Love this place! It is such a cool spot with the best sourdough I've ever had. They also carry a ton of delicious pastries and I still dream about the sticky buns here. Everything is homemade and they serve Redstart coffee here which I love. I love that they sell baking tools and starters and sourdough pizza dough. They do classes here on weeknights and they range from pasta to sourdough to pierogi to apps and cocktails. The classes are so fun and everyone is so friendly. I love the folks who run this place too! Genuinely kind and community centered people. The space is so beautiful and morphs so nicely during cooking classes. Definitely recommend checking them out!

We stopped by on a Saturday around 1pm and there were plenty of baked goods left. The inside has one longer tablet and a couple of smaller tables for two so not a ton of room for a larger group. I was able to order a cookie abs bialy right away and they were able to heat up my bialy for me. I then went back for a quiche slice and a cardamom bun. Everything was pretty good! They do have pretty limited hours and they're only open four days a week.

After driving past this place a few times, we opted to stop in for breakfast! Didn't realize they had coffee so we'd stopped for coffee elsewhere. So many delicious options to choose from! I opted for the sourdough cinnamon roll and it was absolutely delicious, easily in my top 5 list. Friendly and welcoming servers were eager to help us and patiently waiting for us to make a decision and place an order. Cute spot with indoor and outdoor seating, will be back!

The pecan sticky bun is literally goated. So so so good. We got the birthday cake on preorder (chocolate hazelnut) and did not like it at all. Super super dry :/ icing was good. I wonder if something happened to it?? Kinda unfortunate because it was a birthday cake and we thought with the price and how good their pastries were that it would be great. Definitely disappointed

This is a nice little space that has really good sourdough breads. The service was quick and friendly. The khachapuri (egg and cheese bread) was really good and cheesy! I would recommend it but ask them to warm it up.

This little gem has such an interesting variety of cookies and pastries! I stopped in on a Saturday morning to pick up a loaf of the house sourdough and left with the loaf and a sticky bun. I wanted every single flavor of cookie they had on display, plus about 7 other things! They don't have a bread slicer, which is a little disappointing for me, as someone who can't cut bread very well haha. The sourdough is amazing and the sticky bun was perfectly soft, sweet, and had tons of nuts. The staff were super friendly and attentive. There were a few seating options available inside and some tables with umbrellas outside. I also noticed some drop coffee and espresso options, as well. Bathroom was clean and stocked with paper towels and soap.

We came for breakfast on the weekend, and were greeted by their friendly staff when we walked in. There were a few big tables and a couple high tables inside. There were also lots of outdoor seating on the patio. They have a good assortment of baked goods, and a few drink options. I tried their lemon oat scone and a decaf drip coffee. The scone was very lemony and refreshing. My drip coffee they actually made fresh. There were creamer and oat milk options by the sugar and stirrers. Overall, I was very pleased with our experience here and everything looked very promising. I would come back and try something else!

I heard this was one of the famous bakeries I must check out in Pittsburgh. I got their pistachio…read moreeclair, ham and cheese croissant, and almond croissant -- all tasted wonderful and light. The croissants were great when you lightly air fry/toast them if you don't eat them right away. In Lawrenceville, it's a small location with a couple of outdoor seating but none inside. However, it is a chain so you might have one in your little area. My only thing is that the pistachio eclair is very sweet (so if you don't have a sweet tooth, maybe I'd go for another subtler dessert). I saw they have a deal where you can get a baguette, sandwich, and drink for $7. Good deal imo considering the quality of their bread, and it's a good excuse to buy a sweet treat with it!

La Gourmandine is always a solid choice, and our Thanksgiving order proved it again. We picked up a…read morepumpkin tarte and an apple tarte--each meant to serve about six--and both were delicious. The flavors were balanced, the pastry was buttery and delicate, and they looked as good as they tasted. The total came to $50.65, which feels pretty standard for a French bakery once you understand the baseline is a bit higher than your typical American dessert spot. For the quality, it's well worth it. Consistently great, reliably tasty, and perfect for special occasions or whenever you want to treat yourself. The staff is friendly. It's usually busy here and not conducive to eating inside.

Came here on a cold Saturday morning because several have recommended this bakery on Walnut Street…read more Since it's just a small walk-in, we purchased a few goodies and took them to a cafe to enjoy them with some coffee. They have two cases of their delicious looking pastries, one table of discounted items, and a case serving hot items. Open that case and serve yourself the hot mini quiches and empanadas. Started with a mini quiche and a beef empanada. Hubby liked his quiche. I'm not a fan of olives and they were all over my beef empanada. Will not be getting that one again. The kind young lady behind the case helped us order our very first Burnt Almond Torte. It comes in different sizes and we chose the bar as it easily serves two. She even gave us sporks to eat it with. We really loved the Burnt Almond Torte. The inside has a soft, moist vanilla cake layered with a thin layer of icing and enrobed with more icing and topped with the buttery, crunchy almonds. We will be back for more.

I started with the quiche and enjoyed it; the crust was just average but the egg filing was very good. My wife was not a fan of the empanada so we will not get that again. It was around 10 hours before we tried our Burnt Almond Torte...wow! That dessert is something that I will eat again, and again. The toasted almonds were soooo good! They were crunchy, crispy, and perfect. The Bar Cake had a white cake inside and icing on the outside; it was heavily coated in those almonds. The person who assisted was knowledgeable about the items to a point; she did not eat anything in the bakery so it was by observation. Don't care, that Burnt Almond Torte is the real deal!
