My husband and I shopped here one time. An employee promptly and kindly packed our baked goods and processed our payment. We ate the baked goods later in the day. My husband said that the cinnamon roll (4.5 stars) was "pretty good," and he claimed it as well as the chocolate donut (4.5 stars) for himself. The peanut-butter blossom cookie (4.5 stars) and the oatmeal-raisin cookie (4.5 stars) were in my husband's words "crunchy" rather than chewy, but I liked both of them. I really liked the Mexican sugar cookie (4.5 stars). The lady lock (4.5 stars) had a nice flaky dough and sweet buttercream filling. The total price was $13 plus a tip. read more

Was looking for a bakery in the area and this was not it! The donuts looked sloppy and haphazardly made! Ordered a plain glazed & chocolate glazed. They both were not fresh that is for sure!! After having to fight my way in & out of the parking lot, can't say I would ever come back!! read more

Stopped in here while on a pitstop in Washington and was happy to find it! Parking is found up front, but can be a little tricky to get in and out of. Inside you'll find some of the nicest people. The staff was friendly, helpful, suggestive and proud of their offerings. The amount of choices was staggering. I didn't know where to start so I just kept it simple to share with my fellow travelers. Several donuts for the kids/adults, a pepperoni pinwheel, a fried doughy cake/donut treat that I cannot remember the name of, buckeyes and some rolled pizzelles with cream inside. Their case had an amazing display of seasonal items, cakes, baked goods ... etc etc Everyone enjoyed their treats. The kids scarfed down their donuts, we all enjoyed the buckeyes and the pinwheel was a bit greasy, but delicious. The doughy treats were ok, but not my style. Too doughy. The rolled pizzelles were decent, but the cream inside was way too sweet for me. It's a shame this place is so far away because their baked goods and dinners on their facebook page look delicious! Saturday-only buffet is terrific. All-you-can-eat and you'll wish you could eat more. Breakfast of eggs, biscuits-and-gravy, sausages, bacon, buttery potatoes, quiche and more + rotating lunch dishes (the spicy birria was sooo good) salads, fruit and made in house pastry so good we bought some to take home. We found out on Saturday morning there's a breakfast buffet. Been going here for years for cakes and pastries but never for a buffet. Everything was really good. From eggs, sausage and fresh fruit. We picked up a delicious ho ho cake from here for a family event. They already had them made, which was nice that you didn't have to preorder. This cake was just as good as it looks. I love their coconut macaroons or they might call them a haystack. ‍ The coconut treat has great tasting toasted coconut with small bits of chocolate. Go great with a strong cup of coffee. Super super nice bakery with employees willing to go out of their way to help. I had a wonderful woman throw away the coffee and make a fresh pot just for me because she was concerned with the freshness. Their s'mores cookies were tremendous!!!! Cheap and affordable, a dozen cookies was only 6.50!!!! Make sure you go out of your way to find this place for an incredible selection of donuts and pastries. Growing up in Washington my father would surprise us once in a while with your glazed donuts. I can still remember how soft and sweet they were, the icing seemed to crack in your mouth while the donut part would melt in your mouth.So today we stopped for buns for Christmas night and just had to have a glazed donut I couldn't wait to get in the car, opened the bag and took the long awaited bite because it had been years. I'm sorry that I cannot recall what prices I paid. I simply recall being pleasantly surprised, at the cash register, at how low my total was. General consensus, at our morning safety meetings, is that we all have had better donuts and cookies but the quality was indeed good or very good. I was asked, a few times, how much did I pay. The donuts are INCREDIBLE!!! However, the customer service is awful. I came in to get a dozen donuts and the woman behind the counter was rude and short with me and even rolled her eyes when I picked out a jelly filled donut. Had less than 36 hours to get a cake finished I forgot to order in advance, called Krencys with little hope that they did structured cakes as no one else in Washington does. They said they do, I asked if they could make a turtle cake and they said not a problem, told them my dilemma with the time frame, not a problem. Not only was the cake much much cheaper than it should have been but it turned out amazing. My sister was ecstatic when she saw it, she didn't want to cut it but last night she ate a leg, she said the cake wasn't overly sweet like a giant eagle or shop n save cake but tasted rather home made and that's fine:. I ordered 2 cakes one for mine and one for my daughter's birthday, specifically asked that there be no red icing on the cake. When I picked up the cakes there was red icing on one.I made it known that my order was wrong. I was told that it was noted on the order "no red icing" but since it didn't specifically say there was a red dye allergy that they felt it was ok to use it. I was told they'd have to take all the icing off and re frost the cake. The lady in the back got an attitude and started complaining loud enough for me to hear her. I stopped here for donuts the first two visits. The cakes looked great and all prices are very reasonable! The donuts did not disappoint at all! Fresh, inexpensive compared to other donut shops, gas stations etc. I did get a small round cake for around $18. Dry. Tons of icing that was so thick, it fell off 1 side. The icing was good icing, but to celebrate, we each had 1 piece and the rest went into the garbage. I hated this as I was hoping for a good old fashioned moist cake -- just not the case. Good honest breakfast diner. Red skin potatoes are hit and miss, sometimes a little underdone..... But great stuffed omlettes. Get there at least a half hour after 6AM open time because they wait to turn in the grill and things are slow to get started... But overall not a bad choice in Washington, PA. read more

