Furthermore, I did not know what some of the baked goods were because most were not labeled. I recommend that the employees add little signs with the names of the baked goods. I was a first-time customer, so I ordered a sample of the baked goods: a vanilla wafer, fruity danish, carrot cake, pecan roll, snickerdoodle cookie, and raisin bread. The total price was reasonable. Unfortunately, my order for this Christmas is probably my last ending over 65 years of my family buying cakes from this bakery. When Lincoln Bakery was sold to Prantl's they vowed to keep the same recipes and standards held by Lincoln Bakery. I can tell you the custom cake I ordered tasted nothing like a Lincoln Bakery cake. It was no better than a cake from the grocery store. I ordered buttercream icing expecting the light, creamy icing of a Lincoln Bakery cake. This is what made their cakes special. The icing on this cake was extremely stiff and has the nasty taste of grocery store icing. In fact I threw my pieces away. I tried a second piece later to give it a second chance. They often do not answer their phone; every time we call it rings and rings then prompts you to enter a code. We verified the number we call while in-store. They charge you a handling-fee; employees should inform you, at time of purchase, what this is. The best thing about Lincoln Bakery cake was the icing- a delicious buttercream that simply "made" the cakes. I purchased cakes here for 30 years for every special event in my family. I bought a cake today for my daughter's birthday (first cake since the owner sold out to Prantls) and the icing was NOTHING like Lincoln Bakery icing. It was sickly sweet powdered sugar and pure white - the original icing was always a warmer tone probably because it has butter in it. It was inedible. We were at PVSEC for a vet appointment and I googled bakeries nearby. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Lincoln Bakery was only a few minutes away. It had been on my list of bakeries to checkout, but isn't a place we are usually near so I jumped at the opportunity. The bakery is invited and well stocked with so many various baked goods. Normally when a bakery has that many different things, none are truly outstanding... but Lincoln somehow figured out how to master everything from cheesecake to bakeries. I got a great selection of items to try. The most noteworthy are the donuts. I am a true donut snob, I will travel for baked goods and for donuts. I can honestly say that I've never had better donuts. They were light and so fresh. They weren't greasy and they didn't taste like oil. They were the perfect level of sweetness. The ratios of icing/toppings were perfection. Another surprise winner is the cheesecake. We got the Oreo and the white chocolate raspberry and were blown away. They tasted like true old fashioned cheesecakes. We got an assorted of danishes (the one with icing and walnuts reminds us of New Year's Eve pretzels) and cookies. All were delicious. We have been coming to Lincoln Bakery for 20+ years. Our wedding cake was made by Lincoln Bakery after we first tried it at Monte Cello's in Ross Township. It was an almond cake with butter cream frosting and fresh strawberries between the layers. We have purchased the same cake for our anniversary for 20 years. This year when we ordered the cake, we were told that we could not get the fresh strawberries as we did in the past. We purchased the cake anyway, and were very disappointed. Even though the sign out front says Lincoln Bakery, the cake box said Prantl's Bakery. The cake and frosting were no where close to the excellent Lincoln Bakery cakes that we had in the past. Nice little old fashioned bakery in Bellevue. I stopped in for the first time the week before Christmas & purchased a cookie tray. It had a good variety of cookies, but was pricey at $42, though worth it in the end as traveling to family in Chicago they ended up consuming most of them. They have various size holiday cookie platters made up ranging from a dozen to 4 dozen or more. They make every kind of pie, cake, cupcake etc. I bought 2 snowman & 2 Grinch little mini type cakes (cupcake size) for $3 each, they turned out to be very dry & were tossed, though they were super cute as decorations. Very disappointed! I ordered a birthday cake for my mom to be picked up 11/1/25. I arrived in the afternoon that day to hear that my order was not completed. The woman who waited on me was very apologetic and indicated that I could have a cake from the case and they would call the one person who could write on the cake to come back to the store. The cake did not match what we ordered but she indicated that I would receive a full refund considering it was not the icing or decoration we had ordered, plus the inconvenience of it all. She said to give the full refund until Tuesday at 1pm to process. Well, I called in to what seems to be a centralized ordering system for Prantl's on Saturday, 11/8/25 since I didn't receive the refund and spoke to a woman who clearly needs a lot of customer service training. She was rude, talking over me and insisted that she could not give a full refund without the owners permission. I shared who I spoke with at the bakery (Summer/Courtney/Amber). After going back and forth, the woman at the centralized ordering system indicated that she would get fired for giving me a full refund. After I continued to ask for the refund that was promised, she said - "There, I issued it." and hung up on me! Who knows if I will get the refund or not. Prantl's do better...I never had this experience before with Lincoln Bakery. read more

