My son took my daughter and I out to eat here last night, and it was such a great experience from start to finish. The service was excellent the moment we walked in and continued all the way until we left. The entire floor staff were friendly, attentive, and incredibly hardworking--especially as the dinner rush picked up. You could really see them hustling, but they never missed a beat. The food was just as impressive as the service. We started with the shrimp and beef spring rolls with fish sauce, which are always a must for us. For our mains, we ordered a variety of rice platter dishes including grilled shrimp, BBQ pork, BBQ chicken, egg rolls, and a BBQ beef banh mi sandwich--everything was flavorful and satisfying. One thing that really stood out was our waiter, who memorized our entire order without writing anything down--very impressive! I also placed a to-go order for the #99 platter, and everything came out quickly and accurately. We were in and out in under an hour and a half, even during peak dinner time. No one addressed us for almost 5 min in the door. Then a guy seats us, throws the menus on the table and walks away, never speaking one word to us. Then as I'm watching them work, the older guy is preparing the tins with spoons and places his fingers on the spoons and the sauce plates. As I'm watching him a young kid grabs a bowl to bring to a customer next to us and he uses his bare hand to wipe out the bowl, obviously seeing something in the bowl. And hands it to the customer. The health and safety board needs to indirect this place. The tables were wiped but you could still see grease remnants from left over food on the table. The lack of sanitary practices gets an " F" rating. It is obvious no one has a food handlers certificate. One plate came out and had to wait over 5 min for next plate to Come out. If you keep your eyes closed and don't watch what they are doing here, you probably think their food is great. We won't ever come here again. read more

4/2/2026 - my second time here. Arrived around 12:30pm. It's Thursday and the biz was about 75% full. We entered and were sat down immediately. We ordered the following for three persons: 1 Chicken Wings for 10.25, a Bowl Soup of Wonton 6.00, Pork Sandwich 7.50 and Egg Noodle W/ Wonton 14.85. Wings take the longest to make. Excellent again. The wonton soup had 3 large port wonton in there, very good. The pork sandwich we will not purchase again. Fatty and greasy. The egg noodle soup was super hot and filling. Wow I never knew there was a second location! So glad it's here in this area! Thai tea was good here, boba nice and soft. There's ample parking and seating in this restaurant. They also have booth seating which I love. Service was great here and food took a bit longer to come out versus most pho places I go to, but still very quickly. Prices are reasonable. I will say under our booth it was a little bit dirty with food pieces from prior guests. Not sure if it was just from earlier that day or a few days because there was a bit actually. My food arrived quickly, I appreciated that they didn't skimp on the bean sprouts. limes and basil. The broth was a delicious umami bomb of beef, ginger and star anise. After I finished the meat and noodles, I made sure to drink all the broth. The meat portions were generous and I used a little sriracha and plum sauce on the side for dipping the meat in. We were greeted and sat quickly and felt a little rushed by getting asked 3 times by 3 different workers if we were ready to order within 5 minutes of sitting. Very hard to eat so I was hoping maybe it was just the few pieces and picked at the noodles. I got distracted with my other meal when we were handed the bill. I noticed the bill said "Rare Steak & Flank & Fatty Brisket" which is what I was avoiding the fatty part.. I do not enjoy fatty meats. I brought my concern to the workers and they seemed to disagree saying it says that on the menu which it does not. It's so very clear that the menu STATES FATTY IN OTHER OPTIONS NOT #6. Not sure why it then changes on the receipt. I sat on it a bit and called the man over to show him that I clearly picked a few parts out and showed him it's nothing but fatty meat which I didn't want and he still disagreed. My plate showed very well that I didn't eat more than just a few pieces of noodles and picked at the meat then drank some broth. It was still full and didn't fit in the To go box. Sadly after explaining over and over he didn't understand that they labeled the menu wrong. I wasn't even offered a solution other than "it is fatty". So why is it labeled on some options on the menu very specific but not others ? Very disappointing I left paying for a meal I won't eat. It's about 6:30 on a Saturday night. Music is soft so we can hear each other talk. Mildly busy and definitely seems like a place for those in the know