    Assorted Donuts

Great local bakery! They open early at 7am and popular in the community, so they sell out ealier on weekends. We arrived at 10am and they still had around 7 flavor options left. They all looked great and freshly made, so we ordered half a dozen. The cinnamon swirls stick was my favorite! It was extremely flavorful, natural sweetness tasting, and fluffy. The cake donut with sprinkles was also delicious with great flavor and a smooth vanilla frosting. Even the plain glazed donuts were great! Service was friendly and welcoming, even gave us a bonus glazed donut. The half dozen came to $10, which is an awesome deal too! Overall, a great experience and will be coming back again.

We got half a dozen! A plain glaze, two chocolate creams, a cinnamon stick, powdered jelly and blueberry! No complaints here- they were all delicious!

Open!! Just bought donuts today! Not sure why this business is marked as closed!

Delicious donuts! Fresh and made daily! Better than anywhere I've had in a long time. Definitely better than any chain or grocery store. Get there early before they sell out!

There might be a new king/queen of donuts n the south hills! A coworker brought Madsen donuts to our office and though I was only able to snag one I knew immediately I needed more. We had a tough time deciding, so we got an assortment. There are both cake and risen donuts so there's something for everyone. And you honestly can't go wrong with any of the choices, but our favorites were the cinnamon stick, the jelly-filled stick, the chocolate long John and the powdered sugar. I should also mention that the staff was super friendly and helpful!

We stopped to try Madsen Donuts for the first time today and definitely recommend them! We were able to try 11 out of the 12 donuts that they carry (the cinnamon sugar sticks weren't available yet). We arrived before they opened and were quickly in and out. It was really cool to see how patient and kind the owners were being with their teenage staff. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The donuts themselves were fresh and delicious. A lot of donuts in the area are greasy and leave that film in your mouth after you finish eating them, but Madsen's oil must be very clean and the right temperature because there was no oil flavor or oil residue. They seem to stick with the tried and true donuts and don't have the same variety you might find at other places, but what they do have are definitely keepers. I thought I'd miss all of the unique flavors, but it was actually kind of nice not to be overwhelmed with options. I've never liked jelly donuts, but I think their jelly donut might be my favorite out of them all! The most impressive are the glazed. Normally a glazed is the last people go for because they just seem boring in comparison, but these were literally perfection. We both agreed we'd go back and just be happy with the glazed. Their vanilla icing is a marshmallow based which is really fun. The chocolate icing is the perfect sweetness and dries to a hard shell. They don't skimp on any of the toppings either which is usually my biggest complaint. The cake is a great texture and the raised are airy and light. Looking forward to going back again!

My husband was craving doughnuts so we stopped here because I have heard great things! When we went in around noon, we were the only customers in there. As we arrived, we were quickly greeted. He asked if this was our first time here and we answered that it was. He then gave us a quick tour and description of all of their doughnuts. We really appreciated that and it helped make our decisions of what to order. We ended up getting a half dozen of doughnuts and Turner's Tea. He also gave us their business card. He said we could look at their full menu online and call an order ahead to ensure we get what we want before anything would run out. We each tried a doughnut and whew... they were so fresh and delicious. We will definitely be back and we will definitely refer people to Madsen's to cure their doughnut craving!

On a scale of documentaries to romance novels, Madsen Donuts is a sweet, homey family tale. A lovely spread of donuts greets you as soon as you swing open the door, and there are many options to choose from. However, my favorite was not there so that's a bummer. I opted to try the cinnamon stick, a cake donut, and a marshmallow-iced cake donut. They were good, but I prefer larger and filled donuts so I likely won't be back. I recognize this is a personal preference. If you love cake donuts, then Madsen Donuts does them beautifully!

Amazing doughnuts! 12 varieties of delicious cake doughnuts! I suggest their famous cinnamon sticks! They serve Turner's Tea & Nicholas's Coffee two Pittsburgh staples!

    Birthday donuts!!

Recently ordered some birthday treats for our donut- obsessed 10-year old and we could not have been happier. Not only did the donuts taste better than any other I've had in the region, but the customer service was probably the best I've experienced anywhere in many many years. Amy went above and beyond to explain the options to me and make suggestions that she thought my daughter would love. They even decorated the donut boxes and gave her stickers and coloring pages, all on top of a large order that they had to run earlier that morning. Cannot recommend this place enough!

I really enjoyed Madsens donuts when I tried them at their original location at Geneva on the Lake. When I saw that another donut shop was opening in Pittsburgh I couldn't wait to try it again. I was not let down. Everything we tried was good and fresh. One note though, go early to have a larger selection to choose from. If you like donuts it is worth a try.

This is the cutest newer (not much over a year old I believe) small business bakery in Brentwood…read more It is right next door to S&S cigarette/candy shop on 51 and near 51 wings if you're familiar with the area. It appears to be family owned and the woman who owns it has her brother (who I met) and other family helping her. I found out about her bakery on Facebook from promotional posts in our community groups and she seemed very excited about her opportunity, eager to try unique cupcakes and other recipes you don't find at your typical bakery. I believe I also read it was her dream to own a bakery so that was a nice tidbit to hear come to life in our community. I'm not a sweet eater but my son is so I wanted to support. She had puddings for sale (purchased 'dirt' which is a chocolate pudding with cookies and gummy worms, I tasted it for my review and it was very thick and rich - children's favorite her brother shared, $6.50 for a good sized container pictured). I can't recall all of the pudding types prepared but see photo. My son loved it! Distinct richer flavor than typical dirt pudding, I think and perhaps that is worth the steeper price (in addition to supporting small business). I purchased a s'mores cupcake ($2.50-$3 cupcakes run - much detail and extra products to make these) which has the graham cracker stick in the middle, marshmellow tasting cream and chocolate cupcake - my son also enjoyed, what kid wouldn't. I really like how they package the single cupcakes if you see in the photo it is propped up around it to not fall or mess with its presentation while you carry it. She also had nilla wafer cupcakes, strawberry pretzel salad cupcakes, oreo cupcakes, strawberry shortcake ones and more. Their cookies were sold out and I did confirm she primarily specializes in cupcakes. Nice to note that easy free parking upfront, can order on delivery through door dash, accepts cards or cash, can take preorders for holidays such as pies and puddings which I believe she posts on her social media. Delicious and quality products. Really cute cupcake designs on interior which adds nice touch!

Possibly best decision we made all year. We literally came back and spun the block for round 2 sunday morning to show our dad, the kind staff can attest to this! The first day we went with the brisket sandwich on a plain biscuit, and sausage on an everything. Both were 10/10, and both of us thought we had the better sandwich and made it a competition to prove each other wrong somehow. We both had a bite of each and thought these could quite easily be the best breakfast sandwich we've ever had. They are genuinely that good. Now, onto the even crazier parts (the cinnamon roll). We got a box of pastries of course. The fluffernutter roll, cinnamon roll, chocolate chip cookie, and the zucchini chocolate chip loaf. Best cinni roll we've ever had, hands down Fluffernutter was as good as it sounds, also a 10/10 As a chocolate chip cookie veteran, this one is decent. 6-7/10, I'd stick with getting the rolls personally The little zucchini loaf joint was good too, I've never had anything like that and it was like a good banana bread kinda deal (this probably isn't that helpful but all I know is that it tasted good man) Literally the next morning we ran it back to show Dad. Brother and I had to try the Bacon on plain next, and dad got the sausage. Again, best breakfast sandwich ever. Never had a biscuit this good, it's genuinely ridiculous.
