    Vegetable and pork fried dumplings

We came here for the first time, we wanted to give this a try since we live here in Santee. The young lady greeted us and was so courteous. She sat us and explained the daily specials. We ordered our food was given to us within a timely manner and so were our drinks. It was so good, the flavors were amazing. My mom ordered the tan tan ramen, I had the garlic shrimp and we had the pork and vegetable dumplings. Everything tasted amazing and we will sure come again! I recommend giving this local restaurant a try, the food was delicious and the young lady was nice and great. Clean restaurant and ambience was nice.

What a hidden gem in Santee! The hostess was so funny and kind! And the food was deeeelish! Husband enjoyed the beef bulgogi and I had the tofu soup with pork. Broth had great depth of flavor...not just spicy for the sake of spice. We'll be back!

The place is nice and service was friendly. It looks clean and new inside. They have an unusual mix of different Asian cuisine Vietnamese Japanese and Korean. I got tofu bibimbap, my wife and daughter got chicken catsu, and my son got beef bulgogi. We all enjoyed our meals. It was a bit pricey at about $20 a plate and portions were smaller than I imagined. It was tasty though so I'll be back.

Ordered takeout twice now from Broth & Beyond, and both times have been great! Not too many asian food options in Santee, especially Korean food. I had the bulgolgi bibimbap and it was very tasty and enough for two servings, will have to try it at the restaurant next time in a hot dol-sot. Called ahead and the wait was about 15 minutes. Inside there is plenty of seating, and the dining area is newly renovated and clean. Also looking forward to trying their AYCE menu!

Mix of Korean dishes and Vietnamese. I had the short rib beef pho. Filling enough and satisfying. Curious to try the Korean plates next time. They had a tasty mango passion fruit Sprite drink. Place had more seating than I expected. Tab was over $50 for two entrees and a drink.

Hands down the best ramen and pho place ever!!! The dumplings egg rolls I mean all of it I highly recommend this place. The server Lilly was very good and attentive. Service is quick to get food too. Delicious!!! Look at the sweet note they left me when I ordered pick up

We were a bit skeptical when a place has their hands dipped in so many cuisines. We skipped the Korean food and stuck with Vietnamese. We ordered: -Fish sauce wings ($12 for 6): I love that it was served on a plate of lettuce, Cucumber, and tomatoes. The wings were not overly battered but still had the crunch at every bite. The sauce had the umami flavor of fish sauce with the thick consistency but not runny. -Pho house special ($16): Not bad, on the sweeter end. Reminds me of home cooking, didn't taste any msg. Fresh and light broth. Sriracha brand makes a difference and they carry the Flying Goose brand which we are not a fan. We had left overs and used the rooster brand at home which tasted even better. -Giant beef bone ($12): Giant for sure from the knee cap but not much meat. It had marrow. Ask for scissors. -BBH #1 ($16): Tasted fresh and clean like home cooking. No msg. However, it lacked the spiciness and bold flavors. I was disappointed that it wasn't served with banana blossom. This place has potential. The service was outstanding. You could satisfied your Viet and Korean cravings. Plenty of parking.

    No one has hair here...

I ordered food from Broth and Beyond on Mother's Day for my wife, and the experience was honestly unacceptable. We found a hair in the food, which completely ruined the meal. When I called to let them know, the woman who answered told me, "NO ONE HAS HAIR HERE!!!" I went in to return the food, and the same employee who claimed that had a full head of long black hair. Instead of apologizing or trying to make it right, the attitude was dismissive and unprofessional. Mother's Day is supposed to be special, and this place turned it into a headache. Definitely won't be ordering from here again.

My friend told me about this place, it's in a soft opening. The place previous to this restaurant was the infamous Bagel & Donut Bar. I never ate there because of the horrible reviews I saw. Broth & Beyond has only been in business 2 days. I am surprised they are on top of their game so well as a brand spanking new restaurant. I ordered fried eggrolls and Pho with steak & brisket. Broth was flavorful and not greasy. I could taste the cinnamon, star anise, and cloves. Can't wait to come back when they add the other menu items. Great start!

