I rarely find myself out this way in the morning, so I was ecstatic to be able to swing by here on a Saturday around 10AM. They still had a decent amount of donuts in stock and the line was growing fast. I thought everything was reasonably priced and the standout donuts were the glazed (which is how I usually judge a donut shop) and the blueberry cake. I was not a fan of the old fashioned donut as oddly enough it left a horrible aftertaste in my mouth. That might just be me so I'll give the credit where it's due. Hopefully I can make it back over here to try some other varieties down the line. read more

Fresh, delicious and owned by two amazing community focused families!! Donut Chef has been around since the 60s, still holds true to its freshness, quality and values but has added- only for the better! They've got a delicious coffee counter - which I had the Lavender Lemonade with a lemon custard cold foam and WOW! But they also pop up around the city at events and markets on top of their brick and mortar! Everything is fresh and delicious and the staff is so sweet! They do have a small amount of seating inside! Highly recommend making that sweet tooth happy and stopping by! read more

Very friendly staff and very good donuts. Has a little bar area for coffee. Coffee was ok but that was expected because it is a donut place.

Now this is the spot! The most fresh and delicious pastries, donuts, cookies, bread, and more! The people working were very kind and offered suggestions. Small little shop decorated very cute. Extremely reasonably priced for how good they are! Support this small business!!!! read more

A cute little shop with donuts, bagels, cookies, etc. They also have milk, coffee, and some other drinks in the cooler. There is often a line but it goes fast. Some of the favorites like the delicious cinnamon rolls sell out early so call in advance to order some! Check out their social media to see the rotating weekend special flavor too. read more

We drive by Donut Chef fairly often on our way from Indiana to Greensburg. We figured we'd finally stop in and man am I glad we did. The donuts were great. Seriously. The white cream was soft and sweet - but not too sweet. The brownie was awesome. I don't normally like the crusts of a brownie but even this end piece was good. Everything was great. On top of that, the workers and owner were so nice and polite. We're hoping to make this 45 minute drive a once a week trip going forward! read more

In addition to having donuts that are out-of-this-world amazing, and a wide variety of donuts, the pepperoni rolls, only avail. a few days a week, are the best I've *ever* had--and I've had *many*. Also, you can call ahead and have your order put aside for you (ensuring that you won't wait on line only to find out when you finally get to the counter that your favorites are all gone). Make your way out to Donut Chef; you'll be glad you did. read more

Donuts and pizza rolls were great! Felt like the donuts were a little pricey and that's the only reason I gave up four star. The ladies working were really nice and helpful as it was my first visit. Sounds like there can be long lines and luckily it was not like that when we went. read more

Donut Chef-Brick Oven - Chocolate PB Brownie + Old Fashioned + Chocolate Gob + Ultimate Brownie Donut - Donuts Near Me - Delmont, Pennsylvania

Upfront, the Donut Chef still makes a wide variety of amazing donuts, cookies, bread, and rolls. With that said; speaking as a customer that literally frequents the business every week and has done such for a number of years. there is one area that now has a little room for improvement to ensure a local favorite continues to thrive and survive. The Donut Chef seems to have lost a bit of its personality after a change of ownership. I have no idea if it is impacting the bottom line, but what I am seeing every weekend is that the long line that I waited in each Sunday is gone. There were always a few regulars there at the counter having a donut and drinking coffee, and the individuals working the counter knew the customers and interacted in a much more friendly way that gave the Donut Chef feel like small town businesses were like in the 60s and 70s. With a chain donut shop recently opening up less than 2 miles away, I would hate to see a legendary establishment go away like happened with the Wagon Wheel restaurant that was next to the Donut Chef for a number of generations. The donuts are still great. It saves me time to get the donuts I go in for every Sunday and occasionally during the week, but I hope the ownership that took over earlier this year can restore some of the hometown charm. Staff at the counter seems to be constantly changing, the interaction with customers is different and at times feels less home town and more cold. The new ownership should look closer at what made it want to purchase it. I've discovered some former customers are starting to go to the Donut Connection that opened just over a mile away. Again the donuts and other products are still great, but individual small businesses can't afford to operate with the lack of personality found in big chains or they seem to fail. Don't let this legendary business lose it's personality! , read more

All new breakfast sandwiches, pepperoni rolls, the buns and breads are still the same, yummy. You can't go wrong here

Wins my vote just for being open on Sundays until 4pm. I usually go there to pick up their hard rolls and bread, but almost always leave with way more other stuff. Their donuts are freshly made, and never leave a bad after taste like some places. I am a fan of both the raised, and cake donuts. Cookies, fruit tarts, and pound cakes are made with quality ingredients at an affordable price. Love stopping in whenever I can just to see what treats they have for the day and to support small businesses. read more

Donut Chef-Brick Oven - Already ate one of the donuts. Hard to resist! - Donuts Near Me - Delmont, Pennsylvania

