After leaving a diner because of bad service, we decided to visit Bristol Square Cafe. I must say it was well worth it! The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was great! read more

anyone who knows me at all knows i need to eat immediately upon waking. when i'm ripped from a peaceful slumber by the sounds of my stomach trying to devour itself, you best have a solution ready. bristol square is that solution in suburban massachusetts. i went twice this weekend. that's how much i enjoyed their breakfast. it hit the spot (twice! ooo) and is not confined to socially accepted breakfast hours. the menu has all the a.m. standards, many upgraded from the stock model. friday morning i had blueberry stuffed french toast - fat slices of french baguette, stuffed with blueberry cream cheese and with whipped cream and more blueberries thrown on top. my boyfriend had some kind of new england lumberjack breakfast - eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, home fries, et cetera - that was too big to finish. on sunday i had a popeye (like the sailor man) benedict, with spinach and tomato, and he had more sausage and sunny-side-up eggs. we wished the home fries were a little crispier. i still ate them. i can't speak to any of the other foods, but i also don't care. i really love breakfast. it was pretty empty on friday morning, and unreasonably packed on sunday, but the service was consistently good both times. plus a star for making ICED coffee, which saves me a run to dunkin donuts and the subsequential wallet-leaching and self-loathing that always ensues. read more

Typical greasy spoon. A local favorite that does good breakfast! Easy parking makes this place a great spot for a nice weekend breakfast. My personal favorite is the Sausage Benedict with hollandaise sauce. They have great home fries and yummy pancakes. There menu has something for everyone. read more

Food was tasty, service was prompt. Corned beef hash was great and my wife really enjoyed the french toast. Our server came by to refill my wife's coffee three times (which was appreciated) and she was wonderful with our one-year old son. read more

Service is so terrible, very rude and non personable. The food quality is horrendous. I ordered a bagel and it was so stale I couldn't eat it. My friend had had and egg with cheese, the cheese looked plastic. The waitress brought over cream cheese, dropped it on the ground in front of my table and served it to me. BETTER OFF GETTING BETTER FOOD AND SERVICE AT DUNKIN DONUTS. read more

This place could have done better. No pics as we were really disappointed this time. We've been going here many years. Went again this morning for breakfast. Husband got eggs, hash browns, sausage and grilled english muffins. I got chocolate chip pancakes. To drink we got coffee, tea and water. Husband could not eat his english muffins as they were hard as a rock, obviously stale. We notified our waitress of the problem and she offered to replace the english muffins. Husband at that point was not interested in waiting for something that should have been done correctly the first time. Well, we ended up waiting a very long time for the check anyhow and I actually still had to go to the register to ask for it. Who knows how long the wait would have been if I didn't ask. You shouldn't have to chase people to pay them. While paying the check, I mentioned the disappointment over the too hard to eat english muffins and waitress repeated how she offered to do the order again. There was no offer of any credit on our bill (which I had to ask for after waiting a long time) for poor quality item. $25 total check not including tip. We won't be coming back. We are all done with this place. Too bad as they really messed up on something really simple they should know better on. Also shame on a place serving stale food and then making you wait a long time to pay them. read more

Went for the first time for late breakfast yesterday with my husband and a friend. A small space and about 75% capacity filled. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. Food was excellent. We all enjoyed our breakfast. And I was very happy with the portion of my Banquet II plate. Sometimes breakfast plates are overwhelming which turns me off as I have a smaller appetite. But this was just right. read more

Good service, the waitress was really kind! The food was ok, nothing extraordinary. Good portion.

Consistently great food, good service. Staff obviously enjoys their work. Breakfast or lunch. The Benedicts are amazing!!

We live locally and have been to this restaurant on many occasions and have always found the service very friendly and good. While it is true it gets really busy on a Sunday we always thought that indicated that others also found this place to be great and did not mind the wait (usually less than 15 minutes) . The marinated steak tips and eggs are great and worth any wait. read more

I like everything I have had here, though I have to say the buffalo tenders are INCREDIBLE! This is what me and my husband come here for. They really are worth the trip! read more

I was surprised to see some of the low star reviews of this place! It's your typical breakfast diner food that has always been consistent. I've been coming here for over a decade with the family. Some of my favorites: the pancakes, French toast, and my absolute favorite: their home fries with a side of hollandaise for dipping! read more

Bristol is a GREAT spot for a lowkey breakfast. Not to expensive. More family oriented. Quick service . Great for a breakfast date or something like that. Definitely recommend. (Gluten free options too!!) read more

This morning, a very crisp and cool september morning, I had a craving to go out to breakfast. The wife did not want to go, but I would not be denied this morning of sitting down to a breakfast joint and tearing into some eggs and what not. I didnt want to drive too far, so I hit this place called the Bristol Square Cafe in Walpole, Just a few miles away. I knew they had breakfast here as I had eaten there back in the 90's. It was about 7:15 or so and there were just a few people in there - nice and quiet. They are located in a little strip mall next to a Dedham Savings Bank. The service was attentive, I had my coffee to me in seconds. On to the menu, pretty loaded with all kinds of options. I went for the "Western Skillet." It came with eggs on top of the potatoes with melted cheese, onions and peppers, served up in a ceramic cassarole dish, and some toast. Food quality not bad, I wish I got something different though, it just wasnt quite what I craved. I should have got eggs over easy with hash, that's what I really wanted. Anywho, all said and done I left a decent portion of the large cut potatoes on my plate with 2 pieces of toast - because too much carb messes with me. Here is where I am trying to get to - the tab on that was $11.29! What, this doesnt include the coffee? I felt like I'd been had, taken to the cleaners. Leaving a 2.00 tip on top of that was tough. Alltogether for a little eggs and homefries and coffee - $13.29!!! Ouch!!! Never again. Waitstaff was friendly, food quality not bad, just expect to dump a bus load of cash for a breakfast you can get at any greesy spoon for 5 bucks less per person. I just felt like I got walloped. Learning lesson for sure - Pauly, Out. read more

