Came in with a few coworkers cause I had never been. Some one told me it was like wingstop and they didn't lie the tenders were anorexic! Thinnest tenders I've ever had. Flavor was ok but nothing special. Now I know why this chain didn't last in south Texas. Orders a slims 5 piece tender meal and mushrooms with an order of fries. Cost me $19.45 holly molly! Best part of my visit was Mona she was very nice and sweet and had a great attitude! Tender 2 outa 10 Fried mushrooms 2 outa 10 Fried 5 ouat 10 they were normal Tea 5 outa 10 Location 6 ouat 10 Mona 10 outa 10 saw here working her but off bussing tables and very attentive Mona was an outstanding employee!

I love Slim's enough to try it anywhere . But does it tastes the same everywhere so that I can happily get it anywhere? I used to eat Slim's often when I lived in Louisiana. I was excited to see one in Kyle . The staff was sweet and they have kiosks where you put your order in yourself. I ordered the 4 piece tender meal and fried mushrooms. I got Slim's sauce with my meal. This was my first time using a whole container of sauce while eating Slim's tenders. I wanted plain wings, but after finding out they were plain fried wings, I changed my mind. Tenders: I'm used to slims tenders being seasoned so well until I didn't need sauce. I actually needed sauce. Please season them a little more, Slim's in other states in seasoned WELL. Fried mushrooms: seasoned to perfection. I just wish they were fried a little harder. I will definitely order again Overall my experience was fine

My first time at Slim Chickens! The girl at the drive thru taking the order was really sweet. She was welcoming and thorough in making sure I understood their offerings. It was obvious she's new, but it was nice to have a good start. The girl at the window was less friendly though and just kind of shoved my order at me. The restaurant is new, and it shows, clean and crisp looking as you'd expect. Now the food. I'm not usually a chicken tenders person so I don't have a brand preference. The tenders are juicy and tender chicken. I did expect more flavor but nada. The chicken is good chicken but it needs more flavor. The toast was great, but I'm a sucker for Texas toast lol. The fries were good. Crispy and not even soggy when I got home. The sauces are the bright supporter for the chicken. The ranch is thin and not quit a dip consistency but it's really good. The Korean BBQ was good, but I wish it was spicier. The slim sauce was good, like canes sauce. All complimented the chicken well. Next time I'll try different ones. The Mac and cheese was a must try since they have whole tender bowls. I got a side to test it out. It's good, but not seller. The bowl wasn't quite full which is a little annoying for the price. Note: I think this is the same size sold in the kids meal, so it's not a big meal for a bigger kiddo. Overall, I liked the food and I'll go back and try a sandwich next time or something else. It's comparably priced to other chicken spots so worth a try if you want something new!

After the gym we passed Slim Chickens. After reading about it online and how it's coming to Kyle we decided to try it out. It could be our post workout meal. ;) There was no one in the drive thru at 9am when we drove up which was nice. I was surprised they were open so early for a chicken place but they did have a chicken and waffle option so you could get that for breakfast. I decided to get a 3 piece tender, just the tenders. Just wanted to try it and have some protein after my workout. My husband got a bigger meal which was fries, chicken and toast. Both of ours came with a sauce of our choice which we chose Slim Sauce, their signature sauce. After my first few bites I noticed it wasn't anything special. It was warm and meaty which I appreciated but thought it would have a little more of a signature taste that made it stand out from other chicken restaurants. But I didn't really get the uniqueness I was looking for. It wasn't anything that would cause me to come back or place this as a top chicken joint. Again, it was cooked well and wasn't a bad meal it just wasn't anything eventful or stand out. Glad we could at least try a new place!

I'm not too sure about this place. I've eaten here twice-to go and eat in. Both times I got wings, once with fries and once with mushrooms. The fries-no thanks. The mushrooms were pretty good. I didn't like their wings but can't put my finger on why. Next time, I'll try something different. One more shot before I'll mark it off my list.

4 out of 5 on a fast food scale!!! If you like Zaxbys or Canes, you'll love Slim Chickens. THEY SEASON THE CHICKEN! They give you a wide variety of sauces and they have a couple of dry rubs that are available. They do cost more than Canes and Zaxbys but for juicy, seasoned chicken, it's worth it. I did not go inside so I don't know what the interior looks like but the service was friendly and everything came out fresh. Check them out!!

