I have been trying all of the soups at Farmer In The Dell this spring and they're all absolutely amazing. Every one has a stick to your ribs homie layered quality and it's never the same anytime you stop in. I loved the chicken stew that tastes like the inside of a pot pie. The gumbo is rich and tasty. Portuguese sausage soup is to die for. The chicken and rice soup reminded me of visiting my grandma as a kid. The best one by far is their autumn squash soup. Unmatched! This is the perfect spot if you're looking for a quick lunch! It doesn't look particularly appealing from the outside, but it's cute inside. I would recommend taking your food to go, but they do have a few picnic tables outside. Most people just stood around waiting for their food to be ready during the lunch rush, but it didn't take too long. The sandwiches were pretty standard, as was the selection. In spite of a long line of people, I was greeted with a genuine smile and helpful patience. As I began asking questions, the lady behind me advised me to get the lemongrass chicken banh mi. She also said that the Viet salad rolls were amazing. I tried both. During my brief wait, I added two cookies and an individual strawberry rhubarb pie. When my food arrived, I noticed the delicious peanut sauce and asked for another container which was cheerfully provided. The sauce and the rolls were fresh, crispy and delicious. They were mostly veggies so don't plan on a lot of chicken, but definitely worth $8.75. The bahn mi was also on point with crispy veggies and a grilled chicken breast on a tender roll. I've been here a few times for lunch. They have a great local fresh menu and the sandwiches and salads are a great portion for the price. First time here and definitely won't be my last time. I was working nearby for the day and decided to see what was around for lunch spots. Farmer in the Dell was the first place that caught my eye. I immediately saw pictures of the chicken banh mi sandwich and knew that's what I wanted. I ordered it over the phone early since I figured it would be busy there around lunch time- and even with covid I was right, it was busy. I was glad that I ordered it ahead of time and to-go because my sandwich was ready and waiting when I got there. I also picked up a bag of multigrain chips, a peanut butter brownie, and a package of hermits for family. The banh mi sandwich was all that I wanted and more. It was so tasty and fresh I honestly felt I could have eaten two of them haha. The chicken was deliciously marinated and it paired perfectly with the cilantro and slightly pickled carrots/cucumbers and the perfect amount of mayo + the French bread. Without a doubt, get this sandwich, you will enjoy it very much! The peanut butter fudge brownie was really good but my only disappointment was the top layer of chocolate/peanut butter on the brownie came completely off when I opened up the plastic container it was in, leaving it all over the top of the container - It was pretty thick and fudge-like, which was yummy, but made me wish I had a spoon or knife to get it off the container. Definitely ask for utensils if you get the PB brownie because it was unexpectedly messy. Also- this brownie seemed like it could have been flourless? I am not sure, but it definitely did not have a cake-like texture. But more dense like a flourless brownie, and a very fudge like consistency too. Hermits were really good too. Tuna salad sandwich is really tasty, they absolutely shove it full of tuna. Turkey Flatbread has excellent flavors, i think the marinate their tomatoes in olive oil and herbs and it's amazing. Viet salad rolls mostly noodles. Was disappointed not to see more of the veggies and a little more than the strip of chicken in there. Peanut sauce is phenomenal though. Deviled eggs are great! Pineapple cheese danish isn't very good. Has a strange taste and texture. Very much not a fan. Salted caramel gelato is SO tasty. Omg wish I had gotten a bowl of that instead! read more

I have tried several of the salads here with chicken added and the salads have been consistently great! We brought a take out meal to friends, and ordered the family meal for 4 of beef brisket, risotto with asparagus, shallots, thyme, arugula and Grana Padano cheese. The beef brisket, we were told, is one of their most popular dishes, and now we know why. The beef brisket was slow cooked and came with pan gravy and horseradish cream along with mashed potatoes and roasted Brussel sprouts. The beef brisket was cooked perfectly and the horseradish garnish gave it an excellent kick of flavor. The risotto was very tasty and since the portions are generous, we were able to get a couple meals our of this. Thank you again to the staff for a wonderful meal! I did not expect to like Farmer in the The Deli as much as I did when approaching the building which looks like a former bank. I did my research and reviews were strong. The location is not for everyone but either for me with staying in nearby Foxborough. A Lyft driver had trouble with the address, but got us there. A picnic table is under a tree. Surface parking is close to the door and everything clean. I entered the door with my daughter around 11 AM on a Saturday and was surprised they were not crushed. The case still had some sweet treats. Menu boards on the wall guide you the dining room was clean and probably six tables fills out the restaurant. They were out of a couple items we asked for. The young cashier was apologetic and friendly. I settled on the chicken salad sandwich, my daughter mac n' cheese. They have an assortment of great looking lattes but I was not in the mood. The food was out in a little over 10 minutes. My daughter reported delicious mac n' cheese, my chicken salad was scrumptious! I saw no trash cans, so awkward bus, or not to bus. That is the question? Stopped in on the way to my dentist in Walpole & had the most fantastic sandwich (Bhan Mi). They have many to choose from, but I'm glad I got this, which was a delicious modern take on a classic sandwich. The flavors are deep and just delicious.
