Came back today, they are always so nice. I really felt like I was at home. One of the ladies came over and put grilled onions on my food and packaged my food nicely. I love this place and their food. Thank you guys so much! I will be coming back again.

Okay. This place is off the beaten path. About a mile off the 8 but keep going it is so worth it. It is a hole in the wall. It doesn't look like much from the outsider and most people would pass it by. That would be a mistake. The food is superb. The place is clean and the service is just right. The pho was great and the vegetables with chicken was amazing. It's a little out of the way but it is very much worth your time to find it.

Tasty pho spot in El Cajon! Service was fast and friendly. The broth tasted authentic and rich, it had a feeling someone's grandma made it for generations. Prices were reasonable, definitely worth checking out if you are in the area!!

Chicken pho to go

I drive out of my way, past closer pho restaurants to my house, because I enjoy their pho. I called in an order to go and asked for extra jalapeños. Even asked at the front before I left and they said yes. Exactly one jalapeño in the bag. Such a let down.

Wow!!! This food was perfect!! I've had Vietnamese food before and I swore to not eat it again!! Well this place changed my mind!!! Food is fantastic, service is so great they gave us wam tea while waiting for our to-go order. The restaurant is nice, older but nice like grandmas house!! Give them a try!!!

This used to be one of my favorite places but I won't come back after this. I ordered bánh xèo to go. The veggies that came with my item should have been cleaned more carefully. Bánh xèo was soggy with uncooked batter. What a disappointment.

Grilled pork banh mi

My first time eating here and it's THE smallest banh mi I have ever seen!!! It's the same size as a spring roll! Also, I ordered to go and the lady assured me all the fixings included on the side! They forgot to put it in the bag. I have meat and bread. The worst to be craving something and not getting what your ordered. This is a bad first impression.

Amazing food and amazing service! We came in and sat right down. Our amazing waitress did an amazing job taking care of us and provided amazing service. I got the chicken pho and the portion size was very very good. We also got the pork spring rolls and they were AMAZING!! Overall, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Pho Tam!

Pho was alright, the wings we ordered came RAW / RED inside and the manager said "we'll get it right next time" Rather than issue a refund or offer a recook

Filet Mingnon Pho only $15

I love coming here. Small family business vibes that care a lot. Always get great service and food comes out quick!

Summary: The food here is not only flavorful, but very affordable! We ordered 3 large phos, one combination crepe, and the fried tofu appetizer. Service: We were greeted by Diane when we came in. She quickly asked us if we wanted to start with any appetizers. When we let her know that it was our first time visiting, she kindly let us know that she would give us some more time to look over the menu. While we looked over the menu, she brought us over a carrier of sauces: hoisin sauce, sriracha, and soy sauce. I noticed right away that the sauces all looked brand new and completely clean. Usually when I go out to eat, the sriracha and hoisin sauce bottles have crusty spots on them where the sauce comes out. Food: we ordered the rare filet mignon and brisket pho. It was so flavorful that I did not even need to add hoisin and sriracha. They also brought an extra large plate of veggies for our pho. We never had to ask for extra because the portions given were so generous. We also ordered the combination crepe, which had shrimp, pork, and bean sprouts stuffed inside. This was also great! It was my first time trying it but the outside was crispy and flavorful, and the filling had a good amount of meat and veggies. The fried tofu itself was flavorful, but I was disappointed that the onions and jalapeños cooked with the tofu were still raw. Because of that, I couldn't eat the onions- it would've been too harsh of a flavor. Ambiance: it is very quiet here, and they play instrumental music from recent pop songs. The staff are all very friendly.

Doesn't look like a flower to me....

This was floating in the curry chicken dish. At first it was hard to determine what it was.. The owners, I assumed are married, refused to admit that it was a bug. The lady owner was trying to be nice at first. Telling us it was a flower..she knows because she is the cook. After she walked away I took a photo so I could get a closer look. The man took his own photo to prove me wrong. Obviously we didn't eat the food. They noticed and came back to our table only for the argument to commence. I will say the husband agreed to take the curry chicken off of our bill, his wife was PO'd and yapping at him in their language..he said to her Game over.. haha what the heck does that mean. This was our first time and last time spending money at this place. Bugs happen, all they had to do was own it....

