AFTER YOU ORDER AND PAY AND GET YOUR FOOD....They tell you the dining room is closed and you will need to eat in the parking lot. Why the Hostess/Cashier did not tell anyone is beyond me. Manager and assistant manager did not care and were very arrogant and blamed COVID. THEY WERE JERKS ABOUT IT. NOT GOING BACK UNTIL AFTER COVID. And when my family entered the store, a gentleman was leaving and held the door open for us. There was no way that I could have seen the little 8x11 printed page taped to the door. I suspect the person who left the inappropriate feedback was the manager because the note was as just as arrogant and ignorant as the asst mngr I met at the store. If you like being dismissed and cancelled and your kids forced to eat in the parking lot in the rain while the entire dining room sits empty... and called "retarded" for challenging them on their deceptive practices and lack of communication... then this restaurant is for you. Since the pandemic, my family's and my dining experiences at Panera Bread have been very inconsistent. I know this has been a challenging time for everyone, including suppliers and restaurants. My daughter and I had not wanted to go back, yet did because my Granddaughter wanted to go. In the past we've had chicken with an off taste and texture, greens that have gone bad, missing ingredients. This time I ordered the Mediterranean Veggie sandwich, I just did not want to take a chance on the salad. As I told the employee who made the sandwich, it was the best Mediterranean Veggie sandwich I have ever had, and I've been going to Panera Bread for over 10 years. It was an encouraging visit. I went in for a sweet treat for my daughter and decided to try a coffee since I hadnt ordered one from there in probably 10 plus years. I went with a large vanilla cold brew and thought that would be a solid choice as I was running low on energy. I got it and it looked really light colored..I sipped it and it just tasted like vanilla milk. I was really disappointed. They were packed so I didn't take it back and ask for actual coffee to be added to my cold brew. Super disappointed I spent $7+ dollars on whole milk. read more

This review is mostly about the food since most of the time, I get my order to go, so I can't really review the service other than I don't have to wait too long for my order. I agree that panera's prices are a little on the high side considering you are getting sandwiches and soups, but I think it's reasonable, at least to me, since they do serve fresh bread and healthy options. So what do I get here? the turkey avocado sandwich with chicken noodle soup or grilled cheese with tomato soup. The french onion soup is also good. I also like the cinnamon crunch bagel. I haven't tried any pasta dishes here other than the side of mac and cheese, which is also good. So far, the food has not disappointed me. I will update if I see any issues with service. read more

Here's the dealio..... This has happened multiple times and I'm highly unpleased with the lack of care to put out a high quality product for the high price tag. I order a sandwich with some type of avocado, and the past FIVE times i have been given ONE small slice of avocado that is inedible due to the rubber texture it has. For an $8 sandwich there should be at least two slices of EDIBLE avocado. Next, I was given a chicken salad with NO chicken.... TWICE. Also my mom received a salad with no dressing and her sandwich looked like it was thrown together by a 5 yr old. I agree with other comments. Staff is rude and I don't think I EVER saw a table being cleaned since the place opened about 10 years ago. Husband wanted a pecan roll and staff said corporate got rid of them. He told her he wasn't happy. She said tell it to corporate. Panera's website says they replaced pecan roll with a cheaper (for Panera) almond roll...and that's suppose to be a good thing. read more

