My boyfriend and I went to Buddy's Burgers in San Marcos today, and it was such a good meal! We shared a burger, fries, & shake. The burger was packed with flavor, the fries were perfectly crispy, and you absolutely cannot leave without trying their yummy Key Lime Pie shake (on the menu until end of July). The whole restaurant was super clean, and the workers were incredibly nice and welcoming from the moment we walked in. read more

Today we stopped by Buddy's Burgers after kayaking the San Marcos River and we were definitely ready for some real food. I ordered the bacon burger, seasoned fries, and a strawberry lemonade. The burger was juicy, well seasoned, and really good. The fries came out hot and crispy, with just just. Enough Cajun seasoning. The strawberry lemonade was sweet and tangy and comes with free refills. You can also choose strawberry, mango, or classic lemonade. The building is pretty big with family-style tables. We had a group of eight and were able to sit together by adding a chair at each end of the table. (All of my friends have "restaurant names" which I have never heard of.) After you place your order they call your name when the food is ready, and they may even bring it to your table. The staff were friendly and helpful. I liked it so much the last time I came here that I ended up trying their Austin location later. If you're in the area after the river or just craving a good burger, this is a solid spot to try. read more

This place was amazing... we came to shop and grabbed a burger for the way home. I had the spicy single and it was outstanding... Will eat here again read more

Great customer service, in our case in particular Ja'Nauia D. She was very nice and helped us with our first time selection. The place was clean. The team worked well together. The burger was very good. Maybe a little too much of the Buddy sauce but that can be overcome by just mentioning it to them at order. The fries were tasty with the special sauce. I would recommend it. read more

We stopped in on a recent road trip and are happy we did. The place has several tables inside which we took advantage of to get out of the car for a bit. The menu is simple, but we enjoyed our burgers. We tried the regular and the seasoned fries as well as a chocolate shake. The burgers were great and the fries were tasty. We preferred the seasoned fries. An employee came over to check on us after we got our food, which I thought was a nice touch. Definitely would try this again in the future. read more

Original smash burger was pretty tasty and really enjoyed it. Their sauce seemed familiar but couldn't pinpoint where the similarity stemmed from. While Ienjoyed the burger and it was yum, the buns seemed cold which was odd and a striking contrast to the hot patty. The fries were good and well seasoned but the only issue I had was that a few of the fries at the bottom were still frozen, like these were at the top when they were frying them and didn't get fried all the way . Definitely want to try them again as the experience wasn't that bad and I i did enjoy their burger and fries. read more

Solid burger choice. Their limited menu helps to focus all their attention on the burgers and fries. While their single is filling, go all out and get the double. The spicy option has a lot of flavor and not too much kick. Try the limited time Nutella shake, you won't regret it. read more

Casual place for some yummy burgers and shakes! I get the spicy burger with season fries. That's my go to. The fries are super crispy which I love. Burger is very flavorful. Solid place for quick lunch or dinner. They also have some limited items time to time like today they had biscoff shake and special burger. Taking a star off because the restrooms were in bad shape and poorly kept but it was also a busy friday night. read more

Just passing thru on a 2 day girls trip and the service/food was so good we had it last night for dinner and are back today for lunch! The menu is straight forward and allows them to focus on everything being HOT, fresh, and made exactly how you ordered! Highly recommend! 10 out of 10 for real. Seriously wish they had a location in the BCS area we would be frequently returning if we lived closer! Dining area was very clean, open, and comfortable for groups or families etc. read more

Overall 4.5 rating. Stopped in here for the first one, Sunday, for lunch. I immediately noticed the Double Spicy burger in the menu. Anything with jalapenos will grab my attention quickly lol. The beef was super tender and seasoned well. The melted cheese and jalapeños was such a great mesh, so almost ordered a 2nd one to go. They had plenty of searing and baby high chairs to use. My 1 year old was super excited to eat his regular side of fries. The staff were friendly and came to the table several times to check if I needed anything. It was a pleasant atmosphere and not like your typical fast food place that feels rushed and crowded. I enjoyed my time here and will return again. read more

Right off of I-35 heading toward Lockhart, I stopped in with my kids. We weren't terribly hungry, but I really wanted a taste. It's a very simple menu - single or double, regular or spicy...and beer on tap. Almost all the tables are Biergarten style so if they're busy, be ready to share a table. The burgers tasted good. They didn't blow my mind, but they weren't skimping on meat and the fries were seasoned a bit strong maybe; next time I'll temper the seasoning with some ketchup. We had milkshakes to go. Again, good, but not mind blowing. I thought the prices were reasonable for the amount and quality of the food. I hope they fix the men's restroom; the urinal was out of service. All in all, I hope they expand down to San Antonio so I can go more often. read more

This used to be our favorite hamburger joint in San Marcos. Came here to eat, my 8 year old son needed to use the restroom, the bathroom door has a key code lock. I stepped out and asked which clearly was an upper management said the code is on my receipt, I explained my son needs to use the restroom we have not ordered yet. He questioned me loudly If we had intentions of placing an order, I answered yes and felt embarrassed to have to explain myself in a public establishment to use the restroom and assure the manager I was a paying customer.owner should reevaluate their management. read more

Wanting a smash burger without driving to East Austin & breaking the bank (slight exaggeration, but $16 for a burger without fries is a splurge in this economy). Drive a little further, where you'll find Buddy's, a hidden gem in outside of Austin that demands to be discovered! There are four straightforward options for burgers at Buddy's--do you want your burger mild or spicy, and do you want one paddy or two? Personally, I swear by the #2--The Spicy Burger (single paddy). For spice lovers, this is actually far from spicy, but packed with flavor. The Spicy Burger comes with pepper jack cheese, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions, jalapeños, and Buddy's signature spicy smack sauce. I absolutely love how the grilled, minced onions & jalapeños are married together and are melted in with the sauce and cheese. Every bite bursts with vibrant flavor. And the best part? All this deliciousness comes at less than $5! To make it a meal, only $15, WHAT A STEAL. TLDR; Buddy's not only a culinary delight but also a budget-friendly option that doesn't compromise on quality. 5/5 make the drive, you'll thank me later. LOCATION: I personally enjoy the San Marcos better, as it's a stand alone location with ample parking, more spacing, quieter, and cleaner! read more

I found a new favorite! My family and I decided to come here to try their burgers. When I walked in, it kind of gave me the vibes of another burger joint that is named after "guys". I love how they have large tables big enough for families of 6+. The music they were playing was phenomenal. Definitely my type of vibes, they were playing old school R&B. It was easy to order and my food came out piping, hot and fresh. The burger was delicious and the fries were perfect! I got my fries without seasoning, but I tasted a seasoned fry and it tasted pretty good as well. I also ordered the Oreo shake. All I can say is Yum! The plain vanilla shake is also amazing. It has a hint of Cinnamon to it. That stood out to me. Don't get me wrong, the Oreo shake was good, but I think I prefer the plain vanilla one just because you can savor the flavors better. All of the employees there were so nice and greeted us as we walked in the door and when we left. The manager even came around to the tables asking if we needed anything and asked us how the food was. 10 out of 10 definitely recommend and we will be frequently this place more often than not. read more

This place is so good! My husband and I saw Buddy's while driving to the Tanger Outlets, and we knew we wanted to stop by on the way back home. We're so glad we did, Everything we ordered was so fresh and made to order - the burgers were juicy and flavorful and the seasoned fries were nice and crispy! My daughters also loved the milkshakes- although the Oreo shake had more of a speculoos/biscoff cookie flavor than the original Oreo flavor...(definitely has a spice/cinnamon taste) We definitely want to come back! read more
