I stopped by here this past Sunday with my family for our morning coffee. Every weekend we try to hit up a new local coffee shop, and on this morning it happened to be Tous Les Jours. This shop is part of a larger chain but currently appears to be the only location in the Pittsburgh area. It's located in East Liberty and is really more of a bakery than a coffee shop. The inside is split about 50/50, with half dedicated to seating and the other half serving as a self-serve bakery. You grab a tray and tongs before walking around selecting whichever baked goods catch your eye. They also have display cases filled with cakes and other pastries that need to be kept refrigerated. For my coffee on this morning I went with a 16 oz hot honey lavender macchiato while my wife chose a 16 oz iced tiramisu latte. I have to admit that the name of my drink confused me a bit at first, but it ended up being a latte macchiato as expected. With that being said, I thought it was quite good. The lavender was light enough to be noticeable without overpowering the drink, while the honey added just the right amount of sweetness. The espresso was also present, especially on the finish, where it added both flavor and body. My wife also enjoyed her latte and appreciated the tiramisu flavors throughout. Outside of the coffee, we ordered a number of pastries. My wife chose the Crookie, which is a cookie baked on top of a croissant. My son picked out a chocolate-covered Belgian waffle, while my daughter chose the strawberry soft bread. All of them enjoyed what they ordered, and I think my wife especially loved the Crookie. As for me, I went a little overboard and chose a garlic and cheese croissant, a curry croquette, pork-dusted bread, and a sweet taro cream bread. All of them were delicious in their own way. The garlic and cheese croissant was a nice savory option, with plenty of garlic flavor and a crispy cheese crust. The curry croquette had wonderful warming spices that made it especially flavorful. The pork-dusted bread was definitely the most unusual item. The pork topping reminded me of Wild Bill's Beef Jerky, and somehow those savory flavors worked really well on top of the crunchy laminated bread. Last but certainly not least was the taro cream bread. I was impressed by how light it felt despite being packed with an impressive amount of cream filling. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I'm a sucker for bakeries like this and clearly ordered far more than my waistline needed, but everything I tried was enjoyable. While the coffee was good, the pastries are the real reason to visit, with the coffee serving as an excellent complement. read more

We had heard the bakery was phenomenal and they were right. Wow! They have tons of amazing pastries to buy. Everything we got has been amazing. The best thing is the chocolate croissant. My husband also enjoyed the almond croissant. We have also enjoyed cookies and cheesecake. The egg custard pastry is so creamy and delicious. The butter Madeleine is buttery goodness. Everyone is really nice there too. All the food is great. read more

Tous Les Jours was a much needed pick-me-up in the morning! Right when I walked in, I thought it was so cute! There are so many different food options and I honestly wanted to buy it all because it looked so good! I ordered the Tiramisu Iced Latte and wow, it was delicious! The cold foam was amazing and it was so refreshing to have a latte that I could still taste the espresso! The sweetness did not overpower the espresso at all!! Although it was busy, the drinks came out so quickly too! The other latte was also delicious and my friend mentioned the same thing about how the espresso was not overpowered by everything else! The matcha latte was also very refreshing and tasty! One of my favorite things about Tous Les Jours was that you can smell the fresh espresso! I am looking forward to going back! read more

I love coming here and being able to select my own desserts. The display cases are always full. The desserts are always fresh. I have yet to come here and work but I always see people here working on laptops. So it's pretty peaceful and quiet for the most part. Parking is a bit annoying as it's either street parking through Meter Feeder (if you can find it) or the parking garage. I recently tried the Iced Tiramisu Latte; it was excellent! That cream...I don't even have the words for it. I can't wait to get another. read more

I have driven past here for a year now not knowing what they serve. Finally decided to come in and I love it. Heads up there's a process. When you walk in, grab a platter and tongs. Grab whatever item you want, place on the platter and take to register. They will then ask you if you plan on dining in or if it's to go. However the ambiance is nice. Not overly quiet, not too loud. Enough space for you to bring your laptop and work if need be. However the pasties are very delicious. I can't even say what to get first. Just start with a few items and try something new each time you come in. So many options to choose from. read more

I have been here a couple times and wow. This place is incredible. All of the baked goods always look so fresh and beautiful, you can tell a lot of time and effort goes into them. The inside is super cute, always extremely clean as well. The workers are kind and very quick to answer any questions you may have. But the real reason for this review is the ube croissant. Oh my gosh this was one of the tastiest things i've ever eaten! The croissant was so flaky and buttery and the ube filling was so good, i want a gallon of that alone. The hard shell on the outside was such a good textural addition too. I also love their filled chocolate chip cookie but didn't get a photo of it. Even if you think you don't like crispy cookies, you have to try it! read more

We've gotten carry out here a few times and have never regretted it. They have a decent amount of cute chairs and little tables. It's not the kind of place you'd try to work from, but it is somewhere you'd take your mom if she visits the city. read more