We had Krency's do the catering for our daughters wedding September 17th. Doug is a dream to work with. The food was absolutely fabulous!! I cannot believe how many people have told me it was one of the best food, at a wedding, they have ever had. Many guests went back for seconds!! The whole staff was extremely attentive and always smiling. Doug was everywhere during the reception making sure that everything was perfect. Memories of Krency's Bakery are fond; nearly ever birthday included a cake from Krency's - my Dad would regularly deliver Gateways, M&M Butter Cream Cookies and Tootsie Rolls on a Saturday morning after errands. When I visit Washington, about once a year now, a visit is included in my WashPa Food Trifecta. Krency's, Hill House and Shorty's Hot Dogs, round out the list. My expectations are not high, I am more happy to enjoy a wonderfully warm memory. Regretfully, my last visit on Saturday, the 13th of May, might have been my last. I felt like I was living a bad episode of Seinfeld. While quality exceeds; with nostalgic touches complete, enduring painfully bad customer service and surly treatment was difficult. If my employees treated customers, as I was handled; I would soon have no business. Truly, I was forced to evaluate the value of $25 spent and walking out; it was too early for Hill House. Perhaps the counter attendant and, possibly, the manager need an attitude adjustment, a vacation or an invitation to leave - they ad no value to the business, I was made to feel like an interruption and a poor relative. With Raisin Cookies in hand, I wish Krency's to succeed for, at least, another hundred years - sans the attitude. Best Luck read more

Made a special trip for cookies for a Christmas tray. I ended up leaving without any purchase. I was met coming in the door with just an aloof stare, no smile, no hello, no welcome. When I asked a question in regards to a specific nut cookie was given no help and no suggestions to a cookie they didn't make there. I don't know how they can continue to stay in business with the poor customer service and rude employees. read more

I just picked up my daughter's birthday cake at Krency's this past weekend. I usually get my cakes from Prantles, Dozen, Vanilla Pastery Studio, Bethel Bakery, or Oakmont Bakery, but we didn't want to travel so far for a cake this time. Well, We were very impressed! The employees made you feel like family. They invited my 3 year old son back to show him the workspace and they offered my daughter a free pastry treat. The cake was delicious! The cake is moist and dense. The icing is a sugary texture, but light, not synthetic tasting like Crisco. purchased a cake for co worker's birthday and when I got to my office which was about a mile from bakery cake was right up against side of box and all the icing was off one side. Called and was told the cake had to slide but I believe it just was not centered in box. I know their baked goods are delicious but was a little disappointed in response I got from them. Cake was not inexpensive and if was just for my family, I wouldn't have minded but the fact it was for co worker, I was disappointed. read more