I have a bday party to attend later on tonight so I wanted something quick and light . I always try to eat one of many new menu items when I eat here. I ordered the Thai Garden chicken won ton broth bowl to go. I was excited to have a won ton that did not contain mystery meat . This broth was so flavorful. The broth was jammed packed with spinach mushrooms ginger and broccoli. The won tons were so delicious the chicken inside was well seasoned. Most of the employees are very rude, they seem to be annoyed with every person that walks in the door. It almost makes a person too scared to order because of the comments/attitude that the employees working the line give. Don't get me wrong, there are some nice employees - mainly the cashiers and the general manager. But the ones working behind the food line are angry and miserable. The two ladies are very mean, I think they are in assistant manager/shift supervisor positions...I think they need new jobs. You are treated like dirt and they roll their eyes at people all the time. Stay away. The food is subpar at best, the lettuce is wilted and the salads don't even fill half of the bowl they come in. One of the worst Panera Bread locations that I have ever used for catering. They do not have a concept of time when I had placed the order two days in advance. This was bothersome to me since I had a lunch appointment with a client and was feeding the staff. There was just no sense of urgency here. I had asked that the sandwiches have spreads on the side.... this did not happen. They make the sandwiches earlier in the morning so by the time they are served, they get mushy. The order was wrong... I was in a hurry so could not have them fix it. I want to thank the manager and staff of Panera Bread of Butler, PA on 330 New Castle Rd for their wonderful customer service. I live out of town and needed a delivery made to a residence in Butler for a very important occasion that I wasn't able to attend. I made and scheduled my order more than 24 hrs ahead of time through DoorDash. I received a confirmation from DoorDash for my transaction immediately. One hour before they were to deliver my order, DoorDash texted me and canceled my order. Unacceptable!! I was panicked. I called Panera immediately and they rectified my situation with ease and professionalism. The food arrived to my family and everyone said the everything was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend Butler Panera not only for the delicious food but also the customer service. Thank you, Butler Panera staff for your kindness. You saved the day for me. Panera has been going downhill for years but this has to be the worst location around. Always dirty tables for one thing. Last visit on a Saturday night around 6:00 p.m. NO pastries at all, no broccoli cheddar soup. Get our order and sit down to eat then we hear them say they have more B/C soup again. What the %#@&?. Would have been better off going to Texas Roadhouse or Red Lobster. Might have taken longer but it wouldn't cost that much more and would be a better experience. My first this morning at ordering bagels for a group. To put it mildly, the person who waited on me was anything but pleasant. I know work there can be high stress, but put someone pleasant in a position that will be greeting people!! I had a employee named Rebecca, it seemed to be a pain that she even greeted me. We crawled through the order and I asked if the cream cheese was in the bag, she looked at me like I was an A hole and said "And did you order some?" Would it have been that hard to mention at order process, "and would you like any toppings?" Then she strolled back to the register and without even looking at me moaned "What flavor do you want?" There were people behind me in line! It ticked me off that I was embarrassed due to her rudeness!! My first instinct was to be rude back, but I opted to be a better person. Came here at 6:15 p.m. today (Sunday, September 11). I ordered a "you pick two" with the turkey avocado BLT and chicken noodle soup. I had raspberry tea to drink, purchased a cookie for an extra $0.99, and had a baguette as my side. The sandwich was pretty good, but there should have been more than one slice of deli turkey and one dime-size dollop of avocado. For $5.49, the sandwich was microscopic. The soup had adequate noodles but lacked everything else. It tasted salty but not too salty. Unfortunately, my soup was COLD. Not room temperature, COLD. This is UNACCEPTABLE and my soup was INEDIBLE. Oh, well, that's $4 I'll never get back. The baguette I received was rock-hard. I get that baguettes are supposed to be a hard bread; I couldn't even chew it. I'm 22 years old and have all of my original teeth! Again, UNACCEPTABLE. Next comes that $0.99 cookie. It was advertised as a warm cookie, which it wasn't. I got a chocolate chip cookie reluctantly after they were out of both brownies and triple chocolate cookies (seeing that my first two choices were both null and void, I really just wanted my $0.99 back but couldn't since I'd already paid). Anyway, the cookie was cold, hard, and tasted burnt. Panera is a BAKERY. Come on! This meal cost $13+ and the only really edible parts were the half of a sandwich and the raspberry tea. I was not asked by the cashier if I had a Panera card, and no one thanked me for spending time and money here tonight. My friend ordered a steak and onion sandwich (hold the onion) with a side of macaroni. You guessed it; the sandwich laced with onion, the macaroni cold. Will NOT be returning to this Panera. I've actually had enough bad experiences at Panera as a whole that tonight might have been the straw that broke the camel's back. Maybe I'll try Panera again in six months or a year.
