13.95 and the waitress wondered why I was questioning a small slice of turkey. Her attitude was poor.

13.95 small slice of Turkey question it and you are the gad guy. Place is a Dive.

Service was very friendly for sure. The entire place felt cozy! However, their food looked presentable but not with quality. My husband's home fries were not seasoned enough according to him. It's probably my bad not asking if the strawberry and blueberry are fresh. Of course, it came soggy and mushy. The worst part was the dry blueberries tasted so rough and awful. I'd strongly suggest the owner or chef substitute the blueberries and strawberries for the fresh ones.

Should've ordered a fing burger as then kitchen staff said to me

I'm not much into complaining, and I absolutely loved this place. Been coming her frequently over the past year. I don't blame the waitress, could've handled it differently. Ordered a mushroom sandwich. Taken aback with the size of mushroom. Literally more bread than sandwich. Waitress asked if I wanted something else said no, closing time Know they wanted to clean and get going. But she brought it back to the kitchen. I heard the whole kitchen crew start complaining and said said inshouldve ordered a "fucking burger" . Indirectly to me and meanwhile i have my 3 year old with me. I'm sorry but if you're a cook and you send out something like this then complain loud enough for me to hear. Should've done it right the first time. Mushroom

The waitress was so nice and helpful and the food was tasty! The only reason I took two stars off is because when my credit card slip was brought over to me, a 20 percent tip was already written on it (in pen). There was no sign posted on the menu or the restaurant about added gratuity, and it wasn't already printed on the bill, so I was definitely confused as to why it was written. We were already planning to add a tip, so it wasn't too big of a deal, but it definitely threw me off a little when it was already written out as if she assumed we wouldn't leave her a tip. I'm just wondering what would happen if we wanted to add a larger tip and she had already written the 20% on MY credit card slip. (I included a picture of how my credit card slip was brought over to me)

I stopped for breakfast a couple of days ago. Some of the best blueberry pancakes ever!!

Hollandaise over eggs sunny-side up over corned beef hash with home fries and English.

Only a few months ago I was going to the Brookside Cafe in Norwood every Saturday morning. I've now been visiting the fine folks at Bristol Square Cafe every Saturday morning for 3 months. Why did I make the change? First I want to say Brookside Cafe is absolutely my #2 breakfast spot. Good food, good service, good atmosphere. Nothing bad to say whatsoever and if you're local to Norwood or just visiting the area you should absolutely check them out. Anyway, a little while back I was looking for a change-up in menus. I had a little staycation going on and took the opportunity to check out a bunch of breakfast places over the course of a week. Saturday came around and I wasn't all that impressed and figured i would just stick with Brookside. That's when I said "screw it", and headed 10 minutes out of Norwood to the excellent Bristol Square Cafe. Boy am I glad I did. Every Saturday morning since has been a great experience. The menu is outstanding - not so busy you can't make up your mind, and not so short or "hipstery" that you're telling yourself to get out and go to a real diner. Just a great selection. The service is excellent and the wonderful and warm ladies of the front staff along with the quick and professional cooking crew in the back and you get your order in quick, have it cooked up just perfectly (and if there IS ever a mix-up somewhere in there they have no problem making it right ASAP!), and then they pay just-enough-and-not-too-much attention to your coffee refill along the way! If you're a countertop guest like me, versus a booth or table person, you may also find yourself having some nice conversations with good people, including the staff and the locals. Beyond the people and the atmosphere there is the FOOD! I haven't had a single thing I haven't thought was great. Even the simple pleasure of pancake stack, which frankly most places never get right, these guys in the kitchen at Bristol Square Cafe nail it every time whether it's pancakes straight up, or with blueberries, or with chocolate chips. Maybe next time I'll ask for "peanut butter cup" and see if they can pull it off! I *highly* recommend these two orders: * Corned beef hash. I think it's Mary's Kitchen, but ask for that sucker well-done and you will love it, trust me. And always go with Hollandaise sauce, not cheese (personal preference, but cheese sauce doesn't belong on hash!) As of the time of this review the whole plate is corned beef hash, two eggs, home fries or beans, and toast or English. My go-to until today has been scrambled, home fries, english, Hollandaise on top, all well-done with a coffee. Superb. * Marinated steak tips & eggs. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?! I just ordered this for the first time today (July 8, 2017). Small order, Steak medium, scrambled, home fries and raisin toast. Three decades of breakfast diners and these were the single greatest steak tips in my life. So good I licked the plate. Not kidding. Lastly, some tips - no pun intended! * Seat yourself, yes anywhere, unless the sign says to wait to be seated. * There are restrooms just outside the restaurant - ask for the keys at the counter. * Tip well! I want to see these folks happy and in business for a long time so I get to keep visiting!