We came here on a Sunday for dinner because we saw that they had all you can eat. I was looking forward to it because we don't have too many asian spots in east county and the menu had a pretty good variety. The food ranged from okay to pretty good. The restaurant itself seemed clean and there was some simple decor. I was a bit disappointed with the service. It wasn't that busy with only three groups of diners and only one woman working as the server. The service was not very good but warmed up a little towards the end. When we ordered the AYCE, the server asked us if we read the rules and emphasized that if you don't finish something they'll charge you extra. That wasn't a problem, we enjoy AYCE and we already understood. Once we started ordering, she warned us it was a lot and told us we can order more later as we already ordered a good amount even though I wanted to order a bit more. The server was nicer to the other people to dining but she was pretty short with us until towards the end of our meal when we were about to leave. As for the food, for AYCE, the portion sizes are the same full size as if you were ordering a la carte. Still, we wanted to try a variety of items. We ordered the Vietnamese egg rolls, salt and pepper wings, corn cheese, kimchi, side salad, pickled cucumbers, brisket, garlic seafood, white tonkotsu ramen with pork chasu, and a Vietnamese iced milk coffee to go. The egg rolls and wings were okay, not bad but not amazing. The corn cheese was pretty plain and we had to add a good amount of seasoning (pepper and the salty sauce already on the table since there wasn't salt on the tables and we didn't want to ask the server since she seemed already irritated at us asking for a few things). The pickled cucumbers and kimchi were very salty and tasted like it was marinating for too long. The brisket was okay but it was a huge serving. The garlic seafood was a mix of fish balls, mussels, swai, and onions and was very oily. The ramen was surprisingly the star of the show. It was unexpectedly good and that is definitely the dish I would come back for. There was a lot of meat though (like 6 slices of chasu) which I actually wasn't a big fan of. I also wanted to try the pho as the restaurant seems primarily Viet even though there were a variety of asian dishes. I will try that next time as the ramen compelled me to come back and try some other dishes. The iced coffee was very sweet. It was still good but I had to slowly sip/savor it. Overall, we didn't have the best experience service wise but the food was okay/ramen was good so I would give this place a second chance. I felt like they didn't really want us to order AYCE since we could eat a lot but for the value and the quality of some of the dishes, I would give it another chance.

I enjoyed the ramen for a quick lunch and the waiter was friendly! I would like to try their other items if I were to return.

Well, I love to try new places, especially in my neighborhood. Both my friend and I felt the same... decent, but probably won't go back. My $19 chicken ended up being $28 (with tip) because instead of telling me there was a $3 charge for cheese, he just asked me if I wanted it. I assumed it was for lactose intolerant guidlines. Mine was ok, but for $30, definitely not worth it. My friend said her katsu was ok. Service was polite enough. We were only customers the entire time, and we stayed for 2 hours chatting.

We were seated along the wall which had booth seating, which I prefer. For drinks I ordered a Thai tea no boba and the hubs a coke. We order the following items for dinner: Appetizers - - Crispy egg rolls - with pork (4 pieces) - served with veggies and fish sauce, these were tasty. - Salt pepper chicken wings - (8 pieces) they were a tad over fried but flavor was good. - Spring rolls - (2 pieces) with pork and shrimp, we ordered these Togo. Hubs enjoyed these for a late evening snack. Entrees - - Combination fried rice - chicken, shrimp and cha siu (Chinese bbq pork) I liked the flavoring of the fried rice - it was not bland, but I did mix in a tiny bit of hoisin sauce. - Pho rare steak - overloaded with green onions and cilantro. We always order pho but I really wasn't feeling it that evening, so it was all the hubs. If you love tons of green onions and cilantro, get it! The broth had a really strong flavoring of the cilantro. Overall dinner was fairly good. Seemed like there were regular customers that visited often. Staff were super nice and friendly. Parking lot was not packed at all. If in the area, I'd visit again. 2026: 7

