Their menu is a good selection, everything seems to be made with fresh ingredients and they are known for their wood fired oven pizzas. We started with their truffle fries which were yummy. Four of us splitting them so one whipped feta cheese dip wasn't enough but we ordered another. My friend got the chicken parm which she really liked with the pesto pasta underneath. While a few of us split some pizzas. We got a large half and half of buffalo chicken and the primo pepperoni pizza. Then we wanted to try the sweet ricotta and vodka pizza special so we got a small. First off, Milford can be tricky to park in but Rail Trail has their own lot! I didn't know ahead of time and was pleasantly surprised. The inside of the restaurant definitely has a cool vibe and was a nice size. I do recommend making a reservation online in advance. This was our second visit to Rail Trail Flatbread, and after a cold 3.5 mile walk around Hopedale Pond, we were hungry. We were seated by a window, and our prompt, pleasant and professional waitress arrived quickly. I've been here multiple times and switch up what I get every time. I'm always drawn to their seasonal specials. Everything has been absolutely delicious! Everyone I've come in contact with there is friendly and helpful, they seem well versed on their offerings. They have a great draft list that is constantly changing and featuring local breweries. Stopped in for drinks and the hummus platter, and it was so fresh and flavorful. I love bright, fresh food, and this was exactly what I was hoping for. Delicious food and awesome bar in the Milford location! Stopped in for a drink to check out the bar and ended up staying for dinner and it did not disappoint. The corn ribs were so good and the pizzas were filling even for the personal size. The bartenders were very attentive and we never felt ignored or rushed. It's also great that they have a connection with NewCity Microcreamery so they have a few flavors in house for dessert but also an ice cream freezer for pints to go. I end up having the buffalo chicken pizza every time I go. I want to try some other menu items, but it's just TOO good. (I appreciate that they don't pop any bubbles that might form. I like it when I get some crispy bubbles in my pizza!) Sometimes it's chilly there with the air conditioning, but it's definitely not if you sit near the brick oven! Those are the best seats. Parking can be difficult when they're busy and the lot fills up. ...and sometimes on their busy nights it's made it hard for me to find a place to park for a few minutes so I can pick up a Chinese food order on the corner. Only issue we've had are their "house-made" chicken nuggets. Our 6 year-old picky eater didn't care for the "hard bits" in them. Should probably not bother making custom nuggets for kids. Heat up some frozen, processed ones and the kids would be happy and allow the parents to enjoy their meal. That said, I'm glad Rail Trail is in Milford. I wish Milford would get more restaurants like this because it seems like almost all the other options are either national chains or Brazilian. We need more variety like this! read more

Long story, not short. Extremely positive experience. This is a follow up from my previous, not so complimentary review. The restaurant manager did reach out to me directly and apologized for my experience and offered a gift card to give them another chance. A dear friend of mine was going to be in town, it was her bday and her husband and I planned a surprise dinner for her. My friend is a vegetarian, is extremely picky and won't eat many vegetarian dishes. I sent a list of restaurants to her husband and he narrowed it down to two places. Based on my previous experience, I was reluctant to choose the Rail Trail as the winner, but I had to keep in mind my friend's food preferences (she loves pizza) and the fact we'd be having 9 more ppl joining us. I went online to make a reservation, Friday at 6pm, and there were no openings for that time. Often times restaurants block out certain time frames because it can be chaotic with cancelations and all. No problem, I'll call to make the reservation. I called, and initially, it didn't seem possible as they had many, many reservations. I was thinking in the back of my head, I'll just call the other chosen restaurant no problem. The man on the phone had me on hold a few times, but was very personable, friendly and trying his best to accommodate my party. Voila, mission accomplished, reservation made. He asked if it was a special occasion and I told him the details and he told me the parking could be tight as they start getting busy around 5. I appreciated him telling me so I could relay to the others. We're all originally from town and knew alternative parking options. I then remembered my previous experience when the manager privately reached out to me. I responded back to him to let him know I would be coming back and will be a party of 11. I really wanted a great experience for my friends bday. He responded letting me know he would be at the other location, but assured me we would be taken care of. We'll let me just say that was an understatement! With the reservation made at 6pm on a Friday, I was certain we would have to wait when we got there. I was pleased when our table was ready on time, waters and menus already on the table. Our server came over right away to introduce herself, wish my friend a happy birthday, tell us about the specials and took our drink order. She also let us know the restaurant manager wanted to offer us a few complimentary appetizers and suggested the carrot hummus (she didn'tknowmy friendis a vegetarianso it was a perfect suggestion). A few of us got there first with others staggering in separately. The drinks came promptly. We started with the suggested carrots hummus: a smooth carrot hummus with complimentary seasonings, delicious sweet roasted carrots (which should offer alone as a side) and pita triangles. My picky vegetarian friend thoroughly enjoyed. We also ordered mozzarella sticks and the parmesean fries, which were both delicious. We ordered another round of drinks then our meals. Our server (I wish I could remember her name because she was amazing) read back all our orders to be sure everything would come out promptly. Before our meals came, the manager stopped by to introduce herself and make sure everything was going well were enjoying ourselves. All the food came, perfectly as ordered, at once, by various, friendly food runners and servers. We were all stuffed from our plentiful appetizers, but made room to enjoy our entrees (various flatbreads, salads, sandwiches and fish and chips). Another friend insists on ordering from the kids menu and they were happy to accommodate, which is great because often times it's the perfect portion. The bday girl was offered a complimentary bday dessert, which was a generous sized brownie and delicious, creamy restaurant made ice cream. There was a lit candle and we all sang Happy Birthday. Everything was perfect. I've worked in the restaurant business before and I could tell all the restaurant staff went out of their way to make sure we all enjoyed ourselves and had an excellent experience. Our server was very knowledgeable about the beer options (no bud or coors here) and was happy to ask the kitchen various questions the vegetarian, bday girl had. The only negative thing I can say is the pita bread, for the hummus, was a bit doughy. That could just be a personal preference. Other than that, I want to express my gratitude for such an amazing experience for me and my dear friends. Thank you to the branch manager, our server, the restaurant manager, all the runners, the host staff and the bartender who personally delivered a round of our drinks. Everything was very much appreciated. What a great staff! I dine out frequently and will have the Rail Trail in my rotation. My wife and I visited this restaurant today with our friends and we were very impressed with the restaurant, the staff, and most importantly the food! We were seated right away, the restaurant was clean and it's quite large, the pizza ovens are huge! We ordered the Hot Tots appetizer, the very ones that were seen on the Phantom Gourmet and they were awesome! The mozzarella sticks were great as well. We all ordered flatbread pizzas, the primo peperoni, Buffalo Chicken, the farmers market and a custom one, they were all so, so delicious!