Not going to argue, they sell great stuff, that is if you get there very early. Stop there different days but after 11 and noon and sold out of a majority of items. Good for them but what about people stopping after noon? Even on Fat Tuesday I was there at 11am told sold out early cause they were busy. Again great for you, but knowing now how busy you get, why not make more product? It's not like it wouldn't sell the next day? They even post they are closing early due to selling out, again great for them, but what about their employees time? read more

I just have to say, Wow! Donut Chef is amazing! I'm visiting from Baltimore to get an oil undercoating at Steel City Undercoating on Route 22. As I was passing by, I saw Donut Chef and realized I was starving. After dropping off my truck, I decided to take a walk. Two miles later, in 84-degree weather that felt like 100 degrees, I finally arrived at Donut Chef. I walked in and placed my order for a cinnamon roll and an old fashioned donut. The owner, I assume, asked me if I had walked all the way there. She kindly offered me a water and even asked if I needed a ride back to Steel City. Now that's old-fashioned customer service at its best! If I could, I would give this place 6 stars! Make sure to check them out until next time. read more

Very good donuts. I've tried their apple fritters, cinnamon sticks, and glazed- alllll are good. Fluffy with a crisp edge and very sweet and mouth-wateringly good. They bake all day, so no worries about getting there at 1 and there's no donuts left (at least I haven't had any trouble yet). This place does get busy though. I've stood out of the door multiple times, and it's worth it! read more

These traditional donuts are some of the best I've ever had. Homemade and fresh...get there early because they WILL sell out, especially when it comes to their specialty bread loaves. Be sure to get a cup of coffee to-go, too. They could easily double their prices and still do very well. It's definitely worth the trip on a weekend morning! read more

I stopped by here on the way from here to there. First of all, if you blink, you will miss this place. It's a tiny little shop on 22. I love the atmosphere. It looks like it is straight out of the 50s. The shop is very simple and old-time-y with a few glass cases full of baked goods and a couple of "regulars" sitting at the short counter drinking coffee. As far as the food, the donuts were delicious. They are not "creative" and there weren't too many choices, but the dough was wonderfully light. I got raised doughnuts, which I prefer, and they were soft and crisp at the same time, and just sweet enough. We also got bread, which had a wonderful texture but just an average taste. It was whole-wheat bread though - perhaps the white is more flavorful. Overall, I would highly recommend this bakery. It's locally-owned, cute, simple, and good. And it allowed me an evening in which my children were blissed out in a doughnut-induced Nirvana haze, without also them also getting sugared up and mega-hyper. Come here for a classic doughnut experience. read more

Jelly donuts are top tier. Cinnamon rolls are enormous and something like $.75. Take home a lemon pound cake for later.

Love everything I eat there for 30 years I am the trucker that's a happy man when he stops at your place, thank you

We recently moved to the area and are doing the standard "find our new place," for all types of food. Donuts were at the top of my list. Unfortunately I've found a majority of Dunkin' which if your a true donut fan is not ideal. We stumbled on this place not too far from our home and it was just the right fit. The donuts were as fresh as anyone could ask with good selection, with quick and friendly service. Is currently my place for donuts, not so good that I stop looking but when I need a no doubt donut craving and not want to risk the potential disappointment this is the place for me. read more

We stopped here on our way back east for snacks for the road and some of the rolls they are famous for. Unfortunately by the time we got there the rolls were sold out. However we were able to get a few different donuts. The jelly donut was essentially a jam filled doughnut topped with a white icing. Ok. The Boston cream wasn't a bad donut either. It just wasn't really memorable. Everything here was very fresh and clearly homemade but not exciting or exceptionally good. read more

Sunday morning around 10:00 AM... Big difference from my previous "late afternoon" review. Large parking lot filled with, perhaps, 20-25 vehicles. People standing in line, out-the-door waiting to make their donut selections. Showcases are filled to capacity with WARM donuts, cookies, rolls and bread. Fresh is another word to describe the yummy pastries. They look mouth-watering delicious. Line moves fast and I get my donuts from a friendly server. Pricing is very fair... and cash only. Get in my car and inhale three "minutes-out-of-the-fryer" donuts: glazed, sugar and crème-filled. This bakery doesn't make 50 different kinds of donuts. They make about 10 or 12. That's it. No junk. Just the basic varieties, but, wow, are they good. If you are tired of mass-production, chain store donuts, you NEED to make a trip to the Donut Chef at the Brick Oven. Look carefully. It is very small and a little hard to find, but once you get inside, particularly in the morning, oh boy! Best Donuts: in the morning. (anytime after 5 AM, that is) read more

I have heard about this place. I was near so I stopped. It's a very plain place. But the donuts really are great! I love plain cake donuts, they were light and airy. I have never had such a wonderful donut. I saw an empty shelf marked pretzels. I want to try those. I will go back. read more

My experience with Donut Chef is just about right at 3 stars. I was not blown away by any of the donuts. Although I will say I had a cream filled one that was better than the others.
