love a yuzu drink so I tried their yuzu cool, a yuzu blended ice drink topped with their grade 1 matcha. It was amazing. The matcha quality was fantastic and you could really taste the difference. My friend tried one of spring menu offerings, a peach based latte and loved it. There's very limited seating inside so be aware. Street parking outside. I can't wait to return!!

The black sesame flavor was strong and present, but I think the ube flavor was lacking. The earl gray ice cream has a very strong floral aftertaste. Earl gray has that tea taste usually, but it was very overpowering. The jade fog latte was good as a matcha with a lavender cold form but for $8 as a matcha with cold foam is steep. There's only about 5 tables in the store, but sometimes some ppl come here to study. Street parking is free nearby.

I remember seeing the signs before Leona's opened up on Penn last summer, and I had googled them…read moresince I was new to the area. Since then, I've seen Leona's ice cream sandwiches at various supermarkets, but it's always been a tad on the pricey side! I would also consider myself an ice-cream aficionado but I can't say the same about the sandwich form! Fast forward a year and somehow I see a menu for Leona's ice cream sandwiches and they are the most luxurious combinations I had ever seen! I was under the impression that everything was dairy-free so I knew I had to finally stop by! We had dinner down the street and we absolutely had to stop by for dessert. Service was friendly from the moment we came in, and in addition to getting some very tasty samples I even learned the wallpaper was designed by the same woman who worked on the team art for the NFL Draft this year! Anyways, ice cream was delicious. There's a rotating list of flavors, and I happened to try the raspberry ripple, ube, and strawberry. They all happened to be dairy free, but I'm not sure that everything on the menu actually is. Everything is clearly labeled though! I wasn't a fan of the cookies that day so I ended up going with a scoop. Scoop size descriptions were also excellent! The mini is a golf ball, and the regular is a tennis ball. The strawberry was DELICIOUS and I would absolutely get it again, I also don't know how I could walk by in the future without stepping in!

Pittsburgh favorite ice cream shop is opened for the season!!…read more One of those ice cream shops where if someone mentions it, you have to go. With so many creative flavors, desserts, and toppings there is something for everyone here. On warm days, wait time can be up to an hour but I promise it's worth the wait. There are informational walls on Page's backstory as you get closer to the ordering wall and a huge menu to look at as you get closer as well. In additional to ice cream, they also serve quick American diner-esque bites, coffees, and drinks. The highlight is the ice cream but these options are not bad as well.

Luckily, we live relatively close, so we have plenty of chances to drive by and hope for a shorter line. My usual order is the Arctic Swirl with vanilla ice cream and M&M's mixed in, which comes in medium or large. It's simple, nostalgic, and always hits the spot. My husband's go-to is the Nancy B sundae, which is another favorite in our family. Now that my toddler is 2, she loves going to the "ice cream store," which makes Page's feel even more special for us. I love that it's a multi-generational business and hope they continue to have success for many years to come.
