Ours just has slight grilled onions and jalapeno, I was looking for the extra vegetables. Small and very very greasy wings. 6 come in an order and online they are $16.96. Nice little sit down restaurant with different Asian dishes. Perfect place for a bowl of ramen on a cold evening. We were served quickly and our Tonkatsu ramen came out right away. The ramen was very delicious and flavorful. There was a lot of noodles and toppings (egg, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, green onions, and fried garlic). I love ramen and I saw this place was close to my house, me and my boyfriend went and were deciding what we wanted and the woman behind the counter was very impatient and when we were finally ready she was being very dismissive and short. We got our food ( both got the tonkotsu ramen) usually our favorite and never fails anywhere we go. We took it home and were very disappointed. It was like they just poured some noodles with some chicken broth and plopped some soft boiled eggs in there with no seasoning or marinade whatsoever. We ordered: -Fish sauce wings ($12 for 6): I love that it was served on a plate of lettuce, Cucumber, and tomatoes. The wings were not overly battered but still had the crunch at every bite. The sauce had the umami flavor of fish sauce with the thick consistency but not runny. -Pho house special ($16): Not bad, on the sweeter end. Reminds me of home cooking, didn't taste any msg. Fresh and light broth. Sriracha brand makes a difference and they carry the Flying Goose brand which we are not a fan. We had left overs and used the rooster brand at home which tasted even better. -Giant beef bone ($12): Giant for sure from the knee cap but not much meat. It had marrow. Ask for scissors. -BBH #1 ($16): Tasted fresh and clean like home cooking. No msg. However, it lacked the spiciness and bold flavors. I was disappointed that it wasn't served with banana blossom. This place is located in a small, unassuming strip mall of Mission Gorge boulevard in Santee. It's next to Okawa Steak & Sushi. We were craving pho soup and decided to check this place out. The menu is full of other entrees, and I recommend trying some of their other dishes as well. We ordered a pho short ribs, pho filet mignon, miso ramen and shoyu ramen. The ramen noodles were delicious and they had a firm texture and were able to maintain their shape without becoming too soggy. The ramen soup was refreshing and flavorful. I had the pho fillet mignon. The broth had a complex flavor profile of hearty, and savory with undertones of onions and garlic. Tammi was extremely friendly. She walked us through how she prepares the pho broth each day. I could tell she took great care and pride in her work. We also ordered the watermelon lemonade. The taste was refreshing and you can tell it was made from fresh watermelon. We also tried the mango pudding sago dessert. It was sweet and had jackfuit and coconut jelly. My kids love it. Overall, this place is a hidden gem. The atmosphere is a quaint quiet place to enjoy a nice meal with your family. I implore everybody to give this place a try. My friend told me about this place, it's in a soft opening. The place previous to this restaurant was the infamous Bagel & Donut Bar. I never ate there because of the horrible reviews I saw. I ordered food from Broth and Beyond on Mother's Day for my wife, and the experience was honestly unacceptable. We found a hair in the food, which completely ruined the meal. When I called to let them know, the woman who answered told me, "NO ONE HAS HAIR HERE!!!" I went in to return the food, and the same employee who claimed that had a full head of long black hair. We came here on a Sunday for dinner because we saw that they had all you can eat. I was looking forward to it because we don't have too many asian spots in east county and the menu had a pretty good variety. The food ranged from okay to pretty good. The restaurant itself seemed clean and there was some simple decor. I was a bit disappointed with the service. It wasn't that busy with only three groups of diners and only one woman working as the server. The service was not very good but warmed up a little towards the end. When we ordered the AYCE, the server asked us if we read the rules and emphasized that if you don't finish something they'll charge you extra. That wasn't a problem, we enjoy AYCE and we already understood. Once we started ordering, she warned us it was a lot and told us we can order more later as we already ordered a good amount even though I wanted to order a bit more. The server was nicer to the other people to dining but she was pretty short with us until towards the end of our meal when we were about to leave. As for the food, for AYCE, the portion sizes are the same full size as if you were ordering a la carte. Still, we wanted to try a variety of items. We ordered the Vietnamese egg rolls, salt and pepper wings, corn cheese, kimchi, side salad, pickled cucumbers, brisket, garlic seafood, white tonkotsu ramen with pork chasu, and a Vietnamese iced milk coffee to go. The egg rolls and wings were okay, not bad but not amazing. The corn cheese was pretty plain and we had to add a good amount of seasoning (pepper and the salty sauce already on the table since there wasn't salt on the tables and we didn't want to ask the server since she seemed already irritated at us asking for a few things). The pickled cucumbers and kimchi were very salty and tasted like it was marinating for too long. The brisket was okay but it was a huge serving. The garlic seafood was a mix of fish balls, mussels, swai, and onions and was very oily. The ramen was surprisingly the star of the show. It was unexpectedly good and that is definitely the dish I would come back for. There was a lot of meat though (like 6 slices of chasu) which I actually wasn't a big fan of. I also wanted to try the pho as the restaurant seems primarily Viet even though there were a variety of asian dishes. I will try that next time as the ramen compelled me to come back and try some other dishes. The iced coffee was very sweet. It was still good but I had to slowly sip/savor it. Overall, we didn't have the best experience service wise but the food was okay/ramen was good so I would give this place a second chance. I felt like they didn't really want us to order AYCE since we could eat a lot but for the value and the quality of some of the dishes, I would give it another chance. read more

