Great service and lots of hand dipped ice cream flavors. They even have multiple soft serve flavors. Love the artwork inside but they also have a drive thru. This is a must sweet treat stop read more

Yep, you can get a massive soft serve cone here! And hard ice cream as well. But I return for the basic chocolate and vanilla swirl cone... And this year I remembered to get a medium instead of a large because a large is like a foot tall! I'm not lying. Even the medium cone is probably at least 6 inches tall filled with ice cream and it's pretty heavy. But it's quite tasty and a medium cone was only four dollars. They do have a lot of other great soft serve flavors . You can't beat that. They have a drive thru window & parking on sides & in back. read more

I grew up with a little soft serve ice cream shop in walking distance from my house, and I know relish any opportunity to stop at one when I can. And the fact you can get two cones (one with sprinkles, as I have to have sprinkles) for less than $4 always amazes me. I don't think I could've eaten more than a small cone, as it was the perfect amount for me. read more

I saw this place headed to a doctors appointment. It wasn't open, I passed it again headed home and it was open and cars were in the drive through! It was so yummy! A medium (which was huge) was only $2.50! So worth it! Sadly the girls working weren't too friendly and kinda "cold" but the ice cream was great! read more

King Cones Castle - Putter pecan - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Butler, Pennsylvania

Funny wallpaper, good classic ice cream, tons of variety, CHEAP, and fast service. I was visiting a car dealership in the area and ran early for my appointment and craved something sweet like cake and ice cream. Yelp search yielded King Cones! Stopped by and very satisfied with the ice cream, the price, the hilarious themes with cows and such. Would definitely go again when in the area! read more

I am so sad that this review is not going to be as great as I thought it would be. We just moved to the area and have noticed the amount of cars lined up for what I thought would be quite the delectable treat. I had promised the family we would pull in the first time we didn't see a line in to the road. The day finally happened last weekend. I asked for a strawberry banana milkshake, orange slushie and a cone. The shake was made first and handed to me while they prepared the slushie. At first taste it reminded me of banana laughy taffy with no strawberry at all, the shake was yellow... I asked the young man if it was the right shake as they were busy and thought it may be someone else's. His response was a rude yes it yours with a huff. I told him it tasted like pure fake banana and didn't want it. Another worker asked what ordered and I told her and she said so what you want is a strawberry banana shake with a real banana as the young man rolled his eyes and stated then that's what you should've asked for. In my opinion most places do not have banana ice cream and if they do they are trained to ask fresh banana or banana soft serve. I was so put off that I just stated I was fine I didn't require anything else. The orange slushie was then served and it had zero syrup in it. It was basically just shaved ice. The cone was the only thing good. When it came time to pay the young man rang us up and still charged for the shake of which one sip was taken and it was thrown away by the employee himself (he threw it in the trash like an animal btw). I asked why when it was clearly not consumed due to taste alone would it not be comped? He went and asked another woman and she took it right off. I handed him my card which he grabbed and once swiped he through the card across the counter. Gave me a receipt and said not a word l, I asked why didn't I have to sign and he didn't answer. The person in front of us had to sign and only got 2 cones. So I left quite angry and bothered. I watched how he treated other patrons and it was a vast difference from the service we received. When I got home and calmed down I decided to call and speak to a manager, although she was pleasant I don't feel like it was handled very well. She offered a gift card and I denied as I was made to feel like a second class citizen in the way I was treated. I informed her that she should take that into consideration as if I was someone purely looking to gain from this experience, I would've accepted it. She apologized that she wasn't able to help me. I feel that I was discriminated against as no other person was treated with the disrespect that this young man treated us. I have left my number to be called by the owner or general manager and till have yet to receive a call. There are way better options in butler priced lower! read more

Great little shop to get a scoop of ice cream no matter the weather. I highly recommend this shop if you aren't in the mood for DQ in this town. Plenty of wonderful flavors to choose from, as well as outdoor seating. The drive thru also makes things 10 times better if you are in the run or want to bring your pup along for the ride. Their walls are also beautifully painted with many different characters and stories! Great fun for the whole family. read more