Eggs Benedict with hollandaise sauce. Home fries and veggies. Hit the spot! Casual service. Good coffee. I'm a happy camper!

This was just fantastic…read more Our order was 6 ribs, collards and a tall boy of green mountain. It came with a complimentary PILE of thin pickle slices and pickled onions and they threw in a cornbread with a honey butter. The rub on the ribs was delicious in it's own right, and both barbeque sauces were a joy. There was a more traditional zingy barbeque sauce and a sweeter one. The pickles made me very very happy. The corn bread and butter was honestly the star though - I was so surprised. Corn bread is not an automatic favorite for me, by any means. We ordered at the take away counter, but we ate in and were given full table service. Once we got past our confusion regarding the table service it was very pleasant. The eating area was cute. I love the cow wall paper (and the chicken wallpaper in the bathroom) But the bench seating was a little weird and a little too high for the table. There was a TV on showing the game, but it wasn't super loud. We felt like the food was worth the price. Check the patriots schedule before you go - it gets caught in game day traffic. We would certainly come here again - but not on a game day.

Everything is à la carte in the ordering is a bit confusing: your first order is over-the-counter, but additional items may be ordered through a server. -- Ribs: Full spareribs with the tips intact and a nice taper at the edges. Creative presentation as individual bones stacked up, with lime wedges and herbs. Very coarse Texas style rub that had bold, captivating peppery flavor, but a little ashy from either a long hold or a reheat. Cross sections dry, though moist inside. Tender and somewhat smoky. Very good, but these would be killer if fresh. -- Wings: Smoked and fried, served naked by design, with sauces on the side. A little Shake-and-Bake-like, not that moist, and not that flavorful. Like a poor man's Rusty Can wings. -- Brisket: This seemed relatively fresh, but cookled quickly. Quality varied greatly depending on which slice you took and where you bit. Some bites perfect. Some bites dry. All had impactful flavor from both rub and smoke. Good bark, good tenderness and wobble, at least on the parts from the point. -- Pulled Pork: Molded into a gray and depressing softball, but it felt and tasted better than it looked. Most of it luscious and moist, though borderline mushy and could use some firmer or barkier pieces for contrast. Flavor subtle. Not that warm. -- Sausage: This house-made link gushed juices on contact and had screaming flavor and great texture (soft, hinting at pebbly, but still intact), but barely room temperature. Would've been elite if warmer. -- Coleslaw: Decent. Crisp, lightly dressed, neither sweet nor tart. Fairly tame. -- Cornbread: Fantastic coarse texture and brown butter flavor, but a little on the stiff side. Molasses butter on the side was like a frosting and it worked fabulously. I'd pay to know when I can have a hot one. -- Sauces: They've got a dark brown barbecue and a red tangy one. Both are pretty good, but better when mixed. -- Service: Mostly young kids doing the order taking and food running, and all were very nice. Overall, I'd say the meal was good for sure, but this place has so much potential to be great. If a few things were a little warmer or a little fresher, they'd be among the top handful in New England. Even as-is, they're not too far off.
