I'm sure this 4 stars is of my own design, but I DID toss out a lot of food, so here we are. I ordered some garlic parm wings and stupidly garlic parm tots. I didn't realize that I was basically ordering fried chicken and tots with garlic parm sprinkles. The first wing was awesome but the flavor and the "fried-ness" got overwhelming really quickly. I guess if I had ordered in person instead of through the app, the lovely guy in the trailer could have been like, yo, that's too much of the same flavor, you gotta mix it up. But alas, I chose for my self and I got what I got. Everything was delicious. I wish I would have gotten wet wings. And I wish they weren't breaded. But oh well. Very crispy, and the lollipop DOES make them easier to eat.

It'd been years since I last went to Tommy Want Wingy, back when they were located on Rainy Street. A trip back with a new mural of my all time favorite comedian had me saying Holy Schnikies in no time. Atmosphere: Food truck style next to a bar, common sight here in Austin but a great way to enjoy a food and drink. Food: Lollipop style chicken wings. Essentially where the chicken is filleted creating a lollipop appearance. Appearances aside all the flavors here are delicious. I got the garlic parm and one of the original spices. All were breaded perfectly and fried to a nice crisp. They maybe a bit on the pricier side, but the quality of the wings easily justifies. Two servings will most probably fill most people. Service: Very friendly service, and of course the staff will geek with you on any Chris Farley movie, because hey that's why we're here right? Overall, I'd recommend easily if you're in the area. Especially for lollipop style wings.

Best wings in Austin! Ranch on fire are my favorite also ranch on fire tots with some ranch! Order online, pretty quick wait time. I went on the Wednesday.

Elite chicken wing execution. Cool, chill service. Got 10 wings to go--pleasantly blown away by the flavor, texture and meatiness. Will return.

Really wanted to love these wings, but they were really average. They were dry and the lemon pepper didn't have much flavor. The garlic tenders were so heavily breaded and dry. The garlic parm fries were really good though! The sweet chili wings were better because the sauce helped with the dryness of the wings. Would not come back here, especially for the high price.

Honestly pretty expensive at $12 for 5 wings, but the texture and flavor of the chicken lollipops was great. It has the meatiness of flats but the ease of easy of a drumstick. Got the OG flavor, which was my favorite, Chile Limon, and Spicy Pineapple.

I have nothing really to say except that I LOVE TWW! I literally only go to Rainey Street now if I know I'm going to get to eat here. Best time to go when they open for the day or during lunch! I also like the Cosmic location when I just want a chill vibe. I don't do super spicy, but here I tolerate it just for the ranch on fire wings! And you have to get the garlic parm fries and lots of sides of their ranch (cause bring down the heat without taking away the taste you really want!) with every order!

Great place for wings! Highly recommend to try their wings. They are more on the pricey side in my opinion. The service was good, did take 15 min for our wings to come out. We ordered the buffalo hot flavor. The overall taste was great and had a kick to them! Wish the wings were a little more a crispy. The other flavor we got was chile limon. I wouldn't get these again please the flavor wasn't as strong. Overall solid place for wings but pricey in my opinion

I went to get a cocktail at Cosmic coffee and found Tommy Want Wingy food truck. . These wings are delicious!!! I got the sweet chili and lemon pepper. Both were delicious and tasty. They look attractive since they make them into a lollipop style, something I hadn't seen. They were quite busy so it took about 20 min to get the food. You order and pay through your phone. This area has plenty of picnic tables. Some shaded and some in the sun. Dog friendly too

Ok so is this place 21 and up? I went there once and my friend and I walked in normally and as we were eating there was a guy who was carding people at the door, so I was like crap we are in here illegally.

It's inside of Lustre Pearl, which is a bar, so you need to be 21 to get in.

How do they make their chicken that tender and juicy?? Also, why are the potato salad and mac n cheese the best I've ever had?? Our total came out to be ~$26, without tip. 5/5 Overall, great service, great food, and great experience! Parking is a bit hard since it's in downtown, but there is a parking garage across from the restaurant and it's only $5 for 0-2 hours, which I think is the best you can find. We also came on a Saturday around 2:30 pm. We got our food pretty quick so you can really just eat for 30 minutes and walk around downtown for a good 1.5 hours before coming back and leaving. We will definitely be back!

So I took some of the criticism (sides suck EXCEPT for collard greens and okra) into consideration for my order. I arrived at opening, and the restaurant already had a few customers. I got the 3-piece dark meat meal (15.25), and a refillable drink ($3 but you can keep the cup). My meal was ready in under 10 minutes, and could see that everything was freshly made. The hue on the chicken was beautiful --- it's not just a crust, that's some batter on Gus's chicken! The okra and the collards passed the test (DELICIOUS), and I was hoping for the chicken to be as "world famous" as I've heard. THE CHICKEN DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The crunch was undeniable, the slight heat from the marinade was present, and overall flavor was simply...pleasurable. My rule for chicken? Always get the dark meat. I took my souvenir cup with me, but I can finally say I tried Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken --- and it is world famous for good reason!

The skin was incredibly crispy (just how I like it!) and the soy garlic sauce had a great balance of sweet and savory flavor without being overpowering. They definitely didn't skimp on the size either--5 wings was more than enough! I skipped the sides this time because I wanted to focus on the wings, but their onion rings caught my eye, so I'll definitely be back to give those a try. Now...the only downside was the parking. It looked like the front parking lot had been freshly painted because every parking space was blocked off with cones. Everything appeared dry, so I wasn't sure why the cones were still there. That forced everyone to park in the back, which was already super congested. I mentioned it to the staff, but they didn't seem too concerned. Honestly, if I hadn't been determined to try this place--or if it had been any hotter outside or I hadn't gotten lucky finding a parking spot--I probably would've left. Thankfully, the wings made up for the inconvenience! If they can get the parking situation figured out, this spot will be an even better experience. I'll definitely be back...and next time, those onion rings are coming home with me!

I got the 10-pc jumbo wings, which allowed me to try 2 flavors. For one of the flavors I got Holy Donkey but I don't feel like the heat was really there. But still overall, tasty chicken! I got some sides to go and they were perfectly fried though I'm a bit sad to see a small side of pickled radish just doesn't come with Korean fried chicken (though you can purchase some but I had already bought 2 sides and didn't want to spend $5 for radish). Spicy Boys has four locations in the Austin area, with probably their most popular at Zilker Brewing. They are a spicy chicken establishment and their spicy chicken comes in different shapes and sizes from bone-in fried chicken, chicken sandwiches, and nuggets. I have only ever ordered their fried chicken sandwich and every time, I have been a fan. I always get their middle option in heat, the Hot Gai, which is sandwiched between the OG and the Tingly Gai. It hits every time. The mayonnaise, the pickles, the perfectly crisp chicken: you can't miss it. As a side, I ALWAYS without fail get their Tater Tots. They are consistently crispy while remaining soft on the inside. Sometimes I will get it seasoned with their Tingly Sichuan, but the heat is sometimes too much. I cannot recommend the tots enough. Spicy Boys is one of those places that is always there for you. They are consistently open and the people making the orders are putting a ton of dedication into making them smack every time. The sandwich alone comes at $9.50 with the tots at $3.50, which seems on par or slightly lower than a typical food truck if my memory serves me right. I recommend giving them a shot whether you are at Spokesman in Pflugerville, St. Elmo Brewing, or Zilker off 6th Street. It's in the upper echelon of food trucks. RIYL: peak chicken sammys
