First time here. Won't come back. A previous Yelp reviewer stated that this place was subpar. Couldn't agree more. I started with a regular michelada, with Dos XX as it states on the menu. Asked for extra tomato juice. While the flavor was good and the drink was tasty, there was SO MUCH ice, that my tall michelada was probably a good 3/4 cup of beverage to 2 cups of ice. At $3 for the michelada mix, I'd hoped for a little more. And then the $1 for extra tomato juice (maybe a tablespoon), is a joke. Decided to try the BLT. 3 strips of bacon, two slices of tomato and a leaf of lettuce, reminded me that I'm definitely paying for the rent, salary, electricity and water than the food itself. If I wasn't here for my uncles birthday, I would say, "You can make a better BLT at home with grocery brand bacon and bread". But not as awful as the lobster bisque. Folks. They should have called it lobster bisque juice. I think I may have had 3 pieces of tiny lobster bits. There were more fresh tomato pieces in the "soup" than their were lobster pieces. I thought the tomato pieces were supposed to be cooked in a bisque. And I thought that soup was supposed to be served hot. This "juice" is not what you're looking for on cold winter's day. Non existent service. My Son and I stopped by for a bite a few weeks ago. We stood there for about five minutes, the dinning room was empty everyone was at the bar. We were never greeted by anyone nor was there a sign of any sort. We seen the staff look our way but that was the end of that. We just walked out. Our visit previous to this was during renovations and we were new in town. We decided to give this place another try after renovation, yeah first impression was correct. If I could give he place a 0 star I would do so. Absolutely nothing on the menu is available if you come in before 4pm except drinks. Ordered stuffed salmon at 348pm and they "can't serve it " until 4pm. I can only get regular salmon. I guess fish can only be stuffed after 4pm, 12 minutes later ... waiter went to ask the chef and he declined and told me to pick something else so I picked chicken and dumplings which I was ALSO declined, because it's before 4pm smh I guess they don't like making money before 4pm . The reason for my 1-star review is that Brooklyn's has taken the decision to gouge customers with inflated prices. $16 for a chicken sandwich that doesn't even come with fries. $23 for a chicken cob salad. Every cocktail is $14 or more. Also, the AC is not cooling the restaurant well enough, so it was an unpleasant experience. A final complaint is that they charged an auto-gratuity of 22% on a party of six. Since when has 22% become the defacto service charge with no room to adjust based upon the level of service. The food and service were good, but I do not appreciate being taken advantage of. This will be my last visit to Brooklyn's in Buda. read more

There is a lot I would like to change about Brooklyn's, but I cannot deny that the food is good! For what they are charging (prices seem to go up every time we visit) I wish they had a better ambiance. I was really hoping for some big changes during the remodel, but it still looks and feels pretty much the same. The boudin balls, pork chop, shrimp and grits, and gumbo are my go-to's and they never disappoint! I wish they would offer more complete meals versus the a la carte style menu as it feels like you end up spending a fortune building your own meal. I had ordered for from a delivery service. Some of the issue was due to the menu being time based and the delivery service not having a time based menu. Most of the food tasted alright. The burger was definitely an oddity as it was heavily seasoned and didn't taste like a typical burger. I haven't ordered again since. It was bad, just not my cup of tea. read more

I've been living in Buda 10yrs and this used to be our go to restaurant on main street. I went on April 2nd 2024 for my Birthday and I'm sorry to say that I can see why the place is now empty. They gutted the place out sometime last year and while it has a lovely ambiance they also changed the menu too everything is now Al a cart and it's so much more expensive, as well as smaller portions. I guess they want us to pay for the new refurbished look. I won't be back which is a shame it's just not affordable anymore. A BLFGT which is bacon lettuce fried green tomatoes was $16 this is without fries and now asking $5.25 and that is for a small portion of fries. This used to cost $12.95 for both and the fries were double the amount. I get that there is inflation but come on now! $21.25 for a sandwich and fries and no drink yet.. Really disappointed in this approach as I'm pretty sure are many of us. read more

What a huge disappointment. I try to always be positive but I don't want anyone else to waste their money. Brooklyn's looked like such a nice place. I thought we had found a fun new place for lunch UNTIL our food arrived. The fried green tomatoes were so hard they were difficult to eat and had no flavor. My husband ate one and I ate 1/2 of one. $16 and they weren't edible. I still had hopes for the chicken fried steak. The breading and gravy were good but the steak was incredibly tough. Needless to say we spent $70 and are still hungry. The waitress didn't even ask why the tomatoes were barely touched and half of the chicken fried steak wasn't eaten. read more

