I love that their food is Guatemalan and that they pride themselves and have it written on the walls. The rice and beans were delicious very tasty. The guy Rogelio was nice and the older kitchen lady was also very nice and kind. They had great customer service Rogelio asked us if we needed anything when they brought the food and the lady brought us out the food as well. They are delicious and sometimes have the grilled chicken available, but it's not always guaranteed. It is likely that they've run out of the popular sides like Mac and cheese by around 7 pm. All in all - it's good, but the item availability and their unusual horchata (it tasted like peanuts) will keep us putting this lower on our list of go-to's when we are in town. read more

The drive to Kyle is worth it!! Pollo campero is comfort food for us and it never disappoints. The chicken is seasoned to perfection and crispy. It was my first time trying this Guatemalan chain restaurant, which (dare I say) is better than Chick-fil-A! They offer chicken sandwiches with choice of side dishes. I got spicy chicken with plantains and yuca fries. The sauce tastes so similar to Chick-fil-A sauce. The staff is so friendly-they were able to answer our questions on the food. In addition to typical soda, they also offer mango, hibiscus, and horchata drinks. The food is like fast food but the inside of the restaurant is so clean and you don't have to clean up yourself! Let me start off by saying I really wanted this place to be successful because I know how good they can be. I've had the chance to first try it in Guatemala when we were on vacation visiting my hubby's family and everything was sooo good. The plantains were my favorite and the chicken excellent. We came the first time to this location when they had the grand opening. They had a wheel you can spin for prizes and they were giving out samples of their drinks like horchata. We knew we would be waiting a while. There was ALOT of people. The staff was keeping up and they were serving with smiles. The chicken and rolls are good. We tried to have a little bit of everything but those two were my focus. We were excited to try this new place in Kyle. We waited a while to give them a chance to work out the bugs ... Well, gotta say, pretty disappointed. First we had to wait more than 20 minutes for our food. The grilled chicken was extremely dry. The beans taste like ranch style beans. And they no longer have mashed potatoes ... after they just started here!! The mac n cheese was okay, but a little clumpy. The fried chicken wasn't bad and the rolls were really good. When I approached the attendant on the window she said they did not have mixed, that only one breast was available, I told her I'll take one breast and the rest dark. She proceeded to talk to the manager and after a minute or 2 she came back and said yes we now have mixed. She told to pull over to wait. He thought he found his local fix, however he was mistaken. The drive through was empty so I checked the reviews. They were bad but Hubby still wanted to give it a try. We bought a 4 piece mix, fried and baked (that's what I call it) with coleslaw and rice. The chicken was dry. The fried chicken had a seasoning on it that I found overwhelming. I almost got out of the line but couldn't. The line eventually moved and it wasn't too long after that when I reached the window. I ordered the Campero chicken bowl. It was ok. Not horrible but nothing to bring me back. The portion of chicken was generous. I definitely couldn't finish the bowl. It could use more cheese and some sauce. Pinto beans are typically a bit mushy, so it was a little odd in a bowl. The "avocado" was definitely a mix of other ingredients. Tasted fine, though. I read reviews while waiting in line. It is fairly new, so it might take some time for staff to get adjusted and trained. I also read their fried chicken is really good. If it's like the chicken in the bowl I can see why. This chicken patty was well seasoned and crispy. A little confused and disappointed that the chicken patty "contains pork" but it is clearly stated on the menu. The young lady at the window was ok. The fried chicken, it's so good, very different from other chains and it doesn't disappoint

Obligatory one star for being a place that exists. I really wanted to try this place after hearing good reviews from friends outside of Texas. After looking forward to it for several months, finally decided to come in. The drive-thru was busy, the dining room somewhat busy. The tables were not being bussed so while only a few of the tables were occupied, the majority that were not occupied were not picked up. Bathrooms were also pretty dirty. Maybe they're understaffed. Before I continue, I just want to stress that the people who work here are extremely friendly and polite. Customer service from a soft skills perspective is not an issue. Easy order for 5: 2x orders of nuggets 1x 1 piece fried order 1x 2 piece fried order 1x 2 piece grilled order Upon ordering, cashier noted it would be about 20 minutes to get chicken. Cook in the kitchen corrected her that it would be a lot faster. Either way, we were ok. 30 minutes later, no sign of food. "It's coming up!". 10 minutes pass and the people handing out food assure us it's coming - as they serve people who arrived after us. 45 minutes in, I request a refund. Had I known it would take this long, I would not have waited. As I'm requesting refund, a cook assures me we're next as she only needs to make our nuggets. No thanks, refund please. 15 minute refund process later walk out not having tasted the food at all. Not even during the time of processing the refund did the food finish being prepared. I'm not sure what the deal was, but clear communication and being forthcoming about the wait would have been enough for us to stay and wait. Judging the by larger orders that arrived after us and got their food way before us, it seems as if they cleared our order before I inquired about it the first time then put us back (in the back) of the queue. Hats off for being polite during the ordeal though not 100% forthcoming about it. After processing the refund, the manager revealed that 2 of their fryers are down which is why people were experiencing 20 minute waits. No answer as to why we had waited 45+ minutes. Can't tell you how the food is, but after wasting more than an hour here for nothing, I'm in no rush to make my way back. Kyle is booming right now and there are several options in this area. All of them are just as new, all of them are cleaner. None of them are worth the wait we experience at this fast-food establishment. read more

After a trip to Costco the family and I decided to grab a late lunch and there wasn't a big line so it was the perfect time. We went inside but we ordered to go. We got the 8 piece dinner (enough for 4) and split the chicken half fried and half grilled. It was off peak time (2:30p) but the restaurant was pretty full. We were 3rd in line to order. Waited about 10 minutes for our order. The chicken was really good. Juicy and flavorful. The grilled had a nice lemon-peppery zing. The fried had a good crispy skin. Yuca fries are stout and filling. For those with allergies please beware!! Their HORCHATA has PEANUTS !! Their website says tree nuts and milk But Not all Horchatas are the same as most people know Horchatas from Mexico is made of (rice milk and sugar and cinnamon). This is a Central American chain and the horchata is different. Unfortunately my little nephew had an allergic reaction to taking a few sips of his horchata drink.he is ONLY allergic to peanuts . Wanted to try this place out as it's new to the area. Placed an online order on a Monday evening for ASAP. Pick up and it was a 50 minute wait! Ok, fine, no big deal. For us to pick it up it's about a 30 minute round-trip. We arrive timely and the order is there in a sealed paper bag. We should've checked it before we left the parking lot, however, we did not open the bag until we got home and discovered we were missing a third of the items! The label on the bag was marked correctly, so we assumed everything was in the bag. When we called to let them know of their mistake, it took them ages to find the order and they're only solution was for us to come back and get the food. They would not offer any partial refund for the missing items. So we had to drive 30 minutes to get our missing items and eat all the food cold and late. It was the principle at this point. On top of that, the food was cold (from the start) and the chicken was dry. We ordered a family meal with half grilled and half fried chicken with rice, beans and yucca fries. I am not a fan of fast food and usually don't eat it but my kids do. However i will get chicken from time to time. i came across this place on Grubhub when i searched chicken. For all years driving by i always thought it was Mexican food and i will NEVER eat Mexican fast food thanks to shittobell. My sons exact words were "the seasoned it correctly unlike most chicks places that don't season their chicken well" i happened to agree with him. I've order a family meal which should be easy to prepare. We waited and waited an hour went by and no meal. I spoke to the cashier and asked her why its was taking so long.
