Grilled cheese and tuna w fries
Catherine S.

Was looking forward to trying this place for a bit. But never have time til this day. I went in and it was very empty. There was 1 person at counter, 2 tables w people at them. Thought it would be a bit busier as it was still lunch time. There was a lot of take out. The decor seemed dated. I sat at counter waitress came right over. Asked if i would like something to drink. I got water and asked if there was a lunch menu. She gave me that and also said that they were serving breakfast and lunch. I said thank you. I got my water, checked out specials on menu and board. Seemed pricey. But for me that day it was a treat. I eventually decided on the grilled tuna melt and fries on rye. When it came the cheese was melted and tuna was still cold perfect. But the fries were hot like i like them but felt there wasn't enough. It was not worth the $ of $9.50. Felt it was very over priced. But everything was a bit high. Probably why it was so quiet. There were 3 servers and looked like 3 cooks in kitchen. It was clean but as said before dated looking. Might try again but not for awhile.

Came to Galante's late one Sunday morning after reading the great reviews here on Yelp, and I'm so glad I did! The food was just wonderful, our waitress was very friendly and helpful, and the whole atmosphere of the place was just pleasant and great. There was a wait, yes, as with any great breakfast spot, but the wait was so worth it. I had a mushroom egg white omelet with hashbrowns and wheat toast, and even something as simple as the toast was delicious! The veggies in my omelet were pre-cooked so they weren't raw inside the egg (you'd be surprised how many times that happens!), the cheese was flavorful, and everything was seasoned just right. Even for a "greasy spoon", I didn't feel bloated or gross when I left, which is always a plus. Really good, honest food all around. I will definitely be back, and I can't wait! As a note, as another reviewer said, they do take credit and debit cards, but for the price of the bill only, not tip. Make sure you bring cash to tip the friendly waitresses!

This place happened to be exactly in the middle between where my friend and I live, so we decided to meet here for lunch. The street corn flatbread was tasty and cheesy, and my friend's fried chicken sandwich was also good. Service was friendly if a bit slow. After lunch, we went apple picking which was I think $34 for a peck which is pretty standard nowadays. They had macoun, macintosh, cortland, and some other varieties, but I prefer my macs. The apple orchard is very small compared to other places I've been, but served its purpose. Would have been nice to have a couple ladders in the orchard for easier access to apples on top. Would have also been nice if the bathrooms were not portapotties--my friend and I chose to hold it lol. They also have a pen with chickens, ducks, and goats that look fairly happy and well cared for. We came on a weekday so it was not crowded at all, but I would imagine it gets packed on weekends.

Four of us splitting them so one whipped feta cheese dip wasn't enough but we ordered another. My friend got the chicken parm which she really liked with the pesto pasta underneath. While a few of us split some pizzas. We got a large half and half of buffalo chicken and the primo pepperoni pizza. Then we wanted to try the sweet ricotta and vodka pizza special so we got a small. The special was so good!!!!!! Plus the other two are our favs so we knew they'd be good. Crust is yummy too. We also split the raspberry chocolate cake which was delicious. The inside of the restaurant definitely has a cool vibe and was a nice size. I do recommend making a reservation online in advance. At the end of the day I gave this spot a 3 only because the food was mediocre. I ordered a custom ricotta and pepperoni pizza and shared some fries. Both left me feeling disappointed (and I am not a picky pizza person, trust me).

My favorite thing to get is a "build your own bowl," which I load up with fix-ins and toppings to complement the raw fish kick. The staff here are very friendly - the young man and woman are always working hard, and it's really awesome that they can always greet customers with such enthusiasm. If you're timid about building your own poké, they have signature bowls you can choose from on their menu. The large bowl is extremely filling, and they don't skimp on the protein scoops. Generally, I mix tuna, salmon and shrimp on sushi rice. Cucumber, mango, jalapeños and edamame are a must in terms of adding color and more flavor to the bowl. Green onions, pickled ginger, masago and kani salad are awesome to top off the bowl, and avocado when I want to splurge. The chojang sauce is my favorite one to toss everything together, and wonton crisps and shredded nori will forever be my go-to crunchy toppings. So there you have my custom bowl - not to sound biased, but I think you'll love it if you try it. The service is excellent - I've never had a problem with my order. The team members take their time, and the hospitality is great. They're happy to explain menu items or offer new suggestions, which I really appreciate as an indecisive but particular person. I commend them for holding down the fort and serving clients - very impressive, and I can only imagine switching between making drinks and building bowls. Speaking of, I appreciate how they have Loose Leaf, the boba shop, inside Pokemoto as well to fuel the bubble tea cravings. Everything here (and there) is high quality (stay tuned for my Loose Leaf review), and I enjoy the matchacado smoothie with boba a lot. I'm a wee bit worried about cleanliness in the dining areas at times, but it's not the end of the world (a napkin would do), and the recent times I've grabbed something from Pokemoto, I've taken it to go. I understand the establishment is more fast casual, and it can be tough to keep up at times - this is more of a reflection on past patrons who may not see the line of crumbs or utensil sleeves they leave behind. Overall, I love this location - ample parking and seating. I think it would also be nice to have seats for solo visitors and couples (at times I feel bad occupying a booth that could fit at least six people) - it would be cool if the boba shop was set up cafe style for longer stays (will gladly order 3 matchacados in one "WFH" session).
