This place was like a hidden gem to me. It's located in a little strip mall in Santee off Cuyamaca, where you wouldn't really notice it. Fortunately, there's been a bunch of other reviews so I stumbled across it. I was craving some sort of hearty soup, so I checked to see if they had a "beef noodle soup". I was in luck! Not only did they have one but it was a popular order. I decided to head into the restaurant around 8:15pm on a Saturday. It was fairly full inside (which seemed like a good sign to me), and yet I still had somewhere to sit without waiting. Right away they brought me a menu and asked what I'd like to drink. I just started with a water and let the gentleman know that I needed a few minutes. I did already have the Bun Bo Hue in mind but was thinking of maybe starting with an appetizer. I was excited to know that they had multiple choices of noodle types and I went with the rice noodle. I was feeling pretty hungry, so I ordered and extra side of noodles when I ordered the Bun Bo Hue (beef noodle soup). I also chose to start with their Vietnamese Eggrolls. I only ordered 2 since I knew the soup was going to be filling. After ordering the server came back to my table within a couple minutes to drop off the side of bean sprouts & herbs to add to my soup. Not much later the soup came out along with the side of extra noodles. The eggrolls came out about 7 minutes after the soup and they were worth the wait! They were much bigger than I expected and crispy! The Bun Bo Hue was some of the richest tasting beef noodle soup I have ever had. I looked at it knowing I would end up taking most of it home. The meat was delicious. Great flavor, great portion.... Reasonably priced. Highly suggest this spot! read more

Went here for the first time ever the other week as I've seen it many times going to the Costco in Santee. As with every pho place when I first try them, I always go for the special large. That gives me a chance to try all the different meats they have. And I have to say, it's really good. A solid 4.5/5 in East County. The fixings they give you are generous and good as well (plenty of Thai basil, culantro, lime, jalapenos, bean sprouts, etc.). Not like some places that give you lemons... a no-no for a pho place. Broth was good and they had sate table side. The menu was extensive and had other dishes as well. If those are as good as the pho, I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area as there aren't as many good pho places in East County. read more

Would advise double checking take out orders since they always seem to forget something... 2 of 3 times they've forgotten parts of my order which is very frustrating since they cant process refunds either unless you go back. We visited this place last night and had the worst service. We entered the restaurant and the girl at the cashier just pointed to seat ourselves. She then came over and dropped off 2 menus. We looked over the menu and decided what we wanted to order and then a couple was seated next to us. The girl that gave us our menus preceded to take the couples order next to us and didn't even bother to ask if we were ready to order. Our order was finally taken after the people next to us. But then the girl had to come back just confirm my order. Then shortly after our appetizer and my daughter's Thai tea was brought over. Then my daughter's Pho was brought over. Which she couldn't eat right of way cause they failed to bring utensils with the order. So we waited a while before my plate was brought out and the finally asked for utensils. I ordered a soda with my meal and that was never brought to me. And not once did anyone come to check if everything was ok. But the people next to us got great service. But not us. Hidden gem! It was clean and neat inside the restaurant, and the service was impressively fast. The food came out very quickly, but it was all SO fresh too! The vegetarian egg rolls were delicious, and the veggie pho was very flavorful. My boyfriend had a banh mi, and it was also delicious!! He actually said it was "the best sandwich he ever had in his life". I just came here yesterday and have a ton of leftovers, but I already want to go back because of how great my experience was. This place was a hidden gem and found it by accident. It is situated in a quiet strip mall and is very nice inside. Their customer service was attentive and so on the ball as they were always checking on all customers throughout the restaurant. Loved their Pho broth as it wasn't greasy and was flavorful. There was ample portions of eye round beef, brisket and small egg noodles. I am not a cilantro fan so I had those left out. Ordered the chicken banh mi and shrimp spring rolls to go and the order process was seamless. Staff were very nice and service was quick. The banh mi was toasted perfectly, the chicken was seasoned well, and the other ingredients such as the daikon didn't overpower the sandwich. Food was great! The best pho place we've tried around Santee/El Cajon/La Mesa area. The pho tasted delicious and was filled with meats as described. The drinks- we got thai tea and soda with egg yolk and condensed milk were really good. Nothing too sweet or too overpowering of a taste, just perfect amount. The service was great too. We were seated and given the food within the 5-10mins that we got at the place. The Ambiance was good. Everything was clean and very nice as well.
