Stopped in for breakfast last week while home for a few days. Bristol Square Cafe has been a staple breakfast spot for Walpole my entire life, and has consistently served quality food whenever I've visited. It was a Wednesday morning when we stopped in, so no wait, we seated ourselves and were promptly visited by the waitress. I ended up ordering off menu from the special board at the door, getting the meatloaf omelette, which was fantastic. The theee egg omelette was packed full of meat, and cheese, it was served with and English muffin and hash browns rather than the advertised mashed potatoes. The meal was great, and plenty of food to keep me full most of the day. Service was also good and attentive. My only suggestion is the space may be ready for a facelift. I'm pretty sure the interior has no changed in my lifetime. The decor looks exactly like somewhere you'd expect your grand parents to take you for a meal and some of the seats in then booths are "bandaged" with duct tape. But other than that, it's definitely worth a visit! read more

Stopped in for breakfast on our way home from a night out in Boston, we have never been. Cutesy diner vibes inside with a selection of beers and wines, I was happy to have a mimosa! Service was very friendly for sure. The entire place felt cozy! However, their food looked presentable but not with quality. My husband's home fries were not seasoned enough according to him. It's probably my bad not asking if the strawberry and blueberry are fresh. Of course, it came soggy and mushy. The worst part was the dry blueberries tasted so rough and awful. I'd strongly suggest the owner or chef substitute the blueberries and strawberries for the fresh ones. read more

The food is good, I've never had anything that wasn't good. The staff is friendly and the food comes out very quickly. My only problem with BSC is it's 2024 and you can't order online, they have an online ordering platform, but it's never up and running, and they don't belong to any delivery apps (Uber Eats, Grubhub, etc.). I love the food but I can't always go to the restaurant to eat or pick up the food, and I want it delivered. read more

Ordered a mushroom sandwich. Taken aback with the size of mushroom. Literally more bread than sandwich. The waitress was so nice and helpful and the food was tasty! The only reason I took two stars off is because when my credit card slip was brought over to me, a 20 percent tip was already written on it (in pen). There was no sign posted on the menu or the restaurant about added gratuity, and it wasn't already printed on the bill, so I was definitely confused as to why it was written. We were already planning to add a tip, so it wasn't too big of a deal, but it definitely threw me off a little when it was already written out as if she assumed we wouldn't leave her a tip. I'm just wondering what would happen if we wanted to add a larger tip and she had already written the 20% on MY credit card slip. Only a few months ago I was going to the Brookside Cafe in Norwood every Saturday morning. I've now been visiting the fine folks at Bristol Square Cafe every Saturday morning for 3 months. Why did I make the change? First I want to say Brookside Cafe is absolutely my #2 breakfast spot. Good food, good service, good atmosphere. Nothing bad to say whatsoever and if you're local to Norwood or just visiting the area you should absolutely check them out. Anyway, a little while back I was looking for a change-up in menus. I had a little staycation going on and took the opportunity to check out a bunch of breakfast places over the course of a week. Saturday came around and I wasn't all that impressed and figured i would just stick with Brookside. That's when I said "screw it", and headed 10 minutes out of Norwood to the excellent Bristol Square Cafe. Boy am I glad I did. Every Saturday morning since has been a great experience. The menu is outstanding - not so busy you can't make up your mind, and not so short or "hipstery" that you're telling yourself to get out and go to a real diner. Just a great selection. The service is excellent and the wonderful and warm ladies of the front staff along with the quick and professional cooking crew in the back and you get your order in quick, have it cooked up just perfectly (and if there IS ever a mix-up somewhere in there they have no problem making it right ASAP!), and then they pay just-enough-and-not-too-much attention to your coffee refill along the way! If you're a countertop guest like me, versus a booth or table person, you may also find yourself having some nice conversations with good people, including the staff and the locals. Beyond the people and the atmosphere there is the FOOD! I haven't had a single thing I haven't thought was great. Even the simple pleasure of pancake stack, which frankly most places never get right, these guys in the kitchen at Bristol Square Cafe nail it every time whether it's pancakes straight up, or with blueberries, or with chocolate chips. Maybe next time I'll ask for "peanut butter cup" and see if they can pull it off! I *highly* recommend these two orders: * Corned beef hash. I think it's Mary's Kitchen, but ask for that sucker well-done and you will love it, trust me. And always go with Hollandaise sauce, not cheese (personal preference, but cheese sauce doesn't belong on hash!) As of the time of this review the whole plate is corned beef hash, two eggs, home fries or beans, and toast or English. My go-to until today has been scrambled, home fries, english, Hollandaise on top, all well-done with a coffee. Superb. * Marinated steak tips & eggs. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?! I just ordered this for the first time today (July 8, 2017). Small order, Steak medium, scrambled, home fries and raisin toast. Three decades of breakfast diners and these were the single greatest steak tips in my life. So good I licked the plate. Not kidding. Lastly, some tips - no pun intended! * Seat yourself, yes anywhere, unless the sign says to wait to be seated. * There are restrooms just outside the restaurant - ask for the keys at the counter. * Tip well! Ordered 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, bacon and coffee my friend ordered a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich. When the food arrived the pancakes weren't warm enough to melt the room temperature butter, the sausage on the sandwich was cool and undercooked, disappointing. read more

i agree with the description that bristol square cafe is "a small, hometown restaurant." there seemed to be a lot of local customers enjoying sunday brunch. i ordered the grilled portabella benedict with a side of homefries. the benedict was simple and good. i was surprised at how big the portion was. the service was prompt and fast. the prices seemed a little high, but it may be because i usually do not go to breakfast places that often. i also feel like the restaurant itself looks a bit outdated, however, it fits the description that it states. read more