We visited Prantls' (in Bellview - the former Lincoln Bakery) on October 29, after not being there for a while, and were so disappointed. We'd been Lincoln Bakery customers for years and were hopeful when it seemed that Prandtl's wanted to keep the spirit of Lincoln alive. The first thing one noticed - there were none of the signature Lincoln Halloween cakes in the windows that seemed to mark the season in such a warm way. Okay, we still wanted the place to be good. But, once inside, it just felt so different. The place seemed empty with people behind the counter overly eager to please the few customers. We purchased quite a few items - the almond torte, thumbprint cookies, cannoli, doughnuts and a cake. The usual Lincoln items were not there - iced pound cake and Ho-Ho cake. But, again, we wanted to have an open mind. The person who helped us told us that the shelf from which we purchased the cake was a "Lincoln shelf." So, we happily purchased the cake and could not wait to consume that wonderful, Lincoln icing. Instead, what we received was an overly layered cake with the kind of sickly-sweet icing that one might find at Giant Eagle. We were further mislead when it came to two almond doughnuts we purchased - which we were told were croissants. They were ordinary - and not very good doughnuts. Yes, the almond tortes are good. But the thumbprint cookies are stacked with that overly sweet icing. They have this odd station where they fill cannoli on demand, so we tried the "traditional" and "buttercream" filling. These were also disappointing - once again, overly sweet and the shell is not an improvement over Lincoln's. Is it worth going there just for the almond torte? Unfortunately, no. I wish the owners would do better and bring back what was special about Lincoln Bakery - especially the icing - but some of the more popular items as well. The crowd they seem to be targeting can go to Prantl's original location (or Giant Eagle) if they like that sort of thing. read more

A dozen doughnuts is 17 dollars. That is 1.40 a doughnut. No discount for a dozen. I am fine with paying for quality. That is a bit steep for a dozen and the quality has taken a dip since the Pandemic. I get it, small businesses need to recover. The brownies are cut smaller and they cost more. This was my constant go to bakery for years when I lived in Bellevue and I still stop. My picking of my doughnuts this morning was interrupting the complaining of the 2 unfriendly women behind the counter. One of whom had messed up my order on 2 separate occasions. Clearly, I still return for good pastries. I have a replacement cake on file for a cake I ordered that was screwed up a year ago or so. I will redeem and will not be back. Their donuts used to be the BEST! I never had a better cinnamon sugar cake donut: crispy on the outside, light and delicious in the inside, plenty of cinnamon and sugar. The last two times I've gotten them, they have been terrible. As in, I wouldn't even eat it. Rubbery, barely any cinnamon sugar, and somehow leaving a greasy coating on the roof of my mouth. GARBAGE - and that is where that cake ended-up. Lincoln Bakery used to produce really great cakes and was our family's go to for birthdays, anniversaries, first communion, baptisms, and various other celebrations - Well not anymore!!! This was simply the most awful cake that we have ever had the misfortune to purchase. It was inedible, and to be honest, it was disgusting. My husband picked-up the cake and it was already in a box, tied-up, without any opportunity to see it before paying for it. After being carefully transported home, we opened the box and a section of roses had slid off of the top of the cake. I wasn't happy, but since the cake was already boxed and tied-up, who could say when the icing was disturbed. The cake itself was not fresh, and the chocolate bottom layer was actually stale and markedly thinner than the top vanilla layer. The worst part, and what made the cake inedible, was the icing!!! It had a strange consistency, almost like shaving cream, and an overpowering artificial flavor that left an unpleasant, oil-like coating on the inside of your mouth with a bitter artificial aftertaste I don't have the words to describe how disgusting this excuse for a cake actually was. No one managed more than 2 bites, not even the children. We and our guests were all seated around the table, each of us began eating our piece of cake, and after a moment everyone just stopped eating, we all just sort of looked at each other, some with apparent distaste on their faces. Then one of the children asked their mother if they could "spit it out" and have a drink because the cake tasted bad! I truly cannot convey how terrible this cake was!!!! This cake ruined our birthday party and left us embarrassed and apologizing to our guests for serving something so nasty. Except for the few bites everyone had before they stopped eating, the entire cake ended up in the garbage; frankly that is where it belonged. What a waste of food and money. We made a special trip from Beaver County to buy this cake and to say we could have made a better cake if we had bought a box of cake mix and a tub of pre-made frosting at the grocery store, would not be an exaggeration. If you have an upcoming celebration, do yourself and your guests a favor and order your cake somewhere else! read more