and authentic. Staff is friendly yet busy. Long tables we'll set up for families, groups or get to know your neighbors and share style. Placed order to go as it's on my way home and mom is nursing an injured knee. We had the pho with rare beef and brisket and it didn't disappoint! One of the best we've had. Same with chicken Vietnamese sandwich yummy. I was looking for a place that served Bun Bo Hue and saw great reviews about their broth. This is one of the top spots for Bun Bo Hue. All of the food we ordered were satisfying. The portions are huge and we went home with a lot of food leftover. I also ordered the Lemon Grass chicken plate and egg noodle wonton soup which was yummy. The only thing I would recommend that the servers be more attentive. It took a little while to get their attention when trying to get the check. You walk into a clean and open concept restaurant. The service was quick and on point. They must have a lot of regulars because they asked once we sat if we knew what we wanted. Always a good sign. When we asked for more time, they didn't give us a hard time, but didn't give much extra time. Ha! I ordered the rare steak pho and my husband ordered the grilled beef. I also got a thai iced tea. The tea came in a to-go cup, which I appreciated, and was very good. The pho broth had such a deep and yummy flavor. You get all the trimmings on the side. This place was like a hidden gem to me. It's located in a little strip mall in Santee off Cuyamaca, where you wouldn't really notice it. Fortunately, there's been a bunch of other reviews so I stumbled across it. I was craving some sort of hearty soup, so I checked to see if they had a "beef noodle soup". I was in luck! Not only did they have one but it was a popular order. I decided to head into the restaurant around 8:15pm on a Saturday. It was fairly full inside (which seemed like a good sign to me), and yet I still had somewhere to sit without waiting. Right away they brought me a menu and asked what I'd like to drink. I just started with a water and let the gentleman know that I needed a few minutes. I did already have the Bun Bo Hue in mind but was thinking of maybe starting with an appetizer. I was excited to know that they had multiple choices of noodle types and I went with the rice noodle. I was feeling pretty hungry, so I ordered and extra side of noodles when I ordered the Bun Bo Hue (beef noodle soup). I also chose to start with their Vietnamese Eggrolls. I only ordered 2 since I knew the soup was going to be filling. After ordering the server came back to my table within a couple minutes to drop off the side of bean sprouts & herbs to add to my soup. Not much later the soup came out along with the side of extra noodles. The eggrolls came out about 7 minutes after the soup and they were worth the wait! They were much bigger than I expected and crispy! The Bun Bo Hue was some of the richest tasting beef noodle soup I have ever had. I looked at it knowing I would end up taking most of it home. We visited this place last night and had the worst service. We entered the restaurant and the girl at the cashier just pointed to seat ourselves. She then came over and dropped off 2 menus. We looked over the menu and decided what we wanted to order and then a couple was seated next to us. The girl that gave us our menus preceded to take the couples order next to us and didn't even bother to ask if we were ready to order. Our order was finally taken after the people next to us. But then the girl had to come back just confirm my order. Then shortly after our appetizer and my daughter's Thai tea was brought over. Then my daughter's Pho was brought over. Which she couldn't eat right of way cause they failed to bring utensils with the order. So we waited a while before my plate was brought out and the finally asked for utensils. I ordered a soda with my meal and that was never brought to me. And not once did anyone come to check if everything was ok. But the people next to us got great service. But not us. It's almost like we were invincible. I think we won't be coming back to eat here. read more

Went here for the first time ever the other week as I've seen it many times going to the Costco in Santee. As with every pho place when I first try them, I always go for the special large. That gives me a chance to try all the different meats they have. And I have to say, it's really good. A solid 4.5/5 in East County. The fixings they give you are generous and good as well (plenty of Thai basil, culantro, lime, jalapenos, bean sprouts, etc.). Not like some places that give you lemons... a no-no for a pho place. Broth was good and they had sate table side. The menu was extensive and had other dishes as well. If those are as good as the pho, I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area as there aren't as many good pho places in East County. read more