The service was excellent the moment we walked in and continued all the way until we left. The entire floor staff were friendly, attentive, and incredibly hardworking--especially as the dinner rush picked up. You could really see them hustling, but they never missed a beat. The food was just as impressive as the service. We started with the shrimp and beef spring rolls with fish sauce, which are always a must for us. For our mains, we ordered a variety of rice platter dishes including grilled shrimp, BBQ pork, BBQ chicken, egg rolls, and a BBQ beef banh mi sandwich--everything was flavorful and satisfying. One thing that really stood out was our waiter, who memorized our entire order without writing anything down--very impressive! I also placed a to-go order for the #99 platter, and everything came out quickly and accurately. We were in and out in under an hour and a half, even during peak dinner time. When the service is exceptional everything else follows! Overall, a fantastic dining experience with great food and exceptional service!!!!

Then as I'm watching them work, the older guy is preparing the tins with spoons and places his fingers on the spoons and the sauce plates. As I'm watching him a young kid grabs a bowl to bring to a customer next to us and he uses his bare hand to wipe out the bowl, obviously seeing something in the bowl. And hands it to the customer. The health and safety board needs to indirect this place. The tables were wiped but you could still see grease remnants from left over food on the table. The lack of sanitary practices gets an " F" rating. It is obvious no one has a food handlers certificate. One plate came out and had to wait over 5 min for next plate to Come out. If you keep your eyes closed and don't watch what they are doing here, you probably think their food is great. We won't ever come here again.

We were seated along the wall which had booth seating, which I prefer. For drinks I ordered a Thai tea no boba and the hubs a coke. We order the following items for dinner: Appetizers - - Crispy egg rolls - with pork (4 pieces) - served with veggies and fish sauce, these were tasty. - Salt pepper chicken wings - (8 pieces) they were a tad over fried but flavor was good. - Spring rolls - (2 pieces) with pork and shrimp, we ordered these Togo. Hubs enjoyed these for a late evening snack. Entrees - - Combination fried rice - chicken, shrimp and cha siu (Chinese bbq pork) I liked the flavoring of the fried rice - it was not bland, but I did mix in a tiny bit of hoisin sauce. - Pho rare steak - overloaded with green onions and cilantro. We always order pho but I really wasn't feeling it that evening, so it was all the hubs. If you love tons of green onions and cilantro, get it! The broth had a really strong flavoring of the cilantro. Overall dinner was fairly good. Seemed like there were regular customers that visited often. Staff were super nice and friendly. Parking lot was not packed at all. If in the area, I'd visit again. 2026: 7

Great Odin's raven... this pho restaurant is kind of a big deal…read more I arrived hungry. Not "snack hungry." I'm talking existential hunger. The kind that makes a man question his place in the universe. Then the bowl arrived -- steaming, aromatic, confident. And just like that, order was restored. The broth? Deep. Rich. Complex. It has clearly lived a full life and has stories to tell. One sip and I knew: this broth did not come here to mess around. It came here to dominate. Balanced spices, silky depth, and warmth that hugged my soul like a cashmere robe. The noodles were perfectly tender, the meat was sliced with the precision of a seasoned anchorman's mustache trim, and the herbs were so fresh I half-expected them to start doing yoga on the table. Every bite was a symphony. Every slurp -- and yes, I slurped proudly -- was a declaration of joy. I briefly considered standing up, placing my hand over my heart, and saluting the kitchen. The atmosphere? Inviting. The service? Smooth and dependable, like a well-delivered evening broadcast. I felt safe. I felt seen. I felt nourished. I left full, happy, and slightly emotional. I may have whispered, "I love you" to the bowl. No regrets. If you enjoy pho -- or food in general -- do yourself a favor and come here. Because when it comes to pho, this restaurant is 60% of the time, amazing every time.

They only serve pho and drinks, no other Vietnamese food or appetizers. I usually don't care about good service at these kind of inexpensive Asian restaurants, but truly they are next level in rushing you even if they're not busy. They ask incessantly from the moment you walk in if you're ready to order. They do, however, get you your order incredibly quickly. Other random service quirks include reaching over you to grab sauce bottles from the table, giving attitude after forgetting to bring XYZ and being asked for it. They're a little better when you ask in Vietnamese for some reason but not by much.