Slim Chickens in Kyle delivers fresh, crispy chicken with great flavor and an impressive variety of sauces. The tenders are juicy, the sides are solid (especially the mac & cheese), and service is consistently friendly. Prices are a bit higher than typical fast food, but the quality makes it worth it. A great spot for quick, tasty comfort food. 4.5/5

We immediately ordered the Braised Short ribs as the menu said it took longer for this entree. So we ordered the Lobster Bisque. As soon as the bisque was brought to the table we were informed the short ribs were already ready. Since we just got the bisque we said hold the ribs until we eat the bisque. The bisque was tasty but it seems the recipe was different than I had had it a few years ago. Seems it was less tomato based than before but no complaints. When we go the entree it was good but you could tell with the ribs that sitting under the heat lamp while we ate the bisque had dried out the ribs just a bit. However, they were good and the sides were great. I'm really liked the spicy roasted Brussels Sprouts and the mash potatoes were very good as well. Had we known the ribs would have been ready so quickly we wouldn't have ordered the bisque - it just kind of threw off the timing of the dishes Enjoyed everything and we will be back!

Chicken with dumplings, the menu special for the night, was presented as a bowl of gloppy-glue with stuff in it. Waitress was accommodating friendly, and without attitude. The replacement to gloppy -glue was gumbo with someone's hair on the edge of the dish. A Chicken/BLT sandwich is something one has to try hard to screw up. And try-hard they must have. I skipped the onions and avocado, asking for lettuce and tomato only with mayonnaise on the side. The sandwich was served on toasted Thick Bread, a soggy, "Fryer-fat" non-crispy half breast of dry chicken, with limp bacon, wet lettuce, and tomato slices all on Dry Texas Toast. Shrimp Macaroni and cheese was lacking the creamy goodness of Mac and Cheese while the Shrimp were cooked with Cajun spice. This dish was no different than the rest. In conclusion I think Brooklyn's Down South suffers from Poorly executed food coming from an under-trained kitchen staff. Third time is the last time.

Everything was pretty delicious and the presentation was beautiful. The Catfish Beignets were perfectly crispy with a hint of sweetness, but nothing super special about them, just tasted like fried catfish to me. The Diablo Chicken Pasta was nice and saucy, but like the catfish beignets, was a bit bland so I needed some salt to up the flavors. The shrimp ceviche was very refreshing, delicious, and a solid appetizer that was packed with flavor. The Chicken Waffles was good as well. The chorizo gravy sauce that came with it, was different, but complimented the whole dish very well. Overall, the portion was a bit smaller than I'd like for the price that I paid, but the food was overall pretty delicious. Our server Michael was fantastic. Super fast, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. A full bar, but didn't have Pina Coladas. Lots of tables and chairs to dine at. Clean restrooms and lots of parking. Also, the shrimp tostada bites were killer - I could eat those all day. My wife's carajillo was perfect. OK: catfish beignets-the batter was well seasoned and crunchy, but it seemed like the actual fish needed seasoning as it was pretty bland. Grilled chicken sandwich was pretty bland too: the chicken was slightly dry and aside from the avocado, onion and tomato, there was not much flavor. Checked the buns to see if they were spread with an aoli but no, pretty dry. I thought Z Tejas was ok then and it's still ok and wouldn't be my first choice unless it's for happy hour where they have the shrimp tostadas on special.

After seeing Lil' Easy's extensive Frozens list, we had to taste test. My friends ordered the Cowboy Coffee and Celestial Sunrise, and I tried the Saturn frozen. We were surprised at the complex flavor of the frozens, and enjoyed all three. To eat, we started with the boudin balls which will now be a mandatory order for all future visits -- crunchy on the outside and perfectly soft on the inside, served with creamy creole mustard aioli. My friends loved the cajun meat pie and fried butterflied gulf shrimp. I enjoyed my order of the gumbo, and snagged one of my friend's hushpuppies, which was perfectly done -- not dry! We ended with an order of the rum cake with vanilla ice cream, which was deliciously decadent. Counting down the days until our next visit at this fun spot. The only negative was the bathroom line -- there are only a few individual bathrooms, so be prepared to wait. Our server also let us know that they are having crawfish boils every weekend in Spring for everyone looking to get their crawfish fix!

She gave us menus and took our drink order. When she brought us our waters she took our order. To start we shared some onion rings and nachos. The onion rings were delicious. The interior onion was sweet and the exterior batter was crispy. The nachos were tasty. The chips were thick and able to hold all of the ingredients and the chicken tinga was flavorful. For our main meal my son ordered the pepperoni pizza and loved it. My husband ordered the Fried Catfish Lunch. He enjoyed it and said the catfish was soft with a crispy, and light breaded exterior. He said that the hush puppies and fries were fine. I ordered the Meat Pizza which comes with Pepperoni, Ham, Bacon, and Sausage. The pizza was yummy. I could definitely taste the pepperoni and sausage flavor and the ham was spread out in large chunks. The crust was light and airy. Overall Hays City Store was a great place to visit for lunch.
