Stopped here to get my daughter-in-law's favorite dessert for her birthday and some other treats. My granddaughter wanted the macarons. We found them to be just average, compared to the excellent ones from the French bakery near us. They have an efficient system that gets people in and out of the store quickly, even on a busy day. If you're in the area - it's definitely worth stopping to see what they have.
Went here for the first time and for a turkey sausage breakfast croissant sandwich and it was delicious, also paired it with a tiramisu coffee which was delicious. The whole bakery was packed and had many options to choice from, I picked up some cookies which I almost ate in one sitting lol. Definitely can't wait to try more later on and the workers were nice and quick.
Stopped by here on a Friday morning because again it is a must when we come to Pittsburgh. Oakmont bakery has a large selection of bakery items as well as fresh made bread, and café style dining. We ended up with four donuts with cream, two maple & bacon donuts, two vanilla and coconut cream doughnuts, and two razzleberry macaroons as well as two almond macaroons. All of the baked items are delicious and now this place is incredibly busy and finding parking can be a challenge. They have a very large extended lot just down the street but even then on a busy day like it was today it can be hard to find parking so you may have to circle a few times.
Another 5/5. Little bit of a line today but it's always work the wait. Ordered at the kiosk my favorite sandwich the caprese with everything on it, hot, grilled chicken, Pittsburgh company pickle on the side. Also got a yuzu lavendar lemonade from the summer sips beverage menu. I sat at the outside tables and read a book. Very relaxing!
Coming from California, this place absolutely blew me away! The selection is top-tier, but the prices are what really shocked me--back home, a bakery of this caliber would easily cost 4x as much. Even with the lower prices, the quality is incredible. I picked up several Tigertails, chocolate chip cookies, and the carrot cake, and everything was amazing. I'm honestly glad I don't live nearby because I would live in this bakery! I visited midday on a Wednesday, so it wasn't too busy and parking was easy. The staff was excellent, very friendly and patient as I took everything in. It's a beautiful, clean spot that would even be great for a casual date. A must-visit if you're in the Pittsburgh area.
We made a pitstop here while traveling through Pittsburgh. I love Burnt Almond Tortes and heard Oakmont Bakery made a good one. I definitely heard right. This is a huge bakery and it may seem overwhelming at first, but it's actually not bad. This place is packed, and they have a deli number system where you get a number and they'll call you up when it's your turn. It went faster than I thought and our counter person was very friendly. We ordered two Tortes as well as a chocolate cupcake and a maple bacon doughnut. The donut was delicious but the Burnt Almond Torte hit the spot. It had the perfect amount of sweetness and quite filling. I could not eat it all in one sitting. I will definitely be returning.
Amazing bakery with an enormous selection that is near impossible to chose from. Everything we had there was fantastic though. It was crowded but their customer service system was extremely well organized. The aesthetic of the establishment is very appealing and comfortable. A must visit that receives the highest recommendation from me!
THE BAKERY of PITTSBURGH! I swear everyone from out of town somehow already knows about Oakmont Bakery. And it is worth the hype!! From can't miss treats, to new creations, to seasonal items that perfectly celebrate Pittsburgh. I mean... even the social media of the bakery is hilarious and entertaining. The coolest part is that a bakery with this many options and this much fandom! You are still are in and out in a timely manner. They have an abundance of cheerful workers that constantly are shuffling through each customer via "take a number" system... and the display is so massive that you can easily see everything that you are interested in. Great selection. Happy customers. Holiday music playing. What more could you want!!
Oakmont Bakery is a Pittsburgh favorite and for good reason! I recently picked up two small birthday cakes, one for my mother-in-law, and one for my son's first birthday. Both cakes were beautiful and tasted amazing. While we were there to pick them up, we couldn't resist checking out the huge selection of desserts and baked goods. We grabbed a few donuts to enjoy there, and they were fresh, fluffy, and delicious. The staff is always so friendly and very efficient!
This is a bakery on crack! Way too overwhelming and commercial but not? Packed parking lot! Where to go? How do I see the goodies? Which line do I stand in? This place is too much. The sign about grabbing a ticket or not was very confusing. JUST GRAB A TICKET! Luckily our server was super nice and patient. We were lucky enoughnto find some open chair in front of the fireplace but it's a loud place. The cannoli was a cannoli. My daughter said the frosting was too sweet innthe mini cake. The chocolate chip cookies were delicious and the strawberry cheese ake was good. What I did love: the prices! For the pure and simple fact that they offer a lot for an extremely low cost I wish I had a bakery like this near me but I would want it to be less chaotic in the parking lot and more peaceful but I guess you cant have your cake and eat it too... This business also has a cafe that sells foods such as bagels, croissants, breakfast sandwiches, cheese breads, crepes, frozen custards, pastries, salads, sandwiches, soups, waffles, and beverages. For years, I have visited this business to purchase their baked goods. This review will provide information about some of my most recent experiences. About two years ago, I held a 50th wedding anniversary party for my in-laws, and from Oakmont Bakery, I purchased a half-sheet chocolate cake, a half-sheet vanilla cake, and two dozen apricot kolache cookies. The cut-off time for ordering customized cakes was only 2 days, but about 2 months before the party, I used Oakmont Bakery's website to order the two cakes. The website gave me many options for size, shape, inscription wording, and flavors of batter, filling, and icing. I easily figured out how to place the order and to choose a pickup time. On the day of pickup, my two cakes were ready on time and were handed to me in sturdy boxes. To buy the apricot kolache cookies, I took a number and waited until my number was called for purchasing and paying. At the party, my mom-in-law said that she enjoyed the chocolate cake, so I later ordered Oakmont Bakery's chocolate cake for her birthday. I do not usually like chocolate cakes, but I ate one piece of Oakmont Bakery's chocolate cake and enjoyed every bite of it. I also liked the flavors of the vanilla cake and the apricot kolache. Most recently, in 2025, my husband and I shopped here for baked goods. I rate the fruit tart as 4.5 stars, the the peanut-butter-fudge dulce as 5 stars (wonderfully rich!), the cherry danish as 4.5 stars, the the cheese danish as 4 stars, and the bunkerhill roll (like a cinnamon roll with no icing) as 4.5 stars.