I live on the west side of Pittsburgh and, unfortunately, most of our mom and pop bakeries have closed. Our only option for "real" doughnuts is the local grocery store. Aside from that we are stuck with places that serve mini-doughnuts. You know what I'm talking about. Places that give you a quarter of the dough and a candy bar on top... for a much higher price than any doughnut should cost (you know who you are, stop it!). As such, I have been on a quest for new doughnut places. Even if that means I have to travel a little. Lincoln Bakery is over the river and through a few neighborhoods for me but based on reviews is felt it was worth a shot. The bakery is conveniently located on a small-business filled street with plenty of parking. Upon waking into the bakery I noticed how nice and clean the place was and it smelled... like a bakery. They have cases full of baked goods. To top it all off, the staff members were super friendly. Assuming that you are still with me... let's talk doughnuts. There was plenty of selection, from glazed to jelly filled. Toppings included maple, coconut, sprinkles, chocolate, etc. They had everything you'd expect from a real bakery and they tasted as good as they looked. The one very notable thing about these doughnuts was the fact that they were the PERFECT amount of sweet. They were sweet enough to taste great but they weren't so sweet that you felt sick after eating them. I should also note that, being a full bakery, there was an array of pastries, cakes, etc. I have a relative who orders what we call a ho-ho cake from them several times a year. It is amazing. In the end, this place is totally worth a drive if you are on this side of town and miss the look, feel, and taste of a mom and pop bakery. I will be a return customer. read more

I bought 2 cheese danish a apricot danish and a blueberry danish. The apricot danish was amazing and so was the cheese danish. I did not try the blueberry danish. Omg. My husband and I were at dinner across the street when we spotted Lincoln Bakery. I have a horrible sweet tooth, so we ventured over even though we were quite full from dinner. The inside of the bakery is filled with every type of baked good you can imagine: breads and bagels, cakes and cookies, pastries, and even corn breads! We looked around for a bit before deciding. It took awhile because everything looked so good. I settled on a chocolate croissant, one of my faves. My husband got a cream cheese frosted cinnamon roll. Our total was $5, which is quite reasonable for baked goods, especially with how large they were! My croissant was delicious. Very flaky and fresh. I really liked that there was still almond flavoring inside because it mixed well with the chocolate. My husband's cinnamon roll was out of this world! Hands down the best cinnamon roll we've ever had. It was soft and the frosting complemented the cinnamon roll well. We had a few bites of each and saved the rest of them for the next day. They were still just as amazing. If we ever find ourselves in Bellevue again, we would absolutely return for more!! read more

So here we are 9 months after my last raving review and I have an update. I went to the bakery yesterday and purchased a piece of red velvet torte which I love. When I got home I was two bites in (1 for my son and 1 for me) and I looked down to find a black bug sitting on the icing dead! To be clear I don't have bugs in my home as insinuated by the bakery when I called but I digress. To make sure I wasn't nuts I flipped it over to be sure it was a bug and not some burnt crisp of something... yep there were legs. Had it been a bug from my home I'm sure it would've been alive - we're talking a few hours after I purchased this. I don't know what this is but it was black and maybe had wings(can't tell) I called the bakery today to advise and simply request a refund. The "manager" I spoke with was not apologetic until the very end of the convo after I called out her hesitation and it was a very dry apology. After asking me to describe the bug, which I did she seemed to pause as if I'm making it up or she didn't believe me. She kept saying, "we need to see it" as if this $3 refund would be life altering for me therefore I need to lie about a bug. I was going to bring it in and get my refund but honestly I'd rather people know to be cautious about buying there. They can keep the $3 or whatever the cake cost, lesson learned. Not as good as they used to be. Part of the family is from the area so Lincoln is their go to and almost all birthday and holiday cakes are ordered there. The cake we ordered for Easter was beautiful but dry and we thought the buttercream didn't taste like it did in the past. We figured it was a fluke due to being a busy holiday. My go to spot for years, for the holidays and special occasions. They always have huge lines for thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. You can order ahead to get exactly what you want, but you still have to take a ticket and wait like everyone else. I suggest getting there early in the morning. We usually get their black and white cake. Their chocolate fudge icing and yellow cake is amazing. It goes so fast at our house we usually end up getting two. I also had their fudge icing with chocolate cake and that was equally good! But always get the fudge icing lol Their pastries and donuts are equally great. They have many variations of cinnamon rolls and we could not decide which one we wanted this time, so we got once of each. For two fudge icing cakes, and pastures it was only $24.