Little pricy but they have a huge selection to choose from, soft serve as well as hard serve. Kid friendly/family friendly atmosphere. We love the castle, cow and cone out front for photos. Twice I've visited through the drive through during the COVID-19 "green phase". Employees have masks on, but the masks are pulled down below their chins. Unacceptable. Will go to Mazzanti's Beans & Cream where employees wear their masks properly. read more

So many flavors. So many options. So, so cheap. Where to begin? My hubby and I come here once an awhile for a cheap sweet treat. While at most ice cream parlors would probably charge 8 bucks plus for a couple cones, here it's always less than $5. Standard cone has three scoops, which is a little excessive for me. I usually get one or two scoops. The Queen of Hearts flavor, with dark chocolate ice cream and chocolate-covered raspberry treats, is my favorite. German chocolate and mint moosetracks are good too, but there's enough to choose from that you'll find flavors you'll like. The hubby usually opts for chocolate soft serve. The medium cone there is practically bigger than my head. My biggest caveat: Bring cash. They accept cards, but add a $1 surcharge. The parking lot can be a little intimidating at times, especially with the drive through, but it's worth it. Come hungry. read more

The absolute best ice cream around. Hard and soft. The variety is massive and everyone can find something. A great selection of soft serve with verity's flavors that can be swirled in. Great sundaes and snowstorms (blizzards). Much better but than DQ which is evident by the frequent drive thru back up and lines inside. But they are very efficient with plenty of servers so lines move quickly. read more

COWS COWS COWS The walls here are a riot. I love the attention to detail. If you want ice cream please park your car and just enjoy some ice cream and look at their walls. Ordered a blueberry milkshake for my son. Figured it was flavored but instead has very thick blueberries blended in it and he didn't like it. When I drove back to the window I just mentioned that we ordered one that wasn't very good the girl immediately interrupted me and said well too bad you ordered it if you want something else you have to pay for it! After such rudeness I certainly will NEVER give them my business again! read more

To the older lady running register tonight....you are one of the worst service employees I've dealt with. It was like pulling teeth getting my order. My girl and I wanted a simple order of 2 small sundaes. You asked if I wanted nuts and cream. When I asked if that was extra price and how much I didn't need your sassy attitude. A simple "extra .50 cents sir" would be a great answer. But hey you're 50 some yrs old so you know better than a young punk 28 year old don't you..... by the way instead of eating my sundae I threw it out the window in spite. read more

One of the best ice cream places in the Pittsburgh area, and definitely worth stopping if you're in the area. They have a huge selection of flavors, and including a great range of uncommon and seasonal flavors. Price are great, and be warned - serving sizes are huge. A medium soft serve cone is bigger than a large most other places. They have a drive through, but I'd strongly suggest going inside to order. They have some really fun murals on the walls, and it's worth going in to check out the different flavors available. Service has always been friendly and fast every time, and the combination of low prices and huge sizes makes this by far my favorite ice cream stop. Bring cash, though. They add on a surcharge for credit/debit cards. read more

The variety of ice cream flavors available here is great, but varies from season to season. They do soft serve and hard ice cream. They have a limited selection of yogurt, but not any with active bacteria in it. They have a selection of different cones, shakes, "Blizzards" (they call them Flurries), pop, "Icee" or "Slurpee" type drinks, and iced coffee flavors available. The serving size you get for the price is excellent. You can request free samples to decide which flavor you want to buy. If a flavor you like isn't a "seller" they may not have it available the next time you come. Drive-through service is available. OPEN ALL YEAR!! :-) There is an additional charge of $1.00 for any credit or debit card purchases. read more

I recently returned to King Cones searching for the blue moon ice cream I raved about in my last review. Not only do they no longer sell it, but when I got a different flavor (which wasn't that good), I was so disappointed by the amount of ice cream I was given. The prices seemed to have risen and the portion sizes actually got smaller. This place just isn't the same as it used to be. At this rate, I will not be returning. read more