Tous Les Jours is a French-Asian bakery chain that has franchises across many states. They sell baked goods (e.g., breads, cakes, and pastries) and non-alcoholic beverages (e.g., coffees and teas). This particular location is in the East Liberty location of Pittsburgh. I ate here one time. The restaurant contained several display cases of breads, cookies, waffles, bagels, danishes, cakes, macarons, and more. An employee promptly and courteously served me. I purchased one Portuguese egg tart, which cost a few dollars and I rate as 3 stars, and one piece of Orange-Cream cake, which cost several dollars and I rate as 4.5 stars. I did not try any of their beverages. Several small tables and chairs were available and were clean. read more

I liked the variety of items that were available. They had both savory and sweet danishes, pastries, donuts, etc to choose from. I got a bacon, egg, and cheese danish. I don't remember what it was called, but I also got some kind of sugar donut bites filled with Gouda cheese and corn. I do wish the items were warm. They were frequently refilling items throughout the time we were there which was nice to see. I got an iced tiramisu latte which was recommended by the employee at the register. She was very patient with me as it was my first time there and answered my questions! The drink was AMAZING! It is pretty big inside but not a lot of seating and the seating that they do have is very close quarters. I do appreciate that they have wi-fi and charging stations at their tables though so we could work while we were there! Would definitely recommend checking out! read more

I thought this place was really cute. Now I wouldn't say it's appropriate for children that are young. It took a lot to wrangle them because it was very exciting. But with two adults you should be fine. We got a few things to try the one thing that I like the most was the croquette with the curried vegetables inside of it. It was super easy to figure out you just got your tray and then you picked what you wanted from the display cases. Nothing hard about it. I will say that opening the cases and getting things out if you need an accommodations I bet the staff would help you. They also have breads that you can pick up outside of the cases. I also got a unsweetened iced tea and it was delicious. I immediately sent a picture to my friends and I said that we have to go because I wanted to try more of the croquettes that they had. And having an entire plate just for yourself probably looks a little bit crazy so it would be good to go with a few people so we can all try them. It's not far from the house and there's free parking for one hour in a garage around the corner. I would definitely come here again. read more

Four of us stopped by around 5:30pm yesterday to hang out and catch up for a couple of hours. Tous Les Jours was the perfect place to do that! Most of the tables were taken when we got there but we managed to get a table with chairs for us. We set our stuff down and went to grab trays and pick up pastries from the cases with tongs. We got nine pastries and four drinks total and that ran us a little over $80 with 20% included. The pastries themselves were pretty good! The newer ube donut was full of filling which I liked a lot. The drinks were also very good overall. The ambiance is bright with a lot of natural lighting. read more

I got my birthday treats from this bakery and I am now obsessed! I got the chocolate cake, as well as a variety of different pastries. I was able to receive my order through delivery which is an awesome service option. The desserts had just the right amount sweetness and I appreciate the creative twists in their desserts. Especially the chocolate chip cookie / croissant. Now I have not had a chance to visit the bakery , but the quality of the dessert created the perfect ambiance for my at home birthday celebration. I definitely recommend this spot for your next sweet treat! read more

standard bakery chain with lots of options. We got 2 coffees (standard), 2 pastries (croissant and apple pastry - standard), purple sweet potato bread (not good, had no taste of anything but white bread, so basically overpriced white bread) and tiramasu cold latte (average). So good to try but nothing I would come back on my own for read more

I never knew this place existed until yesterday, let alone that it's a franchise. Way too many good things to say about it. Tons of delicious options, things were being made fresh constantly and prices were very fair. They're already made loads of bread that they sell for around eight dollars is hands-down the best bread I've ever had. Plus, their desserts and baked goods are phenomenal. read more

I can't find anything wrong with this place! It's truly so delicious and such a fair price point. The croissants were so flakey and the chocolate tasted unreal. This place literally made me a sweets person. I also like their large variety of drinks from coffee to tea to matcha. I got the honey lavender matcha, which was DELICIOUS. Additionally, they have some other foods that aren't pastries, such as sandwiches! The whole cafe is nice and clean. I enjoy the relaxing music they play. I spent a few hours here working on my laptop, and it was bliss. I'll absolutely be back here plenty of times. read more

So many great items here! My favorite has to be their strawberry filled croissant sandwich. Everything is self serve (gloves, tongs, and tray directly to your left when you walk in). They have plenty of cafe seating if you want to stay and enjoy. They also have a coffees, teas, and specialty drinks. They sell cakes by the whole with variety of design options ranging for children to adults. If you come in the weekend, I would suggest you come early before everything sells out. Unfortunately, I've been here a few times in the evening where everything had already been picked over. read more