Imagine having two bowls of scalding hot pho and ramen held directly over your head, THAT was my 2 year old child's experience at this place. I did my best to cover my child as I held back extreme, loss of words, rage until they realized what they had done. This is egregious! No apology or expressions of "love" could EVER make up for their horrendous neglect for basic food service safety. I would encourage ANYONE thinking of eating at this establishment to reconsider. How was the food? Absolutely disgusting! We had Pho and Ramen and I couldn't taste anything over the over salted "water", I wouldn't dare call it broth. Customer service: Other than what was already mentioned, it was the worst experience. There were four tops being serviced, yet they were in such a rush. I don't think we had finished our drink order before they started to walk away. When they came to check on us after everything was delivered to the table, I made by extreme displeasure known. We received empty apologies, no effort to "make it right" after eating less than half because I couldn't stomach it anymore. We decided to leave, so they brought the bill. I guess when you express you will NEVER come back to their establishment, there isn't much incentive to "make it right". We begrudgingly paid nearly $40 PLUS their 3% service fee for credit card transactions. As I told the staff, and who we believe to be the owner, we will never come back to this place and I would encourage others to do the same. The day can't come soon enough where their business fails and they are forced to shutter their doors. If they read this and think this is a harsh review or over reaction to bad service, may I remind them, THEY through their neglectful and unprofessional service, placed our child in a situation that could have been life endangering and altering. ( To be clear, placing our child in a situation that there was a possibility of having scalding liquid dropped on the top of her head. Been hearing about this place so I decided to stop by on a whim. It was delicious. Kinda of like a Korean Vietnamese fusion place. I was surprised at the selection. Cost wise it was very appropriate. We did order the spicy cheese chicken as shown in the restaurant window. It was not an item on the menu. You have to order the spicy chicken and add cheese for an additional cost. I did not mind the additional cost for the cheese however I do think 6.00 extra for cheese is a bit too much. Cost of all other items were well worth the price and actually quite economical and inexpensive. Taste of the food was great and flavorful. All in all I would go back again. This is our first and last visit to this restaurant. We came here tonight with 4 adults and 6 kids, and it was honestly one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. Right from the beginning, the service was awful. The table they gave us was too small hard to get in and out, so while the kids was getting in the seats, accidentally knocked over a cup of water. A male server immediately snapped at us and said, "You kids should learn how to be good behavior." That was shockingly rude and completely uncalled for. Then another female server took over, but things didn't get any better. The food portions were tiny -- especially the kids' meal, which was just noodles and broth for $10. Also the flavor was bland and definitely not authentic Korean food. The final straw was at checkout. They automatically added a gratuity to each of our bill without any notice or sign stating that large parties would be charged. When we questioned it, the waitress rudely said, "Every restaurant does that." And when I asked why there was no sign, she said it was "on an old menu." That's just ridiculous and dishonest. Between the rude staff, poor food, and sneaky gratuity charge, this place was a huge disappointment. We will never come back again, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. PS. The inability for a BUSINESS OWNER to take accountability for their poor customer service skills that clearly are ever present in several other reviews is pretty sad. A woman that is unable to give grace to a family with children and instead complain that a family chose to eat at your restaurant is not acceptable. You failed to mention that we did clean up our mess, we even had to ask for extra napkins that you never gave during our meal so that we could clean up the baby's mess as well as stacking all of the dishes up nicely as we are decent human beings. You also could have taken this review as a growth opportunity to see that there is a pattern of unhappy customers. Accountability and an apology always goes a long way in the HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY. if you do not like people, let alone children, you are in the wrong business. Also, as far as "throwing pennies" that comment is severely inaccurate. You provided change to my mother after we paid our bill and you were clearly rushing us so we were frantically trying to get out of the empty restaurant. There were only two people in the restaurant when we arrived. It took almost 40 minutes to get our order. The Pho tastes like water and the eggrolls had a strange taste to them.