We ordered our wedding cake and five dozen donuts from Oakmont Bakery, and everything was fantastic. The cake was beautiful, exactly what we envisioned, and tasted just as good as it looked. The donuts were a huge hit with our guests--fresh, delicious, and gone quickly! Per usual, it was bustling and busy there when we went to order. But the ordering process was smooth and professional, and the staff was helpful when finalizing details. Pickup was easy and everything was packaged well and ready to go. We were able to return the donut stand for a $100 refund as promised so it was a very economical wedding decision. We'd order from Oakmont Bakery again for future events. Highly recommend!

I've been to Oakmont bakery many times for baked goods, but I had never eaten at the cafe. I'm so glad I decided to try it out! You order on a kiosk and then wait for your name to be called. I got the s'mores latte and the avocado toast. The latte was sweet without being overwhelming. The avocado toast was nicely seasoned. Other than the cafe area, my favorite baked item is probably the dolces. They are a great way to try new flavors without the commitment of an entire cake. We got an almond dolce to take home with use. We went on a Saturday morning which is definitely one of the busiest times. It is always busy in the bakery, but they move efficiently and the waiting allows for time to look at the bakery cases and decide what you want. Overall, a bustling bakery with anything you could want, including bread, cakes, cookies, and custom orders. read more
Happy doughsant season! We got 6 doughsants(1 Pittsburgh cream which was a little much for us) and the rest plain. I think they could just be sold without the icing bc you really eat it for the texture and flakiness. The donuts were delicious as always! The filled donuts were stuffed with filling and were perfect. The blueberry donut could use some more even glazing. read more
This place is a sight to see! Huge building with extensive menu and baked goods options. They have a little cafe inside with made to order food (breakfast bagel sandwiches and burritos were 10/10!!). Made to order food did take some time as it was very busy on the Saturday morning we stopped in! The bakery and baked goods options were mesmerizing! Nearly anything you can think of, and seasonal variations as well. I needed to reel myself in a bit so I didn't buy one of everything. It all looked amazing! However, in my opinion many big bakeries that LOOK amazing rarely stand up to the same standard when it comes to taste. I am happy to say Oakmont bakery was not one of those!!! The taste and texture of the goodies we got was exceptional, and fully matched the look of the pastries. I got to Oakmont Bakery around mid-morning. I was off work and decided it was the perfect time to grab some paczkis! My number was 107 and they were on number 50+ when I pulled my ticket. I thought I'd be there for hours; I was in and out in 45 minutes. They and I missed my mini fruit tart so I have to return, but I'm here for it! The staff is attentive and friendly. The selection is amazing and replenished routinely. The bakery is clean and orderly with numerous cashier stations and prepackaged areas that allow for speed and ease unless you want specialty selections that you have to wait to order. The restaurant are is set aside with views outside and a quaint fire place to relax by. It's a top bakery in the Pgh region for a reason, and it never disappoints! read more
We went on a very busy Sunday and didn't have to wait long. Finding a table was near impossible so we just did items from the bakery and weren't disappointed. The mini Oakmonter is my favorite but the real reason we went was for Paczki and my husband was thrilled to get the cream filled ones. Everything was delicious, as always. We also went to the bathroom while we were there and it was clean as well so that's a plus to me! read more
Seriously, what don't they have here! First walking in the door, it can be a little overwhelming...what to choose, the numbers being read out loud, a lot of people. My suggestion would be to walk around before getting a number and figure out what you want. Feels like I need to go back about 10 more times just to try the things that looked good. Tried the oatmeal cookie (my favorite, very cinnamon forward but soft), blueberry danish (strong blueberry flavor with a light pastry and icing), blueberry muffin (good, nothing that blew me away) and a cinnamon donut twist (not originally what I asked for but it was still good - don't wait to eat until next day). read more
I drove from Cleveland Ohio to specifically come to this location. Let me tell you that the Internet doesn't do this place justice. Holy cow. We're there so many different options to choose from. Almost too many. But I looked through them all and make many great choices. And I'll be the first to tell you that I was not wrong. My choices tasted delicious. The place was bustling with about 50 people and there were plenty of staff to take care of everyone in a smooth and quick transaction. My person was extremely friendly and even gave us information about certain things that I didn't know what they were. You truly need to visit this place. It's awesome. read more

