Such a tiny but mighty restaurant! Feels very comfortable walking in. Everyone is very welcoming. Salsa is yummy ! Enchiladas had a lot of flavor. I'm picky when it comes to enchiladas and these were PERFECT. Temperature of the food was excellent. Lots to choose from ! If you're looking for a good home cooked meal this is definitely the spot.

Every time I'm back in town, stopping here is a must. Unfortunately while their business hours online seem regular, half of the time I've come by they've been closed. No biggie because they are a small family restaurant, but be warned before you get too invested. However, I've found that you can always rely on them being open on a Saturday afternoon. The first time I came, I remember leaving extremely satisfied with the quality and flavor of their carne guisada. I have since had it in taco form twice more, with the second time being alright and the third time being a little disappointing. The meat was tough, so while I still have a positive opinion of the carne guisada on a good day whether it'll be a good day seems to come down to a roll of the dice. One thing I can't recommend enough is the barbacoa, I've ordered it every time and it is absolutely delicious. Good flavor, moist and tender, I like to eat it in a corn tortilla with chile verde and chile de arbol salsas on top. Something that is out of the ordinary about this spot is the fact that the tacos don't come with lime. I always notice after I've already finished eating, so I'll have to remember to ask next time. Other than that, the tortilla chips that come complementary are next level. There's a certain freshly fried sense to them, with good crunch and solid corn flavor. Apparently some customers like to just order the chips to go, so definitely don't plan on skipping this appetizer!

These breakfast tacos are amazing! I tried the bacon agh and cheese and a bean and cheese. All of them were very tasty and covered with lots of yellow American cheese. The line was all the way into the street so you can tell this place must be popular. Luckily they had someone outside taking our orders to help expedite the time.

Someone made a comment about this being the best tacos in Kyle and I absolutely agree! I would definitely recommend going early because the line is long. I went around 11am and there was about 6 cars in line at the drive thru. They had a lady come outside to help take orders to move the line faster. Everything is fresh and made to order! The chorizo and egg was delicious! Tasted very authentic. The bacon, egg, potato, and cheese was good, but I probably wouldn't get it with cheese. I didn't like the taste of their cheese on it. I am super excited to find a yummy taco place in the area that meets my expectations! They have affordable prices and work very hard! Customer service was great! Tacos were excellent!

Hole in the wall mom and pop shop off the highway. Basic Mexican dishes with great flavor. Plates are large as well as the tacos packed with meat. Migas were very tasty. Eggs cooked perfectly. Chorizo Chilaquiles were delicious. The greens salsa was subtle with a good amount of spice. The potatoes and beans came with the breakfast plates and were good. The Al pastor taco had a Smokey flavor to it. Our waitress was attentive and the food was out quickly.

My son introduced me to this gem in Kyle. The unassuming exterior gives you no clues as to how great it is, from the super friendly staff to the delicious homemade food. I have visited twice and both time the carne guiana was perfection. Servings are plentiful, many folks will probably take it home with them to enjoy later. Highly recommend if you are in Kyle and live supporting local small businesses!

This little family owned restaurant is "tired" look8 g, but the food is delicious. Don't expect ambiance or anything fancy. Nevertheless, we received courteous and friendly service, plus food that was hot and was fresh. The tortillas are made fresh in house. The tacos, yummy. There was a long line of cars waiting in the to-go line, that speaks volumes. Good coffee too. Just be patient, their sign reads. We were patient and rewarded with good food. Yes, dogs are ok outside on the two picnic benches.

Everything was pretty delicious and the presentation was beautiful. The Catfish Beignets were perfectly crispy with a hint of sweetness, but nothing super special about them, just tasted like fried catfish to me. The Diablo Chicken Pasta was nice and saucy, but like the catfish beignets, was a bit bland so I needed some salt to up the flavors. The shrimp ceviche was very refreshing, delicious, and a solid appetizer that was packed with flavor. The Chicken Waffles was good as well. The chorizo gravy sauce that came with it, was different, but complimented the whole dish very well. Overall, the portion was a bit smaller than I'd like for the price that I paid, but the food was overall pretty delicious. Our server Michael was fantastic. Super fast, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. A full bar, but didn't have Pina Coladas. Lots of tables and chairs to dine at. Clean restrooms and lots of parking. Also, the shrimp tostada bites were killer - I could eat those all day. My wife's carajillo was perfect. OK: catfish beignets-the batter was well seasoned and crunchy, but it seemed like the actual fish needed seasoning as it was pretty bland. Grilled chicken sandwich was pretty bland too: the chicken was slightly dry and aside from the avocado, onion and tomato, there was not much flavor. Checked the buns to see if they were spread with an aoli but no, pretty dry. I thought Z Tejas was ok then and it's still ok and wouldn't be my first choice unless it's for happy hour where they have the shrimp tostadas on special.

So when she got her bill she was surprised to see she was charged extra for the beans. Mind you the refried beans DID come with her tacos. Why did the waitress not ask "do you want the refried that comes with it or charro for an up charge?" Instead, the waitress automatically gave her charro beans. You don't automatically give someone the upgraded version to their meal and especially not without asking which kind of beans does she want. I'm writing this update bc in my last review the waitress did the same thing by up charging my husband's meal when he didn't ask to. BEWARE here! The food is pretty decent, nothing crazy but it hits the spot if you need some decent Mexican food. However, go over your bill and clarify everything-twice! Just in case because they will try to make extra money off upgrading you without asking you.

We were already seated at our table with my mother and children when the situation occurred. My special needs child had a caramel frappé from McDonald's, which is her preferred drink and one of the only things she consumes, as she does not eat by mouth. Our server had already greeted us and taken our drink orders without raising any concerns. Shortly after, another employee approached us and stated that outside drinks were not allowed. I calmly explained my child's medical needs and that the rest of us were planning to order food. Despite this, the employee brought over a manager, who repeated the policy without any willingness to listen or show understanding. We were then told we could not stay and were effectively asked to leave. While I understand that businesses have policies, the complete lack of compassion, flexibility, and basic customer care in this situation was unacceptable. This was not a case of bringing in outside food for convenience--this was about accommodating a child with special needs while the rest of the family intended to dine and pay as customers. Being asked to leave under these circumstances was both embarrassing and upsetting. Based on this experience, I will not be returning. I hope management seriously reflects on how situations like this are handled in the future, because no family should be treated this way. I'm pretty sure they won't reflect on this situation seeing as how the manager was all too happy about kicking us out, he literally showed absolutely no compassion or care at all.