We tried breakfast. We were seated right away, but at least 3 tables were seen that were seated after us!! No one even approached to acknowledge us. Walked out but spoke to someone. As an former waitress, I understand being busy. Saw all the servers standing and talking!! Very disappointed! read more

Food is decent I mean how can you crew up two eggs over easy. The waitress was ok. However there seems to be an misunderstanding is this entire country where the American people think they are owed something. The tipping standard is 15% not 20% or 25%. Just because you served a big table of people you DO NOT get to add in your own tip. If I wish to leave more or less that is MY decision not yours. In this country 15% became 20% and before you know it it will be 100% of the bill. I did not make you a waitress you did and you are entitled to what I deem you entitled to. If I think you should get 10% well then thats what you get and do you know why you obnoxious brat because I AM THE BOSS. When I sit down you are serving me I am not serving you. The truth be told the tip would have been more but you annoyed me by adding in your own tip and screwed yourself. Good Job! WAKE UP AMERICA ! read more

Food was tasty. Service was ok. Nothing that wouldn't keep us from coming back. Steak tips Benedict was a favorite.

This place has a really great menu for both lunch and dinner. The service is hit or miss - sometimes the couldn't care less teenager, sometimes the attentive 40 something waitress. The food is very good. My eggs benedict was very salty on my last visit - but I am very sensitive to salt. They have a great portabella mushroom and spinach sandwich, my fave! The booths are terribly uncomfortable. The table is not at the correct height for where it should be...very low. actually - i think it's the booths. the booths are too high? read more

A friend drove out of town to meet me at the Bristol Cafe. After 30 minutes , the waitress put down our bill and asked us to leave. We asked for another cup of coffee and she again said there is a wait, please pay and leave. I was SHOCKED to say the least and embarrassed. The manager's response was, "waitresses are told to do this when there is a wait". I will not be back. I give this place a BIG THUMBS DOWN. So disappointed... read more

ok I would like to start off by saying I did not have their breakfast, which they are allegedly known for. I ordered a Buff. Chicken Cesar salad. I was expecting to have a Cesar salad with buff. chicken. I asked for a small side of ranch to dip the buff chicken in. I receive the salad and chicken in different containers with only ranch dressing. I was a little disappointed. I will say the chicken was amazing but the salad was pretty bad. If i ever go back there i will only order the chicken without the salad and save my self the $11.00... read more

This place is terrible. The food is very low quality - "fresh fruit" is clearly frozen. I've never gotten a meal here that I was satisfied with. For some reason locals find it good, which Is beyond me. read more

I come to this place every so often for breakfast and am usually satisfied. However, I stopped in two weeks while I was on vacation and was so disappointed I may not be returning. I ordered an egg white cheese omelet with fruit and a bagel. The omelet was by far the WORST I have ever had. The fruit was wilted and mushy. The bagel which I asked to be grilled, was so soggy and thin I could fold each piece in half and wondered if it even was a bagel. My friend ordered pancakes which were not cooked all the way through (batter in the middle) so that he couldn't finish them. Maybe the cooks were having a better day, I don't know, but with this kind of food customers won't come back. read more

If you're looking for a local diner type place with good food, this is it. The staff is always very friendly. Food is always good. Standard breakfast food. Prices are reasonable. Low key friendly cafe. read more

Bristol Square is the epitome of a small town breakfast place. It is quaint and homey and you cannot go there without running into someone you know. The food is delicious, and you receive a huge meal for very low prices. The wait staff is very nice and all around you just feel very comfortable while you're there, due to the laid back feel that Bristol gives off. I would recommend this restaurant to ANYONE, because it is truly one of the greatest local establishments in Walpole. read more

The food was average not bad but the service was absolutely horrendous. Low class trash to say the least. The waitresses walk around sipping their drinks, pinching their I phones, gossiping back and forth. If I were the managers I would clean house and hire some servers with at least a little bit of class. Won't go back read more

Food and service are both good. The carpet is always dirty. The table and chairs aren't much better. The salt and pepper shakers will leave you sticky or greasy. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. I had breakfast there on Sunday, June 30th. I was with two friends whom I hadn't seen in three years. I realize that the pay scale for waitresses is extremely low, as my mother, aunt and two cousins were/are waitresses. The food was delicious, but the waitress we had was rude, argumentative and absent when it came to her job. I would mention her name, but she never introduced herself to us. My friends and I were extremely careful about watching the front door to make sure that we were not taking up space that new customers would need. We were also aware that there were other tables and booths empty to accommodate whomever needed to be seated. Getting a refill on coffee was next to impossible, and one of my friends actually had to leave the table in order to get me a glass of ice water. Our waitress took our order, never came back to ask if everything was good, or if there was anything we needed. When we were getting ready to leave, she finally came over with the check, and said: "You can never do this again!! You can't take up a table for this long!! I only have four stations!!!" How are we, as customers, supposed to know how many stations a waitress is assigned? Her complaint is with her boss, not with the customer. I've read many reviews about this place, and I have found that I am not alone. The wait staff are rude and inattentive to their patrons. read more

Steak tips and eggs r a winner. Service good -busy, expect a bit of wait!

Made the mistake of going on Sunday a.m, waiting line. Do you think someone would greet you after 10 minutes of trying to find the person to check in ? No luck walk out and went down the street to the Westbury Diary very good food and service, the Blueberry muffin was homemade and very good read more
