Had lunch delivered recently... and it was SO GOOD I'M STILL DREAMING ABOUT IT. The shrimp & grits with the green beans? Legit had a ''When Harry Met Sally' style outburst... but at least I was at home by myself I wish I would have taken photo justice for the visually influenced folks. Only giving this a one star because I can't give it a zero star!! Came in here for my grandmas first time and we ordered the burger medium rare!! It came well done , not once but twice!!! Manager came over and made the situation completely worse!!! She was stubborn, didn't want to help with anything!! Tried charging me for the wrong burger and my new food!! Told her we weren't coming back and said that was our decision!!! I didn't get to eat any dinner with my family!! We will NEVER be back!! 2nd time trying this place. Came in for lunch. Found 2 seats at the bar after 1pm, otherwise a 15 min wait. Both had the half sandwich with soup. Mine was a half bacon lettuce and fried green tomato sandwich and gumbo with added shrimp. Sandwich came dry and I had to ask for mayo, which was given to me as a packet. Felt like something you get at the airport. Gumbo had way too much rice. Should have asked for that on the side. Do not know how this place is so busy with food so bad. Two strikes, your out. This place is a gem in Buda!! It's located in the historic downtown on Main Street! We have been there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We have also been there for drinks. Everything we tried was amazing! It's hard to find anything disappointing in this place. The breakfast/brunch is delicious. The staff is very nice so my rating is based only on the food. Crab cakes are very fishy, fried green tomatoes have a very strong pungent vinegar flavor which gives them a terrible taste so these are not your typical fried green tomatoes. There's no seasoning on the portobello mushroom or the green beans. The salads and ranch dressing are very good. Cornbread was good with honey butter. Fried fish taste much better than the grilled fish. Red beans and rice were good. read more

Enjoyed their burger with bacon jam along with a generous portion of fries, washing it down with their prickly pear Margarita. Will definitely order again, in fact I already have. Tried a bunch of things since the company was paying and most were pretty good. Empanadas were 4.5 stars and the best thing we tried. The Ceasar salad was 2 stars but what are you gonna do.. it's a Ceasar salad The ribs looked good and we had high hopes but these are not great and really just 3 stars The Moscow mule was not great and rated just a star for the effort. read more

I've never, ever, in my life had leftovers when I ordered ribs. The sauce tasted like hormel chili mixed with vinegar. I know a good rub, and it shouldn't leave a dry, gritty texture after preparation. The salad was actually something to rave about. This was the prettiest blend of fresh greens I've seen in awhile. They packed it onto that little plate, and it was good eats! Ive lived in Buda for 5 years now, and have been here dozens of times. The food is good, a little on the heavy side, but still good and full of soul. Shrimp and cheddar grits are my favorite thing on the menu, followed by the fried chicken club. It's a monster. Service is fine, ambience is just ok... it's an old historical building so you can't expect much there. Bartenders are usually generous with the alcohol in mixed drinks too. I have tried several different items on the menu thinking I will eventually find something they do great... no so much. The seafood is chewy and seemingly just reheated frozen stuff. When I first moved to Buda over 3 years ago, Brooklyn's was my go to. But the last several times I've visited I've been extremely disappointed. The service has been terrible and the food has been pretty bad considering they have raised the prices significantly. We've gotten extremely chewy and burnt alligator bites time after time. Last time I ordered a Cajun style fish with a cream sauce with crawfish on top (can't remember what it was called) and it was extremely fishy and overcooked so bad that I had to use a knife to cut it. The one thing that is consistently delicious is the side of brussel sprouts. This place has sadly gone down hill. read more

We ordered biscuits and gravy with country potatoes and andouille sausage. The biscuits were on the dryer side but had good flavor. The potatoes were crispy and flavorful. We also ordered eggs Benedict. Visually very appealing, but after a couple of minutes, the Hollandaise began to separate. However, it had good flavor. Could have used a pinch more acidity. The poached eggs were over cooked with nearly solid yolks on the inside. Overall, a generous 4/5 because of great service, good food, and decent prices. read more

We visited this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. Waited for a table for a little bit, no problem. While looking over the menu, apparently everything you order is a la carte, HOWEVER, Monday through Friday all sides are included in the meal or sandwich, which is the SAME price on the weekend. I called BS on this and asked why. I was told they are "specials" during the week. However, the menu is the exact same on the weekend as it is during the week. They need to stop taking a patron for granted and don't rip off customers. My burger was well done. I ordered medium-well. The server said, " you ordered well-done", and didn't ask to make a new one. We had the meatloaf special and it was fairly tasteless with a sweet mushroom sauce on top. The mashed potatoes had that crusty warmed over taste.
