As far as fast food cheeseburgers and chicken burgers go, this is one of my favorite stops. Their burgers and fries are filling, and the prices are still quite affordable. I always enjoy my grilled chicken burger with the melty cheese. I also respect restaurants that are transparent, and when we received our food, we also received a note indicating that they increased their prices by 2.8%. I have wanted to try this place for a while since moving to Texas. I decided to stop at the new location in Kyle. It was clean, bright, and friendly. I did have to wait a little longer than usual because the cashier was helping what seemed to be a young lady and her mother with an application, which was fine. I wish the others standing near could have been able to take my order or at least acknowledge me. The food was similar to In-n-Out and made to order--nothing spectacular about this place. What is the niche here? I do not see myself making this chain a regular with many other chains and burger places to eat that provide unique experiences. The person who took our order today kept cutting me off and I kept repeating "grilled chicken sandwich with lettuce wrap no bun" ... then he kept asking me do you want the toppings... "yes, I would like all the toppings, just no bun". How can you justify spending $9.35 on a combo when you receive this. I had to make my own soda at home because, although I asked for very light ice to almost no ice... I got ice with a side of soda... This was an awful experience. I'll be throwing this sandwich out and making my own since the lettuce is old and spotted and the sandwich just looks un-appetizing. ‍ update! I gave it to my dog. He liked it. I'd never even seen a P. Terry's before this one. I'm in town here in Kyle building a building and my wife came to visit. Evidently she loves P Terry's and we stopped by to get dinner. This little place is so cool! Definitely catching a 50s diner vibe and honestly prices I haven't seen in years. You can get a really good burger, amazing fries, and they even had a Nutella milkshake, all for like 12 bucks! The staff was great. This is a nice, new clean establishment. The thing they really got going for them is cleanliness and fresh farm beef patties, Idaho fresh cut potatoes and sides. The front cashier was friendly, and kindly gave me lemonade, didn't charge me but I asked for it up front. The place is so new, they haven't even installed the landscaping until today! The downsides are the portions are tiny and high in calories. Me and my wife ordered 2 cheeseburgers, 2 fries and 2 drinks for around $15. Not bad, considering the prices these days. Usually I pontificate about places as I go as I'm a writer and doing so lets me get creative and explore metaphors to equate food to. That said, lets be real, this is fast food so how much can I really elaborate before the average reader gets bored? Right... so already being wordy, lets get on with the review. I moved here in June 2022 and had no idea what P-Terry's was and honestly was scared to try it. Most of the people I've talked to say something like "it's an ok burger joint". Well let me give it a whirl and perhaps it's a hidden Texas gem. The facility in Kyle has been open roughly two weeks, so enough time for them to get their feet under them. Situated in front of EVO the place is brand spanking new and still has the new car smell about it although the landscaping is a work in progress. I have nothing to review about inside as I went through the drive thru but from what I gleaned through the windows, it's new...... I pulled up to the order billboard (being the only one in line) and clearly said "number 2 combo with 7up and a grilled chicken sandwich." Sir you wanted a hamburger, would you like a combo? Oh geez this banter went back and fourth as I found it irritating. I get up to the check out and they repeated the correct order. Good, they know what I wanted. The young man at the counter was kind and fast with a nice touch of courtesy. On my way home the fries were scalding hot which meant they were just fried. Perfect! I also like the thinner cut that all the other national chains. Closer to shoestring than I anticipated. I went for a swig on my cold and refreshing 7up which was literally 90% ice. I'm not engaging in hyperbole but I literally had 3 large sips of the beverage (a medium btw) before only ice remains. Sheesh. I get home and low and behold I got the wrong bag. I was literally the only one in the drive thru so I had two hamburger combos (I wanted the CHEESEBURGER & CHICKEN). Long story short even as the only one in the drive thru I got the wrong order. The hamburger was good but nothing mindblowing. The lettuce and tomato were crisp and a good amount of condiments adorned the sandwich. While eating it I couldn't help but thinking its size was between a White Castle burger and the other burgers you can get anywhere else. In summary the service was horrible but perhaps the staff is still learning, I'm not sure. Every time I come to this location, it's typically in the morning, the morning shift people are in such a bad mood. It's the top of the morning, people are just starting their shift and I understand that things happen and people have bad days but EVERY time I come here an employee named Melissa rolls her eyes when I ask for the side of special sauce or salsa, just handing her my card to check out annoyed her. It also takes 13-15 minutes to bring me my order. it's a very unpleasant, awkward encounter. Just the service alone left a bad taste in my mouth.