I was so thrilled to discover this place last year; it quickly became a favorite place to meet up with friends and family. The quality of the food and the service are both excellent. It is never uncomfortably noisy or too crowded. I love the fact that there are booths available whenever we go there. I would like to add a big thank you to the waitresses who are currently working there. They have to wear masks all day, and they have very few tables to wait on, but the service is just as good as ever. You won't have to worry at all about spacing. The inside is big and you will have plenty of space around you, or --alternatively--you can sit outside. If you are dying to finally get out of the house, this is THE place to go! It's a little difficult to believe that a great breakfast place exist in a office building strip mall in Walpole, but it's true and I am very excited to expand my breakfast list. It's not a diner, but it's got all of the great character and characters of a diner. The waitress was extremely nice and cheerful a pack house at 7:30 am. (The townies eat early) The special are posted out front one like dessert, one lite and healthy, and one for a lumberjack. Today was Reese's Pancakes, (Why hasn't anyone else thought of this?),Tomato and Spinach (T.S.) Eggs Benedict, and 3 little pigs in a blanket (3 three pancakes wrapped around three sausages sleeping on pillows of homefries, AWESOME!!! I wasn't feeling too adventurous so I stuck with the house special, Triple berry stuffed french toast. 5 star on the f.toast: Fresh blueberries, preserved strawberries & cranberries, stuffed with a light cream cheese. Everything was perfect.! My dining companions were on the opposite sides of the spectrum of the food universe. Ones trying to get into her bathing suit so she had the T.S. eggs Benedict. She said it lacked some salt, but it's always better to be able to add instead of sending it back, besides salt retains water =P My brother had the 3 pigs, he's 6'2 210 lbs and even he as stuffed, like my french toast. The country fries were large chucks of red bliss potatoes, a little salty but perfectly crisp. The prices were fair, 30 bucks including a 20% tip...Marge you're wicked awesome. The only reason I gave them 4 stars...Coffee lacked the robust flavor one needs for the first cup of Joe. A definite return or a stop on my way to Wrentham Outlet Mall. read more

Very nice place for lunch in Walpole. I love going here for a quick lunch. The place is never that crowded for lunch (at least at 12:30). They have a huge menu and lots of selection. Today I had the bagel, egg, and cheese with homefries ($4.95). My boyfriend got the clam strip platter ($7.95). It came out ridiculously fast and everything was good. The onion rings with the platter were thin and crispy. The homefries were just spicy enough and the sandwich was perfect. I really need to try their pancakes or french toast because they have so many awesome choices! It was super clean (spotless) and the waitresses are always really friendly. It is in a strip mall but the place is big enough to accommodate the crowds which is always appreciated. read more

I am personally a huge fan of Bristol Square Cafe! The coffee is always good, better than the usual 'diner' coffee you can get at other breakfast joints. The food has always been so great! I am a huge fan of the omelets, they are always cooked just right and the filling inside (what ever your choice of filling may be) is always cooked too! I have found that some places do not cook the vegetables enough and it ruins the experience of the omelet...you will not have this problem at Bristol Square. The pancakes, waffles and french toast are also a great choice. If I had to choose one of the three I would go with the pancakes. They are a great size and are not too heavy, but are just right. I find the french toast to be just average, nothing too special. The waffles are also a great choice, and choose to add fruit topping! If you are asked to have fruit as a side DO NOT GET IT! I find the fruit to never be fresh and it seems like it came from a can. Stick to the meats and home fries when deciding on your side at Bristol Square. The home fries are GREAT! The service is also impressive here. Do not go on a Sunday morning because it is always extremely busy and you will be wait ing for a table and your food. I found Saturday was always a good time to go. When you walk in you are immediately hit with the charm of a small town cafe. You will not be disappointed here at Bristol Square! read more

Avoid this place at all costs if you are expecting to get a quick breakfast particularly on a Sunday. We waited 20 minutes for a table for 5, another 10 minutes to get a coffee and 35 minutes from the time we sat down we got our breakfast. Our waitress was seated a party of 8 and ourselves at the same time and had 3 other tables (they 'slammed her ', in industry speak). The other waitresses standing around at nearby stations should have helped her out by taking beverage orders. A party of 3 that arrived the same time we did was leaving before we even ordered. Hostess/Staff did a poor job assessing dining room...4 tables remained empty the entire 20 minutes we were waiting for a table. Food is decent...if they can get the service down they may have something. I'm positive we won't be back here any time soon. read more

We love going here; the food has always been good. This time was disappointing though. They asked us to sign in and then we sat down. Our waitress came over and her mask was below her nose. Does anyone else see a problem with this? Also, one of our orders was wrong, which we can abide but the mask below the nose is unacceptable. Was with a group of friends recently at Bristol Square. There were 6 of us seated at a long table near the back. We had our dear friend with us for the first time in months. She had suffered a very serious stroke and hadn't been out much in the last 6 months. A most obnoxious and rude waitress approached our table, looked at our handicapped friend and told her she needed to move to the other end of the long table because the waitress wasn't able to get by. The waitress had seated a woman directly behind our friend and that woman blocked the aisle.There were many other tables available that this obnoxious waitress could have seated this party of three. People at this table looked horrified with this situation. Needless to say we got our friend's walker and left the restaurant. We all were very upset. Hindsight, we should have reported this waitress to the manager. Nasty behavior. Our handicapped friend was so embarrassed. We were so uncomfortable and angry. Needless to say we will never return to to the Bristol Square Cafe. read more
