First off, we've complimented the owner/staff as to how impressed we were relative to the cleanliness of the place, particularly the display case. We didn't see one stray crumb both times we were there! It's primarily a bakery but they seem to have daily lunch specials too. For the bakery items, our favorites are the fritters (great with your morning coffee), some kind of crème-filled éclair-style pastry (soooo good,...but soooo bad for you,...see the close-up of the picture as to how it's overflowing with the filling), and the cherry pastry. The lady locks (sp.?) were OK, but different than the ones we're used to. The cinnamon bun we tried was a little dry for us,...but might be a good coffee dipper. As for the lunch specials, we've had the sausage and meatball subs. From what I can remember, they were really inexpensive (think they were $3.50 when we bought them). Tasty, buns super fresh - something I would order again. The prices were super reasonable and the young lady who waited on us couldn't be more friendly. Would we go back? Absolutely! Just wish they would advertise more locally (like on local FB pages,...hint, hint) to remind folks they are still around.

BEST. CHEESECAKE.EVER…read more It would put cheesecake factory to shame. I used a Groupon to get $10 off, since the cheesecake here is roughly $30 for a whole one, but it is very big, and trust me, it is the most amazing dessert you'll ever have. The crust is a graham cracker crust, so thick and buttery!! The cake itself is so creamy with strawberry swirl throughout the entire thing and my mouth is just watering thinking about it. I can't wait to go get one for my boyfriends birthday because he raves about it to everyone he knows 24/7

They had many sweet loaves. breads, and pastries to choose from but what caught my eye was a gingerbread man cookie. Not too often during the holiday season am I ever able to find gingerbread men but as the name of the business states how can it be a a gingerbread house without a gingerbread man? The cookies were thickly sealed in plastic wrap not only to prevent spoiling but to stay in line with Co-Vid 19 guidelines. I bought one cookie and my husband settled for a iced pumpkin sugar cookie. We brought them home and had them for dessert. Both of them were very good. We don't often get to West Newton but were glad we had an opportunity to try out this bakery. She LOVES Key Lime pie so each year I try to get her a pie from a new/different local bakery, whether at home or traveling. They still had a decent amount of donuts in stock and the line was growing fast. I thought everything was reasonably priced and the standout donuts were the glazed (which is how I usually judge a donut shop) and the blueberry cake. I was not a fan of the old fashioned donut as oddly enough it left a horrible aftertaste in my mouth. That might just be me so I'll give the credit where it's due. Hopefully I can make it back over here to try some other varieties down the line.
