    Fried dumplings
    Kent C.

I was randomly in the mood to find good fried dumplings and fried pork buns. This was one of the places that popped up in my search as I was looking for semi-specialty places by me. This is very much a hole in the wall place. I walked in and was greeted immediately by the 2 ladies that were there. All I saw were the food + rice + soup items in the hot bar. Then I noticed a menu on the right and the lady asked what I wanted and let me know there are a few things that are not available. They did have the fried dumplings and fried pork buns all the way on the left hand side of the hot bar. First both items were barely warm. The fried dumplings were rather salty but the filling to wrapper ratio was not too bad. The fried pork buns were pretty terrible, the bun itself was very dry and the filling was pretty much non-existent. Crossed this place off my list for fried dumplings and fried pork buns.

This place is a classic example of why you should never judge a book by it's cover. Does it look grimy from the outside? Is it no frills inside? Yes...and yes. But the value you get for your money here is so worth it! By far, one of the cheapest places to get a good size meal. For only $5 you get rice or noodles, with a choice of 3 entrees and soup! Is it greasy food...hell yea! But you don't come here looking for gourmet Chinese cuisine. This is stick to your ribs, hangry type of food. Plus, they have fresh steamed pork buns (4 for $1.50). You could spend $10 here and feed a family of 4!!! Plus, the ladies behind the counter were super friendly to us. This will definitely be a go to spot when I'm hungry and low on cash. P.S. it's cash only.

Mash a Chinese spot that serves, pick 3 items over rice/ noodles, with a hole in the wall dumpling/ street food place, & Broadway Snacks is what you'll get. Slightly off Broadway, right near Kung Fu Tea is this inconspicuous little shop. If you're seeking a hearty meal/ snack, that won't leave you broke, this is where ya wanna try.

The only place around here that offers bamg for your buck; besides the bakery a few doors down. Where else can you get a quite filling meal of three dishes, 1 soup and a base (white rice always) for only $5? I hope they'll stay around for a long time to come!

Pan-Fried Dumplings (Not Crispy) Don't get it.

I honestly feel very bad giving this place a negative review especially in my own neighborhood but hopefully, they will take my feedback into consideration. I was quite happy to see this place pop up. This means more breakfast choices for the locals. It is good that it is fairly inexpensive and readily available when the food carts are not there. I ordered Fried Pork Dumplings because I really, really craving it after hours of studying at a cafe. Big mistake on my part. First off, the keyword is 'fried' pork dumplings. It was not crispy at all and it was moist. The minced pork meat was really dry and had a tough texture. One good note is that they are pretty meaty and big but still, not good at all. I also had their congee and noodle soups before because my family bought them home. I was not impressed at all. They have no flavor what so ever. I will continue to go to my food carts and Shun Wang for my congee. Sorry, not sorry.

Omg. I work at a dental clinic near this place. My coworker and dentist always buy food from here. It's so good. The price is cheap but the food is so high quality. I love it so much.

I have been here couple of times now. This shop has had many facelifts through the years from merchandise stores to restaurants. Now, it's a small cafeteria that sells all the stuff you find at a food cart vendor or the small food shops in Flushing Chinatown. It is small with stills around the window high table and there is a communal table in the center with some chairs. The place is clean and staff is nice. The food is inexpensive and filling. Many seniors, blue collar workers and locals frequent this place. The two food cart vendors on Broadway are gone, so this place fills the spot. They also have coffee. I will be honest, I've tasted most of the food there except the tea eggs. Give it a try!

Good, cheap steam table Chinese food. You can choose any 3 items with rice or noodles for only $5. The selection is very good as well. I had the sesame chicken, sweet and sour pork, and curry chicken. The sesame chicken was the best of the three, with the pork being a little tough and the curry chicken slightly bland. However, overall, they tasted fine, and for the portion size and price, it is hard to complain. They also offer all of the cheap Chinese street food you would typically find in any Chinatown: pork buns, fried chicken legs, spring rolls, dumplings and much more.

