I was concerned that we would be in a time crunch since we were going to see a movie right after but we were seated, had our orders taken, and the meal delivered within 5 minutes. The quickness was incredible. I've waited longer at McDonald's. The efficiency was perfect and the quality of the meal was not sacrificed. My Wife and I both ordered chicken fajitas. The chips and salsa were standard and fine. The chicken fajitas weren't bad, but my Wife and I felt like they were very bland. The rice was similar, it just didn't have much flavor to them. The one thing that stood out ti me were the refried beans. I thought they were above average, but that was it. We haven't been here in about 6 months and weren't disappointed. No reservation needed on a Wednesday evening. Seated right away. They brought us chips and salsa (free) While we waited for our dinner of street tacos, and they came with refried beans and rice. The server was very pleasant and the decor was very comfortable and clean. The street tacos order came with 4 small tacos seasoned to perfection with beef or chicken, diced onion, cilantro and cheese (you can add or subtract items), and chili verde sauce. We stopped for lunch. The food was good, not great, but good. It came very quickly. Our waiter was great and attentive. BUT I'm still in sticker shock! $22 for 4 soft tacos, no sides. $4 per fountain drink. We ordered an additional two lunch specials around $12 each and one extra side of salsa. The quesadilla was pretty boring, and was more like a chicken soft taco than quesadilla. The bill for three people for lunch was $62! This seems incredibly high. Yes, I take full responsibility for not looking at the per taco cost or the fountain drink price but I can't recall having paid that much for that kind of food....ever! For years I thought their food was pretty good, but in the last year or so, they redid the menu and really upped their game. Now the food is outstanding. It's a little more expensive than it had been, but it's well worth it. It's hard to go wrong ordering anything there, but I particularly recommend the a la carte tacos. The Guadalajara Special is also great. We like to order family-style so we can all try a little of everything. Born and raised in San Diego, CA on carne asada fries, California burritos, rice and beans. Mexican food was a staple of my diet -- ate it probably 4 times per week my entire life. And then we moved out of state, first to Texas and then to PA. Tried what seemed like a million Mexican restaurants and taco shops and was really never satisfied. And while Rey Azteca isn't exactly the same style as SoCal Mexican cuisine inspired by the Baja Peninsula, it's DAMN GOOD FOOD. Rey Azteca in Butler was easily our favorite restaurant in Butler and the best Mexican food we've had in PA the last 2 years. I particularly enjoy their burritos that are smothered and covered in the cheese sauce. They're decadent. Service was always good for dine in or take out, the place was always busy but we never had to wait long either. Only thing I wish they'd change is to add liquor somehow. The only thing that makes dinner at a Mexican restaurant better is a cold cerveza or margarita. read more

We just moved to the area and we're excited to try new restaurants in the area. To say this place was disappointing is an understatement. We all ordered a combination meal and it was extremely underwhelming. The burrito just had meat with no other topping other than the shared enchilada sauce. Flavors were very bland for being Mexican, I'm not sure if they have to tame it down for the people in PA, but this restaurant wouldn't last a day in Fl. Last is my biggest complaint is the fact that you only get 1 basket of chips and salsa and have to pay for each additional. Ummm there were 3 of us paying on 3 separate tabs, why could we not have gotten at least 1 more. I never thought I'd say this, but save your money and go to Taco Bell... Butler is extremely lucky to have Rey Azteca. I have had a lot of Mexican food outside of our small town, and the food rivals some of the best Mexican food I have eaten. The Mole Poblanos Enchiladas are my favorite menu item, but their Enchiladas Suizas is also delicious. Everything is super flavorful and fresh. Also, the guacamole is excellent as well as their freshly made salsa. It has a nice garlicky flavor and is super flavorful without being spicy. I personally like spice, but this way my kids can eat it too, which they do! Lastly, service is always excellent. Lets start with they only give you ONE basket of chips. There was 3 of us so the chips went fast, asked for more and was told theres a charge for more chips. My friend ordered the 3 green enchilada dinner. It was bland and cold, And thats all you get, 3 enchiladas. Nothing else. $16. WAAAAAY over priced. I asked for one single enchilada with extra salsa verde on the side, what I got was a cold open tortilla with chicken in it and sauce on the side. Nothing else on it. My son ordered a burrito and was very happy with it, but again..extremely over priced. FYI no alcohol. Skip this place. NOT worth it. read more

Finally stopped here after reading the good reviews. All accurate. We were seated quickly and given some really good salsa with delicious tortilla chips. If you're a chips and salsa addict like me you should probably note that refills on the chips and salsa are $3 haha! Then again if you are like me that doesn't bother you much. We were shocked how quickly our food was brought out after ordering. We normally have a longer wait at most places. I ordered the lunch flautas and my friend got the lunch chimichanga. We were both impressed with the food. Probably the best place I have tried in PA so far. I have found that no matter where I have ordered a flauta the chicken inside is usually a little crisp. It doesn't bother me and I understand it all has to do with how it was cooked. They managed to keep the chicken very tender inside here. It was a pleasant switch up for me. The guacamole served alongside was wonderful. The cheese sauce on top of the flautas threw me off but it was also good. Their prices were adorable and the service was excellent. read more
