    Chocolate cheesecake
    Kathryn F.

I immediately recognized the name because of an article that I read recently in a Pittsburgh periodical. Kyle came to my employer's cafeteria to sell his wares during lunch. He had raspberry, oreo, traditional, Buckeye, and chocolate cheesecakes and slices. Lunch started at 11a. He had 2 huge coolers filled with cheesecake. When I arrived at noon, he had already sold out of Buckeye cheesecake. I bought 2 slices of chocolate cheesecake. Even with an impressive appetite, l could only finish 1/2 a slice. It is really rich and delicious. Kyle mentioned he was invited back and will bring more Buckeye next time. Looking forward to supporting this small business in the future.

The Classic Plain Cheesecake was absolutely delicious! Easy online ordering and pick up. We added our strawberries and glaze.

Best dessert at the squirrel hill farmers market! They offer free samples of different kinds of cheesecake to help you choose a flavor. Our favorite is the cookies and cream. At the farmers markets they sell mini cheesecakes which are perfect for a small birthday or celebration! You can also preorder a larger size cheesecake to pick up at the market. I believe if you order from their website they offer delivery as well! If you don't want an entire cheesecake, they usually sell one or two flavors in slices instead of a whole mini cheesecake. They also accept Venmo if you do not have cash Staff there are always friendly and they help me decide which cheese cake to get! Also helpful with questions, I was concerned how long the cheesecake lasts and they said the cheesecakes can also be frozen to last longer!

Oh.My.Gosh. Having breakfast Saturday morning at Pamela's and assigned dessert for Sunday with friends who bake, I searched for bakeries in Millvale. Up pops Kyle's and I'm thinking, "Do I dare take cheesecake to friends who make cheesecake?" Yes. Yes, I do. So I had a short jaunt up the road in charmingly welcoming Millvale to Kyle's Cakes N'at's storefront, where I met Kyle himself manning the counter. I needed chocolate for the friend who doesn't consider it dessert unless it has chocolate, and citrus for myself. I got a mini Triple Chocolate and a Key Lime, and I couldn't be happier. The chocolate was smooth and creamy and the lime was luscious and just the right tartness. The three of us split the two mini cakes in quarters (so they get to enjoy leftovers). I wish I took a pic of them out of the box. I wish I had another one just for myself. I'll be back!

This shop is part of a larger chain but currently appears to be the only location in the Pittsburgh area. It's located in East Liberty and is really more of a bakery than a coffee shop. The inside is split about 50/50, with half dedicated to seating and the other half serving as a self-serve bakery. You grab a tray and tongs before walking around selecting whichever baked goods catch your eye. They also have display cases filled with cakes and other pastries that need to be kept refrigerated. For my coffee on this morning I went with a 16 oz hot honey lavender macchiato while my wife chose a 16 oz iced tiramisu latte. I have to admit that the name of my drink confused me a bit at first, but it ended up being a latte macchiato as expected. With that being said, I thought it was quite good. The lavender was light enough to be noticeable without overpowering the drink, while the honey added just the right amount of sweetness. The espresso was also present, especially on the finish, where it added both flavor and body. My wife also enjoyed her latte and appreciated the tiramisu flavors throughout. Outside of the coffee, we ordered a number of pastries. My wife chose the Crookie, which is a cookie baked on top of a croissant. My son picked out a chocolate-covered Belgian waffle, while my daughter chose the strawberry soft bread. All of them enjoyed what they ordered, and I think my wife especially loved the Crookie. As for me, I went a little overboard and chose a garlic and cheese croissant, a curry croquette, pork-dusted bread, and a sweet taro cream bread. All of them were delicious in their own way. The garlic and cheese croissant was a nice savory option, with plenty of garlic flavor and a crispy cheese crust. The curry croquette had wonderful warming spices that made it especially flavorful. The pork-dusted bread was definitely the most unusual item. The pork topping reminded me of Wild Bill's Beef Jerky, and somehow those savory flavors worked really well on top of the crunchy laminated bread. Last but certainly not least was the taro cream bread. I was impressed by how light it felt despite being packed with an impressive amount of cream filling. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I'm a sucker for bakeries like this and clearly ordered far more than my waistline needed, but everything I tried was enjoyable. While the coffee was good, the pastries are the real reason to visit, with the coffee serving as an excellent complement.

I did not need a large, custom order, so I stopped by the business to browse their offerings. I saw two display cases of cakes, bars, brownies, fudges, scones, and cookies, and I saw one refrigerator of cinnamon rolls, banana breads, muffins, etcetera. An employee immediately greeted me, and as I selected my desserts, she carefully placed them in a box for me. She made friendly conversation, accurately rang up my purchase, and kindly thanked me. Here are my reviews for my desserts: Raspberry vanilla cake - $4.25 - 4.5 stars - I bought one slice of white cake that had vanilla frosting and some raspberry filling. The cake was fresh and had tart flavors, and the icing tasted sweet. Cherry pie bar - $3 - 4 stars - This bar contained a top layer of cherries. The flavor of cherries was subtler than I had expected. Apple pie bar - $3 - 3.5 stars - This bar contained a very thin layer of apple. I would recommend adding more apples for more flavor. Lemon pie bar - $3 - 5 stars - This bar had a strong taste of lemon and a nicely crispy crust. Cherry-chocolate scone - $3.25 - 3.5 stars - This scone was a large size. It contained a thin layer of cherries and chocolate chips. 6 various cookies - $5 - I rate the peanut-butter cookie as 4 stars, the sugar-sprinkle cookie as 3.5 stars, the snickerdoodle cookie as 3.5 stars, the chocolate-chip cookie as 3.5 stars, the oatmeal-raisin cookie as 4.5 stars, and the chocolate-cherry cookie as 3.5 stars.