This restaurant has a variety of Asian "Breakfast" snacks such as porridge, fried dough sticks, steamed buns, fried buns and rice noodles. These cheap snacks range from $1.00 to $3 bucks. Also available are some noodle soups with toppings such as fish balls, wontons, shrimp, pork chops, etc.. The shop has a small area for in-store dining but is mostly a grab and go type of restaurant. This is the type of food that you will normally get with a street vendor. Since they are a small shop, they tend to run out of options towards the end of the day. Arrive earlier if you want to make sure you get what you want !

4 choices With either noodles or rice with soup . It is delish

The kitchen here doesn't shy away from traditional flavors--the food is unapologetically spicy and savory, avoiding the "overly sweet" profile that many Thai spots fall into. Here's the breakdown of what we tried: Tom Yum Goong: This was the star of the show. It had a sharp, clean heat and a perfect citrus punch without that syrupy finish you often find elsewhere. Crispy Pork Belly: Exactly what you want it to be. The skin was incredibly crunchy, and the meat remained tender, seasoned perfectly to highlight the savory pork flavor. Fried Fish: Deep-fried to perfection with a light, crispy exterior. The sauce paired chili and fish sauce with fresh mango. Crab Fried Rice: Generous with the crab meat and wonderfully "wok-hei" (charred) and salty. It wasn't bogged down by sweet soy sauce, allowing the delicate crab to shine. The only real sweetness of the night came from the Mango Sticky Rice, which was the perfect, cooling end to a very spicy meal. The mango was ripe and the coconut milk was rich, providing the only sugary reprieve of the evening. Service was so nice. The hostess and sever were so nice and friendly. The severer felt like a Thai uncle, he made jokes, gave us napkins, joked with my child. It felt so familial. If you want authentic, spicy Thai food that prioritizes salt, spice, and acid over sweetness, this is your spot.

Kam Rai Thai has a very cozy and warm atmosphere with fake flowers decor everywhere. Street parking can be hard at times and involve circling around a few times. Food menu can be accessed by QR code and paper menu for drinks. The first time I visited Kam Rai Thai, I shared the papaya salad with my friend and had the Pad woon sen with shrimp. The papaya salad with green papaya, string bean, tomato and roasted peanut with spicy lime juice was refreshing and light. The Pad woon sen has sauteed glass noodle, egg, onion, scallion, cabbage, celery, carrot, tomato and sesame oil. The second time I visited, I had the Pad see ew with beef. The Pad see ew has sauteed wide noodles with Chinese broccoli, black soy sauce, and egg. Both dishes were very flavorful, delicious, delectable, and appetizing. The dishes were very filling and there was a good proportion of noodles and protein. I've had the Rainfall in Loei and Fang Martini Time, both are really good drinks and not overly strong. We shared the mango sticky rice for dessert and it was good. The mango was very fresh and the sticky rice with coconut milk was sweet, but not overly. My friends ordered the Kopi De Trang, Spicy Maesai Plum, Rainfall in Loei, Thai ice tea lychee, pad see ew with chicken, pad kee mao beef (non spicy), and khao soi gai confit. I ordered a pad kee mao beef with a spice level of 2 to go. It is a great option to have a spicy and non spicy option for pad kee mao. Everyone enjoyed their food. Staff are very friendly and the food come out very quickly after ordering. There is a 5% discount if you pay with cash and a 2.95% surcharge for credit cards. Kam Rai Thai serves authentic Thai food and I can't wait to come back. It is a great place for friends to catch up.

You're spoiled for choice here but everything is pretty good so I'll call out the extraordinary items. The fish broths are amazing, sweet in the seafood way with a deep richness of flavor. The black fish slices (poorly translated from Chinese, sorry) were satisfying. Boneless and tender. It's a small cost to upgrade from regular fish (I believe it's grass carp) but it's worth it though unfortunately I can't help much in terms of naming the upgrade in English. Their popcorn chicken is well executed, with light crunchy batter and well-seasoned meat. Their fruit drinks are nice too, including the pomelo grape and the peach. Ask for less sugar if that's your thing. Portions are ridiculous but admittedly we over ordered on purpose. Also, it's a common move to ask for the free noodle refill before getting your leftovers to go though we did not partake in the excess here. The bowls are already never-ending buckets of goodies. We did take our leftover broth though. No shame. In fact I'd be more ashamed if we wasted the soup.
