Tried out Broken Yolk for breakfast and walked away wishing I went somewhere else. We ordered the Feta Avocado Toast and Cali Breakfast Burrito. The Feta Avocado Toast left a lot to be desired, there was barely a crumble of feta and the arugula was so bitter it was almost inedible. The Cali Breakfast Burrito was bland, the ingredients felt isolated and the rice and bean pairing was cold and felt like it was heated from frozen. While the food was disappointing, the service was friendly and fast. The interior of the restaurant is big, with bar, booth, and table seating options. First stop on our visit to pheonix with my wife and her friend. Restaurant itself is nice and spacious. We were seated right away. Our server was very welcoming and helpful. I got the Ranchero skillet, my wife and her friend got the Sweet Trio & the Greek Omelette respectively. I tried some of my wife's Sweet Trio, which was pretty good but the Ranchero skillet was just okay IMO. Our friend thought the Greek Omelette was good as well but nothing exceptional. Went with my husband and we tried the hash skillet The Monte Cristo The messy caramel latte, iced Bloody Mary flight Arnold Palmer The skillet was ordered minus the onions. Which was served as ordered. So I appreciate that delicious. The taste was great. It was hot. The potatoes were sliced like thin, sliced potatoes, so it was nice change from the regular chunks of potatoes that you get in a skillet , I would definitely order that again Monte Cristo was a little bit different than the only other one I've ever had. And seemed more like a ham and cheese sandwich between two French toast. That's not a complaint it tasted really good. And instead of jam, it was like a raspberry compote, and I really appreciated that it was nice and fresh. My husband got an Arnold Palmer. Just noting that because of the lemonade no free refills on that. Which is completely fine and I'm glad the waiter told us before my husband tried to get another one. So he just started giving him tea. I got the caramel messy caramel iced latte. I had a nice flavor to it. It was as expected. The best drink ended up being the flight of bloody Mary's My husband and I just had a lot of fun judging which one we like the best which was hard because all four are really really good. Came to check out Broken Yolk after they recently opened and wasn't disappointed! We got the matcha latte, Golden State Benedict and the Ranchero Scramble. Matcha latte was a tad sweet but delicious and packed with caffeine. Golden State Benedict was beautifully arranged and the star here was the hash browns as they were cooked perfectly with an excellent amount of crispy bits on top. Ranchero scramble was a solid heap of eggs, chorizo, potato avocado and egg though I wish it had a bit more spice and onion/jalapeño in it. (They don't call me Mr Onion for nothing) Service is quick and friendly I appreciated how efficient they were with digital tablets and hard working crew. A rate above other breakfast spots and I'd rank them in the same tier as Snooze and the Bread and Honey House with less of a wait. read more

Hey guys, new spot to try for breakfast here. Walked right in around 10am, no wait. Busy energy in the air, lots of conversations, lots of people, fast friendly service. Coffee was hot upon being poured, really good sign. Mario our server quickly approached and introduced himself giving us some of his favorite recommendations. I chose cinnamon roll style pancakes, my partner the waffle sandwich. The wait for our food was a bit long, not typical of breakfast food place, perhaps we came during a peak time. Our food came after a lengthy while and the waffle sandwich was perfect, my pancakes upon first bite were raw and the pancake batter undercooked. The overall experience was good, the service was super great and attentive, the uncooked pancakes and wait time contributed to my 4 star experience. I came here for brunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. The restaurant was very clean inside, and the service was excellent. Our server was friendly such a doll. I love going here for brunch with my boyfriend. It can be busy but usually turns tables well. I love how the inside is and how there's a tree in the middle in the main restaurant. My favorite sweet breakfast item was the churro French toast. It had a nice crust and was soft on the inside. The food came out hot and decently fast. I've also had other food in the past that were great. Only thing on the menu I didn't love was the home fried potatoes, I prefer the hash browns as they are crispy. Came here with a friend from out of town and what an amazing find! It's a bright and refreshing ambiance with kind servers who take the time to make sure you have everything you need. i got a short stack of the lemon ricotta pancakes and made it a combo with two poached eggs and sausage. It was incredible. I was sad I couldn't finish it all. The pancakes were light and airy, but not too sweet. There was a nice zip from the lemon but the richness of the ricotta balanced it nicely. The blueberries were the perfect addition. My friend got the pick two benedict. She got the Golden State and Border Options. She ordered hash browns on the side. No wait last Saturday upon walking in around noon. The ambiance is bright and airy decorated in bright colors. We were a group of 4 and we're seated in a smaller booth. Looking back we should have asked for a larger table as we quickly filled every inch of the table. We ordered mimosa flights and breakfast which are large servings so you can see why we ran out of room. The service was wonderful as it was quick and the food was delivered fairly quickly as well. We ordered a variety of food one of the items were the Nutella strawberry banana crepes and the golden Benedict. We were not a fan of the lemonade mimosa and the Dreamsicle was top sweet for my liking without any alcohol. Definitely skip theae if youre on the fence. Took the family there for breakfast. Only 1 of the 4 meals was edible. I knew we were in trouble when the coffee came out lukewarm and tasted old. My wife ordered one of the eggs benedicts and the eggs weren't completely cooked and the English muffin wasn't toasted, which made for a gooey mess. My daughter has the biscuits and gravy. Gravy-cold, potatoes uncooked and no seasoning. Just a very underwhelming experience. With all of the great breakfast options in town, no reason to come back. read more

I'm a broken yolk fan & visit many of the other locations. This was my first time here at the one off Highland. The one star goes to the fact that I had several long gray strains of hair found in my food. I was so disgusted when I found them & immediately stopped eating. My 2 kids pointed it out, and I let the server know, but that's where my frustration really escalated as their response was more of a "prove it" vs taking accountability and trying to resolve. I immediately got up to talk to the manager and kudos to her as she did say this was unacceptable. My bill was comped and I decided to wait outside while my kids finished their meal but they were inspecting every bite with hesitation. The staff responded immediately. Seeing this spot packed on Saturday morning around 9:50 am so that made me believe the food is good. I checked in on the Yelp app and added my self to the wait list then checked in with the hostess. This process worked like a charm because we got seated within the 10 minutes. We already knew what we wanted so as soon as our server Alissa came by to introduce herself we put in our order and got our food and drinks.