I ordered two cakes for my mom's party and although online ordering is very easy I wanted to customize my cakes and I'm very specific once I decide what I want. They delivered and executed my vision to perfection! I did like the almond cake with fruit way better than the chocolate but that's just my preference. I ordered several dozen different rolls also and they were all very good. read more
Biggest bakery ever been in my life. Everything was so tempting. It does get very busy but I like the structure they have. You take a ticket and wait for your number to be called and then one of the workers will help you get your order together. I can't even recommend anything. Honestly whatever you see that catches your eye, get it. It will be good. The only downside is that I'm never in this area so I don't get to go as often but that might be good for my blood sugar! read more

Yes, their desserts are delicious. Service is efficient, and the food never disappoints. BUT, my absolute favorite thing from Oakmont Bakery is their chicken caesar wrap. My god, it is delicious. Definitely try it out from the cafe! read more
I ordered my son's first birthday smash cake from Oakmont Bakery and it was perfect! Firstly, they charge less than $10 for the smash cake. I was so happy with this because, well, it's a smash cake lol. I didn't want to pay a ton for something that is supposed to get smashed haha. It was super cutely decorated and it obviously tasted good - my son loved it! Secondly, when my husband brought it home after picking up, it had slid off the plate and was smashed into the side of the lid. Needless to say I was panicking! My husband called the bakery right away and asked if they were able to fix it. They were super willing to and made it look perfect again! They did mention it may have not been my husband's fault and may have been the bag they put it in haha. Overall, great experience! read more

How can you do better than Oakmont Bakery? The place is always spotless and it never takes too long to get served.....always lots of employees. You can't go wrong with their danish, Bunker Hills, cinnamon rolls, and scones.....BUT, do yourself a favor and grab a sandwich there too. They are superb. I frequently get the Jacked Turkey (peppered turkey with pepperjack cheese, bacon, and I add spicy ranch). read more

A 5-Star Hotel for Baked Goods... and My New Happy Place All I can say is: WOW. Oakmont Bakery isn't just a bakery--it's a sugar empire. This place has more square footage than my first house and more baked goods than my brain could process without going into frosting overload. We're talking five-star bakery meets luxury hotel lobby. Chandeliers of cupcakes. A skyline of cookies. A pastry promenade. I half-expected someone to offer me a hot towel and a spa treatment made entirely of buttercream. I went in for a couple dozen donuts. That was the plan. A simple, controlled, reasonable mission. What happened next was more like a grocery cart heist. I barely escaped without adopting a hamburger-shaped cake, a loaf of monkey bread, and possibly a croissant that winked at me. The selection? Massive. Like "Is there a second floor?" kind of massive. There are entire countries with fewer options. If you're ever within 100 miles of Oakmont and don't stop in--are you okay? Blink twice if you need help. Oakmont Bakery: Come for the donuts, leave questioning all your life choices and with a trunk full of pastries you definitely didn't plan for. read more

It's huge and they have so many options. All the stuff I've tried is good and ive tried quite a bit. Its not mind blowing by any means but its good. Biggest issue w this place is how absurdly crowded it gets. I would absolutely avoid this place during the weekends or during any kind of rush hour. Its not worth it when its chaotic like that. I will say though it does go fast but still, its horribly chaotic especially when youre trying to figure out what you want, trying to look at all the pastries through the glass w so many people crowding the space. Save yourself the headache and go during a less busy day/hour! read more

I think one of the best feelings in the world is when you feel like a kid and that's exactly how I felt the second I walked in. Everything in the store looks absolutely incredible, and I'm glad I had to wait a little while to order because I genuinely wanted to try every single cookie, donut, cupcake, and everything they have. I love chocolate so ended up getting a chocolate cupcake that had a chocolate mousse topping encased in a hard chocolate shell. I'm sometimes a little skeptical that things look too good to be true but all my worries immediately went away after my first bite. The cupcake was perfect from the sweetness to the different chocolate aspects being a perfect combo together it was incredible. If my roommates don't get me their hamburger cake for my birthday I will likely be looking for a new place to live. read more
This place should be a tourist attraction. The amount of desserts and breads that they carry could be overwhelming. You take a number since they are so busy. I was surprised how fast their service is with how huge the selection is and the amount of people. They definitely have it together. Being from out of town I grabbed a lot of items knowing I can't come back as easily. I grabbed a lot expecting to go broke. I was shocked how cheap everything was with as much as I got. Kathy was an amazing help. She was great with advice and very patient as I started at one end and worked my way down the other. You can also get drinks and food there to eat. They have many tables. If I'm ever in the area again I will for sure return. Pure heaven! read more