At first, she said the order only could be done on 1 bill. And then later she compromised with 2 bills, 5 people per table. That was nice of her! I just had 2 coffees before entering so I decided to skip ordering Thai tea. But they had a large drink menu, of fruit teas and more. My friend had the lychee tea which was very large and looked super refreshing! They also came by often to top off our waters which was nice. To eat, I ordered the $16.99~, Cashew Chicken Stir Fry with White Rice. It came with onion, green onion, carrots, zucchini, bell pepper, and cashews. The carrots were beautifully cut, but a little too crunchy for me to properly enjoy in the stir fry. Everything else was delicious! I think this could definitely be shared between 2-3 people. It was a lot for me, even after a large hike. The sauce was flavorful and not overly salty. I didn't ask for any spice level, but I think I'd choose mild or medium next time. My friends ordered-- - $12.99, Dirty Fried Chicken: This had a blitz coating of lime, mint, and spices. And it was decorated with thinly sliced green onions with a side of sweet chili sauce. The chicken was hot and plump, not dry, and very much mouthwatering! Would recommend. - $14.99, Thai Grilled Chicken Salad: Grilled Chicken Breast on a bed of mixed green salad, carrots, and cucumbers with peanut dressing. It reminded me a little of chicken satay~ it smelled and looked incredible. I think I might order it next time, when I want something light and fulfilling after a hike. - $11.99, Cream Cheese Avocado Wontons (6PC): These came out piping hot and when you took a bite they were oozing. It was very creamy and when you dip into the plum sauce it's a delectable bite. A nice appetizer to share with the table. - $16.99-$19.99 (depends on what protein you get), Pad Thai: This proportion was manageable for one person. The restaurant used thin rice noodles, but it didn't clump excessively compared to other restaurants. The prices are what you'd typically see at a Pan-Asian restaurant, a few dollars more than what you'd want to spend. But these kinds of restaurants, in my opinion, are for enjoying with others. So, if you're sharing food and all that-- the price is worth it (esp with the quantity that is given). Next time, I would probably order one of their noodle dishes rather than rice. So, to start, my wife will occasionally get treated rather well at the restraunt; she was even given a few freebies while she was pregnant with our twins, so I usually thought rather well of this place, but every time I go, the treatment is different (maybe because I am not a tiny little Asian woman, who knows) but anyways, I go there tonight and I order roughly 120$ in food, and that's where things go south. First they charge me 1.50 for asking for my rice noodles without curry (my wife dislikes curry), which I am used to, but I think might offend them. From there, there is some confusion about my order. They almost forget one of my sides in the proccess, and forgot I ordered fried wontons, but again, that is NOT why I am leaving this review. I am leaving this review because of what happened in all this... So, to begin, I ordered off the menu because I wanted my food fresh, but still, they grabbed all our sides and two of my entrees right out of the to go bar; which would be fine EXCEPT the food on the menu is more expensive because it is FRESH, and not soggy or soft from sitting in a metal tray for like an hour and a half! The next thing that happens is while trying to find out about my wantons they: GO THROUGH MY FOOD. They literally touched all my fried items with ungloved hands while I am sitting there at the waiting table with them; trying to figure out their mistake like I was trying to steal food from them. The kicker being that they forgot to charge the wontons! So instead of being like: 'sorry about the inconvenience', they straight up go: 'oh hey, let us charge you for those after we touched all your food'. Needless to say, I was a bit aghast by all this, but what was worse than the service is the fact that the cook purposefully gave my wife bland unseasoned noodles because I asked for then with 'no curry' as if paying an extra 1.50 wasn't enough, they had to also be like: 'screw your taste buds for not liking our spices!' I mean, none of this was necessary, and it all felt pretty gross and rude by the end as I just took my food and left. All that said, my wife was pretty disappointed to hear about this and thinks we may need to find a new chinese place which really sucks. Yeah... but giving me old food, messing up my order, not preparing my food right (even after they charged extra for it), and touching my food makes me realize it's probably for the best. But hey, at least they remembered to charge me fried wontons, customer always comes last, you know?