Best happy hour in Buda! This was my first time busting Brooklyn's, I brought my mother in law and my grandmother here (which was a huge risk since it was my first time too), it did not disappoint! Noelie served us and provided great service. I ordered the 967 burger with Mac cheese and mashed potatoes on the side m. We came during happy hour (they have the best happy hour in Buda) and everything was delicious and affordable. This review is based on our visit last weekend. We were meeting a couple for dinner & called to see if we'd need reservations. Employee said no, we'd be fine, come on in! When we arrive, we discover the restaurant is CLOSED for renovations, but the outdoor patio is open. Embarrassed, bc I'm the one who suggested this place, I ask if we should go somewhere else. I also told our friends we'd even called ahead & they'd made NO mention of this. Not to worry - my friend had done the same thing and no mention of it to her, either! We decide to stay & are seated on the patio. Maybe 12-15 tables seated for dinner. The service was SO slow & terrible, we waited abt 30 min for our initial drinks, which were served in plastic cups. Our server finally took our order (giving us excuses why everything is taking so long, how slammed they are, as we look at the 12-15 tables & servers all over the place). When the food finally comes out (well over an hour after being seated), it's all in paper to-go containers & we were given plastic forks to eat. We all just busted out laughing at the absurdity of it all. The food was mediocre, but took a backseat to the sub-par experience. No manager ever came over to apologize or even check on us, no explanation for anything taking so long, or the lack of real plates & utensils. $200 later, we left completely disappointed. I will add, we had been to Brooklyn once before & just loved it, which is why I recommended it to our friends, one of whom is the Food & Bev GM for a private club in Austin. This could have all been avoided if, when we called, they would have just told us they weren't really open, but serving picnic-style out back. So disappointing. read more

Quaint and quiet. A staple of adorable downtown buda. Came to brunch with my bestie on Sunday morning. The wait was less then 10 minutes. The service is excellent. Our waitress was sweet and attentive. We got a mimosa juice flight, prickly pear, hibiscus, and pineapple and all were delicious. The place was decorated for fall and the breakfast was scrumptious. I enjoy the food here and we order to-go occasionally. Nothing wrong with the food, in my opinion. Howeverrrr...today, we ordered dinner for pick-up. We requested two drinks with our meals. The online ordering menu doesn't specify a drink size, but they charged us around $6 for both drinks. We were expecting a standard, 12-16oz cup. Maybe even a 20oz cup, considering the large glass bottled sodas are usually around $2 to $3 a piece. When we got to the restaurant, we had to ask about our drinks because they were missing from our order. We were told they didn't have any cups with lids except these child sized cups. They sent us out the door with these little 8oz cups full of ice and very little drink. We don't even have kids...I guess we'll donate these novelty child cups when we're done with them Don't bother ordering any drinks to go from here unless you're just looking for something to sip on the drive home. read more

Came to Brooklyn's expecting great things seeing how positive these reviews are. But was disappointed overall with what we experienced. First of all the menu and items they offer are incredibly overpriced. $16 for a spinach dip appetizer that wasn't good? Come on. Two of our $15 sandwich dinners don't come with sides of chips or fries, only during lunch apparently. How is that acceptable? Dinner entrees we're lacking on the menu but it was full of "a la carte" options that charge you extra to build your own meal. The food was average with above average prices. Nice place with good food. We had a classic burger with fries, which was cooked to order and nicely seasoned. The thin fries as a side were very good. Also had red beans and rice with a side of spicy Brussel sprouts. RB&R with andouille sausage was nice; however the Brussel sprouts were the bomb! Nice and spicy with a smoky flavor from the bacon. I flew into Austin to see a friend and we decided to eat and shop in Buda. My friend had been to Brooklyn's before and really liked it. Also, I have certain food restrictions and she thought it might work. Their food selection was great. I got the veggie scramble, that was actually a sandwich, and I skipped the bread. It was huge and delicious (and filling). Everyone was nice and our server Logan was great. He had great recommendations, very knowledgeable about menu and was on it when we needed anything. This is a great place for brunch, lunch or dinner. The menu has a variety of southern and Cajun offerings. There are vegetarian options as well which is helpful.
