Cutest little stand! Real home made. Authentic. If you're tired of the fast food stop at Susy's the seating area is so cute! Flowers everywhere and handmade benches! Love it. Food is delicious. I love Horchata and know they aren't all Made the same. This one did not disappoint. 5 stars

Fantastic flavor in all tacos. Loved their barbacoa, carne guisada and al pastor! My wife said their Gorditas were fire.

It immediately made us uncomfortable and definitely affected the whole experience. We almost left, but since we were already there and didn't want to go somewhere else, we decided to stay and give it a chance. Unfortunately, after seeing that, it was hard to enjoy the food and the overall experience just wasn't good. Another thing that stood out is how dark and dim the restaurant is inside. It makes it hard to see much around you, which honestly made us wonder about the cleanliness after what we saw. We had been here multiple times before without noticing anything like this, so it was surprising and really disappointing this time.

There's a little kids play area every can run around in. They do a great brunch on the weekends and the mimosas are cheap and good. We like meeting friends here on the weekends. It's loaded with huge chunks of squash, bell peppers, onions, and fresh avocado. They definitely don't skimp on the chicken or the rice, making it incredibly filling. I also tried the Birria Taco Plate and it was phenomenal. The meat was tender and plentiful, and they give you all the right fixings--onions, cilantro, lime, and even roasted jalapeños to give it that perfect kick. Great portions, fresh ingredients, and total satisfaction. I'll definitely be back for more!

The asada and pastor tacos were amazing - stuffed with perfectly seasoned meat from end to end. I ordered for pickup and it was ready in five minutes, ready at the front and the host was waiting for me with a smile. Such a friendly and professional staff. Bright and welcoming interior. Easy to access location right off the interstate. The red salsa is less hot than the green, which I'd say is medium. I ordered this through DoorDash and I loved that they had Mexican Coke! Real Mexican Coke with the labels, as you can see in my picture. I will order from here again and again. I was astonished that the reviews were so awful for this location - until I read them. I served for 3 years in college and every restaurant deserves a fair and honest review of their food, hospitality, and ambiance - the kitchen staff and front of house are working hard!! This restaurant should honestly have 4.7 stars or 4.8 - at bare minimum! I hope there is a process where previous reviews can be counterbalanced against the excellent experience I've had here. Every restaurant gets busy or has an off night. That's just how the industry works. But the meal I took home today was affordable, unbelievably delicious, and entirely unexpected. Not a restaurant that is any stranger to exceptional Mexican flavors - and one that I can imagine is incredibly consistent and well attended, despite the poorly devised assessments here. A local delight!!

Everything was pretty delicious and the presentation was beautiful. The Catfish Beignets were perfectly crispy with a hint of sweetness, but nothing super special about them, just tasted like fried catfish to me. The Diablo Chicken Pasta was nice and saucy, but like the catfish beignets, was a bit bland so I needed some salt to up the flavors. The shrimp ceviche was very refreshing, delicious, and a solid appetizer that was packed with flavor. The Chicken Waffles was good as well. The chorizo gravy sauce that came with it, was different, but complimented the whole dish very well. Overall, the portion was a bit smaller than I'd like for the price that I paid, but the food was overall pretty delicious. Our server Michael was fantastic. Super fast, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. A full bar, but didn't have Pina Coladas. Lots of tables and chairs to dine at. Clean restrooms and lots of parking. They have this huge fancy front door that threw me off a little lol.

Even then, i thought it was ok, especially for the price point. Stellar: First our server, Faith: she was super friendly, attentive and funny and made it a pleasant experience. Also, the shrimp tostada bites were killer - I could eat those all day. My wife's carajillo was perfect. OK: catfish beignets-the batter was well seasoned and crunchy, but it seemed like the actual fish needed seasoning as it was pretty bland. Grilled chicken sandwich was pretty bland too: the chicken was slightly dry and aside from the avocado, onion and tomato, there was not much flavor. Checked the buns to see if they were spread with an aoli but no, pretty dry. I thought Z Tejas was ok then and it's still ok and wouldn't be my first choice unless it's for happy hour where they have the shrimp tostadas on special.

Server asked if we knew what we wanted but since it was our first time we asked for the menu & ordered 3 drinks: Mexican bottled coke, jarritos (pineapple) and Sangria (soda non alcoholic) We ordered 18 mini tacos and 2 cheese quesadillas. Total was: $57 (cash ONLY) - Al pastor: 5/5 for taste, flavor, presentation and amount of meat to taco ratio. Only thing sadly missing was fresh pineapple for topping. - Suadero (fajita): 2/5 it was nicely packed but sadly missed the mark on flavor and it was very dry. - Cabeza: 2/5 the cut of meat was good but missing flavor. - Chorizo: 3/5 the flavor was good but not great. - Cheese quesadillas: 4/5 the cheese was quality cheese but didn't actually melt at all. Once the food came out (10min) we were given 2 types of salsas: green guacamole and red with chile de arbol. I was only able to add a few drops of the red salsa so beware. Overall we really enjoyed the food, service and mainly the al pastor tacos. We'd come here again if we're ever in Kyle.

I'll admit that I'm not a big fan of Mexican, Tex-Mex or other southern methods of food preparation. Judy is! She's the professional dietician, cookbook collector and best judge of foods quality, composition, and presentations. So I ordered my standard shrimp fajitas, no guacamole, no regurgitated beans, no pica de gallo, just rice and flour tortillas. The sizzling platter came to the table smoking hot with everything on the platter burnt to destruction. Judy, on the other hand ordered the full plate. One of their dinner "Plato's" where everything looks smashed together with all the things I don't like. But she is the "Foodie" and loves ethnic foods. She rates this place much lower than I did only had burnt shrimp and vegetable with a cup of the worst rice a mouse ever ran from. This place is definitely on our "one and done" list. I hope you have a better experience than we do so please drink up this food needs rethinking.
