We ordered pickup. Chicken flautas plate, rice, refried beans. Sour cream and quacamole. Chicken quesadilla, large queso. No Pico, a tiny container of salsa. Flautas were undercooked but the Chicken was very dry with no seasoning. Tasted like old grease was used. Queso tasted like Velveeta. So disappointing. There are great reviews and I wonder if they are for other locations because this place is terrible. Such a sad meal. I feel sorry for the beans. read more

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon since this was one of the few places open. GLAD WE DID! This is a great little stop-in that hit the spot for some easy Mexican food. We were immediately greeted with chips and salsa, and also ordered a queso for dipping. Queso was perfect - liquid cheese that awaits a chip. Not too runny, not too thick. Our waitress was AWESOME!! I was between options and she recommended trying the green chicken enchiladas but swap for shrimp - I think they were some of the best green enchiladas that I've had! Flavors paired perfectly. BE AWARE ! - " $1.95 Extra for Charro beans" While the beans were tasty, we were taken back as to why the upcharge. Our server could not explain that charge so the manager came to our table and simply told us to his defense that, that was the charge that was displayed on the menu. Who expects to find that on any Mexican restaurant menu? No reasonable explanation for the upcharge was ever given other than him offering to comp a dessert. The beef Fajitas lacked any flavor and and not tender. We realize that those that work in the food industry have a demanding job but transparency for the food that we as customers are paying for should not include charging ridiculous prices. Arroz con pollo bowl is something I have never seen on a mexican restaurant menu so I decided to try it and it was DELICIOUS..... something so simple to make should be on more menus. Everywhere we went around Kyle and asked where to get the best Mexican food, everyone said the same thing. Go to Garcia's. We had high hopes, especially since we've been living in Houston and still haven't found a go-to Mexican spot we love. Garcia's is in a small shopping center in Kyle and it totally delivered on what people told us and what we'd read online. As soon as we sat down, we were served hot chips with both hot and mild salsa and let me just say, yum. The chips were so fresh they almost had a buttery flavor to them and yep, they were bottomless. We definitely had two rounds without hesitation. We kept it simple and ordered beef flautas, which came with refried beans and a generous scoop of guacamole and sour cream on the side. Everything came out piping hot, fresh, lovingly cooked and was just super satisfying. Exactly what we were craving. Our waitress was awesome...so friendly and attentive. She even told us a bit about the restaurant's story and how there are eight Garcia's locations now. She was so good at her job we actually thought she was the owner. Just a great dining experience all around. The place feels authentic, welcoming, and when we got the check, we couldn't believe our whole meal was under $30. If anyone from Garcia's is reading this, please, please open one in Houston. It would be well received! We'll be back for sure next time we're in the area. read more

My Mom wanted to try Garcia's so she got the family some food. My Mom said the staff were friendly and helped her order. She said it was very busy and a lot of people were coming to pick up to go orders also. My niece had the kids meal chicken tenders and fries and it was a lot for a kid. 2 large pieces of chicken and a tray of fries. Mom got a burrito, beans and noodles. She said the noodles were good and beans were the best she has had. Hubby got the chicken fried chicken and he said it was pretty good. He liked the rice and beans. just paid 15$ plus dollars for a tortilla chicken soup this is the amount of chicken I got. It was mostly tortillas chips and cheese. I am not ordering from this place again. I ordered large beverages and they gave me a medium size. I recommend going to Robles for the tortilla soup as they give you larger size portion of chicken breast and other ingredients for about the same price. read more

We have passed this restaurant so many times and finally decided to try it! It is always packed for breakfast and wanted to give it a try. We were able to sit anywhere we wanted and had the best service. I loved that they serve chips and salsa for breakfast. The menudo is what the server suggested and was delicious and piping hot! The chorizo was delicious and was very pleased with our meal. We are around 9am and it was pretty full inside! We definitely liked the food and will be back to try lunch! read more

Stopped by for a quick bite after a fun activity down the street at Unchartered Adventures. The place was hopping! But didn't have to wait too long for a table. The chips and salsa were fast. The sweet tea is an addiction food flavor is always consistent and great.. and the atmosphere is great not like the buda location where the music is over bearingly loud and difficult to hear your conversation across the table. Garcias has great food and service dining in if you are not sitting next to the ovens in summer but should reconsider delivery service - not once have we received our tortillas in the multiple times we have ordered via Uber eats and of those times only twice has the order been correct besides tortillas. We went to eat here today can't tell you too much except we got there at 8:50 am early before the rush time and are waitress never said hi or good morning then she took our order and forgot to put it in so we never got our food we keep see all of her other tables that came after us where getting their food but not us then the manager realized she never but are ordered in we had been sitting there for about 40 minutes without anything. So we just got up and left. We have been going there since the Buda location was closed but we have never had a problem in the Buda location that they always receive us like family. Management needs to train some of their waiters. Food in this location in Kyle is always good no problem with that we love to eat at Garcia but just the service needs help. read more

Oscar is GM and super concerned with customer experience. My husband and I had not been to Garcia's in a while and we decided to give it a try. We were told to sit anywhere we'd like. 15 minutes went by and no one acknowledged us or even told us they would be right with us. A group of people came after us and they were offered chips and drinks shortly after their arrival. We ended up leaving the restaurant. Garcia's never disappointments me when it comes to the quality of food, friendly and fast service, and their prices are super reasonable! I have not had a bad experience here. Most recently I have made the trek from South Austin and brought some friends along with me on the 20 minute drive to get the most authentic and tasty Tex-Mex food that can be found near or around Austin. Seriously - go try it yourself and tell me what you think. Now that I work full-time in Austin I miss having Garcia's weekly. I am a fan of both breakfast plates and tacos as well as their lunch and dinner specials. There is a large menu of items for you to choose from including breakfast all day! There is something for everyone including the littles. Plenty of seating even if you have a large group too as they have a spacious patio as well. It is seat yourself style when you walk in and do note the left side of the restaurant implies its for the bar area but you can sit anywhere you can find a seat for you and your company that is with you. Beef fajitas are super delicious and the chips and salsa are a favorite of mine. I used to buy bags of the chips for work potlucks (for when I was lazy and didn't want to cook). You seriously cannot find good chips like Garcia's. TRY ME! Peek their lunch specials as they are always come with a lot of food, have something new to try away from the regular menu, and will not disappoint you! read more

Stopped in at 8:15pm on a Saturday night. Place was pretty busy. Unfortunately, the main thing I came for was the margaritas. The staff attended to us within moments of seating ourselves. When I immediately ordered a margarita, I was informed that the machine had already been emptied and closed. What? At 8:15? This was nearly an hour before closing at 9pm. That was probably the saddest thing a waitress has ever told me. We left without ever even dipping a chip in the complimentary salsa. We'll return at some point, but it will be much earlier since the margaritas are on senior citizen time. read more

Food was no where near authentic. The chips they give as an appetizer are bland and taste store bought. They taste exactly like Tostitos chip. Any real authentic Mexican restaurant will make there own chips. None of the same drink as a real Mexican restaurant. This is as white washed as it gets. This place has GREAT food. They are very popular locally so you may experience a wait even on weeknights. Expect a wait on weekends. I eat here a lot and think it's worth it. Have also picked up takeout and asked for substitutions and they are always accommodating and friendly . I have tried almost everything on the menu and my only complaint is the wait. Each time we have been here we have not been disappointed. I love their menudo, it is the best I've had in this area. They have 3 other locations. This location in Kyle Tx, one in Buda Tx and the other near San Antonio in Schertz Tx. Their enchiladas are great too. This place is more of an authentic Tex-Mex style restaurant.