New favorite bakery! I finally found the one that partialy replaces what I was so used to in Seattle. Items consumed: 1) Croquettes: I had the curry and also the kim chi variants. Soft with crispy, crumbly crust and each had a savory bite without being overly seasoned or salty! I was super surprised about the subdued nature of the kimchi one was as kimchi normally is quite pungent and I expected the worst. 2) Almond croissant - Been looking forever for this one! The outer layer isn't too hard, just the right amount of filling and the perfect balance. Best almond croissant in town! The other item they just discontinued that took me by surpised was their almond pressed pastry that is basically the almond croissant without the filling, that was what I wanted when I came back; hope they bring this back!! 3) Other items in the baked goods area were all great like the milk bread, cakes, tiramisu, egg tarts, etc. 5 stars! Check 'em out! Free coffee also if you show them you did a google review. read more

I used to get them all the time in Maryland, but after moving away, it was hard to find Korean baked goods. I am so happy to find TLJ in Pittsburgh! I highly recommend getting salted butter rolls! They're so buttery and chewy! They disappeared into my stomach before I even had a chance to take a picture. I also love their cakes and wide variety of pastries they offer. They're light and not overwhelmingly sweet. read more

I came in just after 1 pm on a Sunday. Tous Les Jours had opened recently and this is the first time I've seen it without a line out the door. I popped in hoping I've lucked out. Unfortunately, the cases and baskets were pretty empty. The labels suggested more sweet items and cakes were what I missed. There wasn't quite the selection I had hoped. I ended up with a premium red bean bun and jalapeno croissant. The line moved slowly as I made my way to check out. A few patrons gave up and left. As I was checking out I scanned to see if I could quickly eat in, but alas all the tables were taken and more people seemed to be waiting for a spot to open as they waited for their drinks. The croissant was good, very flaky with hints of jalapenos. Not particularly spicy. The red bean bun had ample filling. The walnut placed in the middle felt unnecessary. Fun Korean French bakery concept. I'm sure I'll be back. read more

Such a cute shop! A friend and I wanted to grab a quick bite and she suggested we go here. When you enter, you grab a tray and some tongs then walk around to explore the options. I ended up getting a sweet frank roll (which was warm and had meat) and a vanilla cream doughnut. There were soooo many good options but I didn't want to overdo it. The staff was very friendly and understood how I was feeling with the overwhelming options. The space had chairs and tables which were super cute. I will definitely be stopping by again as there are a few items I want to try next time. read more

So blown away by this place, wow!!! The endless choices of both savory and sweet hot and cold to go options made it hard to land on something, but I ultimately settled for the strawberry croissant (credit to TLJ website for the picture). Love that we finally have a TLJ in town!! This location is pretty big and they have a good selection of breads and pastries. I really love their milk bread loaves since they're so soft and good for sandwiches. The sweet breads are also delicious! They had this honeydew cream bread that I've never seen before and it was pretty good! The cafe is big and good for working while you have your pastries and coffee/tea. I want to try their cakes and macarons next!! They do sell out very early so definitely go earlier in the day. We went there once at 4pm and they sold out of basically everything. read more

It is so difficult to walk in here and have the restraint to not buy everything displayed in these cases and behind the cake counter. Everything looks and smells delicious. The employees are continuously bringing out fresh items to replenish the cases all throughout the day. On a Sunday afternoon around 3pm, I was surprised to see a good amount of people enjoying coffee and pastries in the seating area, working on their computers, catching up with friends, etc. I think there were maybe 4-5 tables still available. The "shopping" area where you navigate between display cases with your cafeteria style tray and tongs is a bit narrow and with a good crowd on hand, it's difficult to really take your time in deciding and selecting items. We didn't have that problem, luckily, as only one or two other people were picking things out at the same time as us. I chose the matcha cream donut and a pain au chocolate. Both were amazing. I paid around $9 before tax and tip. The donut was light and fluffy, stuffed with matcha cream, and was not too sweet at all. Honestly, I would say it was very lightly sweetened. The pain au chocolate was flaky, fresh, light, and had nice chocolate chunk pieces inside. Can't wait to stop back in. read more

Very, very nice pastry shop! They combine numerous different cultures under one roof -- both Asian and French pastries can be found at this place, and both are expertly made. I got to try out their cocoa hazelnut croissant and mango cream donut. Both were very delicious. The croissant was perfectly buttery and flaky, but not excessively so. The inside was packed with a great amount of chocolate. The hazelnut flavor wasn't very strong (I would have liked a bit more), but still, very nice. The mango donut was absolutely delicious. Served in fancy packaging too. Stuffed with an incredible amount of mango cream. I wish I got a photo! It was very tasty, and the dough itself was light, covered in sugar, and delicious. I would definitely recommend. All in all, the prices are a little bit high, but the quality makes up for it. Some of the tastiest treats out there in the city. I'd recommend this spot! read more

Tous Les Jours is perfect if you're looking for a sweet treat to pair with your coffee! My girlfriend and I checked it out one Sunday for breakfast and tried some of their pastries like the Chocolate Avalanche, Strawberry croissant (her favorite), corn cheese doughnuts, & blueberry sweet cheese danish (my favorite). The corn cheese doughnuts were interesting; we recommend it if you don't mind that combination.
