First, I want to thank my fellow Yelpers for recommending A Sweet Morsel. Without your reviews, I would not have discovered this business. A Sweet Morsel has been in business for several years. They sell products such as cakes, cookies, cookie cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, macarons, and chocolate-covered strawberries. Prices are reasonable, for example, $18 for a cake. My husband bought a cookie tray. It contained a variety of cookies, including snickerdoodles, pecan dips, lemon shortbread, apricot kolaches, chocolate-coconut bites, peanut butter blossoms, lady locks, and sprinkle sugar cookies. In general, lady locks are my husband's all-time favorite type of cookie. A Sweet Morsel's lady locks tasted good but were a little dry, so I rate them as 4 stars. My all-time favorite cookie is the apricot kolachi, and I rate A Sweet Morsel's apricot kolaches as 5 stars. I also really liked their snickerdoodles. The other cookies were OK. read more

We ordered our cake a little over a week ahead of time and they were able to deliver and provide us with exactly with what we wanted. All of our guests were raving about how great the cake tasted. It was beautifully decorated too and they even were able to add floral decorations to it. I highly recommend this bakery. I called all around Pittsburgh to find a dairy free carrot cake for my moms birthday. While they didn't usually do a dairy free carrot cake because they don't yet have a good dairy free cream cheese icing they worked with me and used their normal dairy free white icing and let me tell you it was absolutely delicious! The cake itself was also moist. There was a great balance of flavors for the carrot cake. While their carrot cake is great, I have to say their double chocolate mint cake is on another level. I am not usually a fan of double chocolate cakes but this cake is a huge exception. We got this cake because it sounded so good and it delivered. The mint icing was fantastic. I should point out I'm also not huge on frosting but I do love mint and I couldn't stop myself from eating the frosting. The chocolate cake was moist and very flavorful. I should finish up by saying the presentation on both cakes was high quality and the bakery even offered to add a happy birthday message for my mom. I wish I had taken pictures to share but we didn't give ourselves the opportunity before we attacked and devoured both cakes! I can't wait for an excuse to buy another cake from them! read more

After driving by this place many times, I decided to finally try this bakery. I ordered one dozen cupcakes the day before I needed them, and I was impressed that they were able to accommodate me on such short notice. The staff was very friendly on the phone and in person. I got chocolate and vanilla batter cupcakes with vanilla icing, and both were delicious, just the right size and not too much icing. The cake was fluffy and the icing was light and damn good. I prefer them over Oakmont's cupcakes and would definitely order again. I'm looking forward to trying their other baked goods in the future, too. read more

I've never written a review for something before but feel very strongly that my experience with this company could have gone much differently so I'd like to share. I recently reached out and asked a sweet morsel to do cookies for me for my moms 60th birthday. I attached the picture below and noted it was a wine theme. They reached out to me and stated they couldn't do the metallic rose gold. I told them that was fine, to replace it with blush pink and specified that I didn't want baby pink, but blush. They confirmed that was fine. Below is the side by side of the picture I sent them, versus what I received. When I said I was unhappy with the colors they told me the orange color is a "non-metallic rose gold" and that my note of "blush" never made it into their system. (Even though They confirmed the color 4 days prior to pickup). Unfortunately these cookies completely clashed with my color scheme and I was very unhappy with them. They told me it was a miscommunication but would not fix it or even offer me a partial refund on the order because my sister picked them up, not knowing they weren't correct. I contacted them within 10 minutes of pick up but did not hear back from them until a day or two later. Personally, I think when you're paying $66 PER DOZEN for cookies, they should be sure the cookies are exactly what the customer wants. I totally understand it takes a lot of time and effort to make these types of cookies and I appreciate that and am willing to spend the money--- but not when you receive something that is so far off from what is requested. They did offer me a discount on a future order but unfortunately I wouldn't trust them again to do anything for me and I wouldn't recommend using them to anyone. read more

We have been enjoying them for the past few days and have absolutely no complaints about the service or the quality of this shop's products. Spouse went to pick up bakery items for a gift and was told items were safe for people with Coeliac disease (can't have wheat or gluten). Item container, specifically the peanut butter bars, were labeled made without gluten but also had a label stating May contain wheat, with no ingredient list to be found. In addition the other items, coconut balls and chocolate chip cookies had no ingredient list either. The lady I spoke to may have been correct in saying it wasn't required in PA; however, when a call was placed to hopefully HELP the business understand how misleading this was and perhaps prevent someone from getting sick from eating their "made without gluten" products, the information wasn't welcomed and was met with rudeness. Not a great way to showcase products for people who have allergies. read more

Stopped in here on a whim on the way home from picking up my daughter from preschool. The whole place smells amazing when you walk in. We received the absolute best customer service I could have hoped for. My 4-year-old was so excited to choose her own cupcake flavors, and the lovely woman also made purple frosting and added sprinkles. She treated my little one with such respect. My daughter truly felt heard and special. Added to that, the cupcakes are absolutely delicious. A perfect soft cake with just the right amount of frosting. We will definitely be back! read more
