This bakery is so cute! I was out in the area and searched my maps for a bakery. So glad Sugar Butter Bakery popped up. I chose a half dozen cupcakes and half dozen cookies. I will drive back just for the cookies! Some of the best I have ever had and I am not a typical cookies lover. Their cupcake vanilla icing was delicious. I do not like overly sweet and this was wonderful. I look forward to stopping in again soon!

Walking into this bakery I could smell the fresh scents of homemade baked goods and believe me is shows. I got to speaker to Aggie who makes all their delicious goods. Everything here is fresh and made from scratch. Whether you are looking for quick breads, pepperoni rolls, monkey bread, or strawberry pretzel salad, Sugar Butter bakery offers a diverse selection of baked goods for you to take home. I had seen they make the "Hostess" style cupcake so I knew I had to have one of those. Instead of making cinnamon bread Aggie creates it in the form of a muffin. Day old items such as danishes are on the bottom shelf. Prices here are very reasonable for what you get. They also serve coffee here as well. I ended up getting a cinnamon roll muffin, a banana chocolate chip bread, a Hostess cupcake and a red velvet cupcake for my husband. Cards are accepted here as well as cash. As soon as I got home I wanted to at least try to cinnamon muffin. It literally was so fresh and out of this world delicious!! I could smell the freshness in both cupcakes and after refrigerating them I already know they will be good. I'm glad to have found a great bakery so close to where I live. Sugar Butter bakery occupies the space formerly held by Krista's deli in Carnegie. Metered street parking is available.

Love this place! They are multi generational and the sweetest ladies around. The pastries are A+ and same with the cookies. I'm not a cupcake gal, but I can tell you that if you see monkey bread, snag it. So good! I make the 15 min drive to get here almost once a week. The quality for the price.. unbeatable.

So wonderful to have a bakery in Carnegie again. I dropped In around 11:30am & there wasn't much in the case. Decided on a sugar butter cookie and some cupcakes. The cookie was wonderful, soft & fresh. The vanilla cupcake was moist and the icing was perfect. Wasn't too sweet at all. I'm not a fan of really sugary icing but this icing was perfect. Next time I'll try to go a little earlier to get a cinnamon roll. Everyone was so kind and welcoming here, I will surely be back.

Cinnamon bun, cheese Danish and 2 cookies. Sorry about the bites. I'm only human.

It's so good I honestly don't know what to say. The sugar butter cookie is the best cookie on Earth and the cinnamon bun is better. The cannoli is special. Really special. They had a cheese Danish today. I just finished it and couldn't wait to write this review. The cupcakes are perfect size and yummy. Big fan! They are super nice too.

Trying to plan a bridal shower from another state can be difficult, but this place made it so much better! She listened to what i wanted , and I gave her total creative control over the cake and cupcakes and i was NOT disappointed. These came out amazing!!!! Everyone at the shower raved about how good they were! Thank you!

Fresh, tasty and large portions! I believe you could split all my treats--cookies, brownies--between 2 or 3 people. Friendly service, too.

The prices are higher than other places, but the food is absolutely excellent. Their gnocchi is *superb*, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. My husband tried some of my dish and immediately agreed. I didn't say anything to the staff at the time because I didn't want to cause a scene, and I wasn't sure whether this was somehow normal since I had never had linguini carbonara. After getting home, I looked into whether carbonara is supposed to have such a strong, foul smell and was shocked to learn that it definitely should not. Apparently, certain aged cheeses can develop high levels of butyric acid, an acid associated with the rancid, manure-like odor I experienced. Whatever the cause, the dish was completely inedible to me. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. My husband had the creamed corn pasta that was a special, it was as if someone cooked some noodles and then dumped half a can of cream corn on top. We were very disappointed as this dish was highly recommended by our waitress.

Cut out the middleman. Go straight to the source. Pros:…read moreSure, Mediterra sells their bread by the loading docks of their bakery. Sure, they are located in a business park. But when you can buy bread that literally just came out of the oven, or croissants, pastries, muffins, and scones that were just made an hour ago, you've got to come here. They will even slice your bread if you ask, which is service that goes above and beyond. Cons: You will not be blown away by the ambiance. The bread is sold literally in the entrance way of the business. You may be parking next to an 18-wheelers loading or unloading. But who cares, their bread is awesome! Summary: Mediterra has quickly become my favorite bakery on the west side of Pittsburgh.

Products include deli loaves (e.g., multigrain, challah, pumpernickel, rye, and sourdough), sandwich buns (e.g., white, wheat, pretzel, and potato), table loaves (e.g., ciabatta, Italian, chili cheddar, chocolate cherry, focaccia, and pecan cranberry), dinner rolls (e.g., challah, French, onion poppy, and rosemary), and baguettes (e.g., sourdough, multigrain, and sesame seminola). I saw on their website that they also have a cakehouse that bakes custom cakes with various icings, fillings, and toppings. For my first purchase, I ordered five breads from Mediterra Bakehouse. All of the breads were a very large size and were fresh, and they cost about several dollars each. Here are my reviews for them: Farm deli loaf - 3 stars - The physical shape and design of this bread was gorgeous, but the flavor was a little plain. Challah hamburger buns - 4 stars - These hamburger buns tasted good. They were very large, so I had extra bread around my hamburger patties. Mt. Athos fire bread - 3 stars - This wheat bread was a generous size, but it tasted slightly plain. Hawaiian dinner rolls - 5 stars - These dinner rolls were moist and had a slightly sweet flavor. Parmesan pepper loaf - 2 stars - This bread contained way too much pepper and too little parmesan. It was so peppery that I threw away most of it. UPDATE on December 26, 2021: A few weeks ago, I rated this business as 3 stars, but I am now increasing my rating to 4 stars after I bought three more of Mediterra's breads. Here are my reviews for the breads: Stollen - 5 stars - This bread contained nuts and dried/candied fruits, and it was covered in powdered sugar. My husband and I really enjoyed the taste of this bread. Chocolate cherry - 4 stars - This bread loaf contained cocoa powder, dark chocolate, and dried cherries. I prefer milk over dark chocolate, but I still enjoyed the flavor of this unique bread. Pecan cranberry - 4.5 stars - This wheat bread contained cranberries and pecans. I really liked the combination of flavors.

Quality depends somewhat on what you order, but there is some really good stuff here. Of everything I have tried here, the large cinnamon rolls are my favorite. They have the perfect amount of moistness and softness, use a good amount of cinnamon within the roll, and feature an amazing cream cheese frosting that is not overly sweet and does not overpower the comforting cinnamon flavor. The muffins are also high quality and stay moist throughout the week if you get a dozen. I especially like the almond and cherry flavored muffins. My dad says he cannot tell the difference between the muffins at Potomac bakery and the muffins at Giant Eagle, and that may well be true as Giant Eagle has some good stuff though I have never tried both to compare. They are even better freshly toasted with a little Irish butter on top. If you are going to get a doughnut here, the cream filled ones are probably your best bet because they use high quality cream. I would personally skip the scones because the scones can be a bit dry and bland and are probably my least favorite thing I have tried here. In conclusion I recommend the large cinnamon rolls, the muffins, and if you go for a donut you must get a cream filled one.
