Solid burger, probably the best burger I've had in a while. Not at all greasy, perfect temp. It was missing cheese, this burger doesn't come with it so I had to ask for it after the fact. The BBQ sauce is delicious, the onion ring just right. The bun didn't fall apart. The fries could use a little seasoning that isn't just salt because they felt a little bland next to the burger. Oh, and it's less than $13. Like where can you do and get a 1/2lb burger that actually feels like a 1/2lb for that price. Here, that's where. The waitress was super sweet and attentive. They weren't busy which was shocking. The restaurant itself could use a little more ambiance. I know it's more of a sports bar, but it is cold feeling. Knowing if there's specials would help too. Not charred like a smash, just a little burnt. I would be willing to try the wings, but not sure I'll come back. UPDATE: After going to the bar to get the bill, I see that the both burgers were marked as well done. My original server left after taking my order, but there was no question about the doneness level when I ordered. So I asked the cashier if the default was well done for the burgers. Wow--what a hidden gem in Kyle, Texas! After working late and heading to a concert, we completely skipped dinner and were starving afterward. Most places were closed except for a few chain drive-thrus, but this spot was still open and we'd been wanting to try it ever since they opened. The kitchen closes at 1:30am. Perfect timing! We ordered the chicharrones with guacamole, the Boring Burger, and the Piiggy burger with sweet potato fries. Let me start by saying: you HAVE to order the chicharrones. My husband usually doesn't even like chicharrones, but he absolutely loved these. They were freshly fried, not oily at all, super light and airy and gone in about two minutes flat. The burgers might look like typical bar burgers, but don't be fooled. They were surprisingly not greasy at all, made with fresh (not frozen) beef patties. The buns were soft yet sturdy and didn't fall apart while eating. This is what I'd call elevated bar food with great flavor and noticeable freshness. I'm not usually a burger person, but I genuinely loved these because they were fresh and not heavy or greasy. The sweet potato fries were also a win. Again, not greasy at all. Honestly, they tasted like they came out of an air fryer, which made them feel lighter and healthier. The space is great too: indoor and outdoor seating, plus a kids' play area just outside the patio, which is a huge bonus for families. Service was excellent--friendly, fast, and attentive. We come down this way several times a week but we don't often eat anywhere down here. I did come into this location before it became Bunz N Chix but the menu didn't really make me want to get anything or go out of my way. Today I decided to check out the new place. It is clean and nicely set up. I like that it is family friendly. You have the bar, which is great but it isn't like a dive or some place you don't want to bring the kids. I also like that they have an outdoor patio, so this means they are dog-friendly as well. I was starving so I decided to have their fried pickles and a soda. The fried pickles were good. For me, while it is hard to go wrong with them, sometimes they are very greasy. Not so here, which I greatly appreciated. Especially since that grease often also colors the flavor. It is not expensive and is a good size serving. Their batter is more crunchy, less flaky, which I also liked. They also use the thicker pickles that have a bite. Will definitely get them again. I also got to meet the proprietor, Big Frank. Very nice guy. He is also the chef. I have talked to a lot of owners when going around and not all of them will give you the time of day. You don't see service like that very often anymore. My mother ordered a burger and said it was juicy and delicious. I got the Cajun wings, and the wings themselves were tasty. However, I'd suggest they add spice levels to the menu. I usually enjoy Cajun wings, but the seasoning was so spicy it brought tears to my eyes, and I'm not someone who typically handles that level of heat well. That's my only critique, I'd recommend they include little flame icons to indicate the heat level. That said, if you love really spicy food, the Cajun wings are definitely worth trying. Me and my siblings tried this place today. We're kyle natives and this place always has a different wing business. Not sure if it's the same owners, but we had yet to come here. Service was great, there was one server on and she was pretty busy, but still seemed to be very efficient while still providing refills, and checking up on us the perfect amount. The male cook seemed to give her a bit of an attitude for not food running fast enough to his liking, which rubbed me the wrong way, especially because she was preoccupied putting in orders; but she was great. I wish i remembered her name because she deserves her flowers. However, the food was not great. We got started with the fries and cheese curds, and they seemed fresh off the Sysco truck. The ranch also tasted pretty mediocre, which is important for a wing place. The wings were overcooked and dry, and the meat had an odd flavor. We ordered 20 total, we tried the Cajun, hot honey, and hot lemon. All the flavors were good, but once you got past the skin, it was a funky taste and was super dry. The place was nice and clean, but the service definitely was the only thing that I enjoyed here. Prices were fair, sweet tea was good; but unfortunately cannot see myself coming back.
