Returned to this gem, this time with my grandson and his hearty teenage appetite. We sat in a casual dining room with booths and lovely decor. One of things I love about this place is the variety of dining settings. The lounge is cozy, the casual dining room perfect for families. But there's also a more formal dining room, complete with white tablecloths. We were greeted and seated immediately this time. Our waitress was amazingly friendly and attentive. The kid's Sprite was more like seltzer and she replaced it Lickety-split, with a smile, and returned a moment later to ensure he was satisfied. We ordered an appetizer of Buffalo Chicken Tenders, requesting both ranch and blue cheese. It was a large order that we didn't finish, despite ravenous appetites. Our mail dishes arrived in a timely fashion, despite the restaurant filling up quickly. I had the Fish & Chips while my grandson ordered the Pilgrim Dinner. We were both very pleased and the bottomless pit took half of his home, declining dessert. This diner is very particular about her cake slaw and rarely enjoys it. I must say that I nearly licked the container clean. Be more thing - the bill didn't break the bank. I enjoyed a cocktail, we shared an app and had two delicious, generous meals for $57 - Hard to beat these days!

We came here for Easter, what a regrettable experience. We ordered the stuffed sole. It was served to us cold, vegetables looked & tasted like they were over cooked. Waitress was sweet to bring it back to be re heated. It came back worse than before, now reheated, but in a puddle of very cold sauce, it was completely tasteless. We were so surprised this was served to us, it was not edible. From our experience, I don't think they had a chef preparing food, just someone reheating & plating food. Waitress was pretty great though.

We ended up at this restaurant as it was near Southwick's Zoo. Upon entering, we were kind of confused, there was an ice cream shop to the right (nobody behind it), a front desk in front with 2 rooms behind it with lots of empty tables (also no employees present), and to the left a small dining room with a ar (bartender and customers present). However, we waited in the lobby area as there was a sign that said "Please Wait to be Seated." It was probably about 5 minutes before someone came out from one of the two rooms to seat us and brought us back into those rooms. It was really nice in there actually, a totally different environment then the lobby portion. Our waitress was really sweet, and fast as was the food. And the food was all delicious, and HUGE portions, especially for the price! We ordered clam chowder, fried pickles, shrimp scampi, and chicken parmesan for two people, and we were stuffed with tons of leftovers!

a meal in a styrofoam container

I bought baked haddock , steak tips and pot roast tonight , the sweet potato was bigger than the haddock and was over cooked , the haddock was small and soggy, the tips were okay and also the pot roast, definitely lacking , must be the virus

The buffalo "chicken" tenders were more like pressed chicken. They certainly are not 100% chicken or even close. Very disappointing

Stumbled on MSK and we will be making a point of returning. They welcomed us on the back patio with the dog (even brought her a bowl of water). Menu was relatively small, but the fresh and delicious food made up for it. Soup of the day when we visited was NE Clam chowder which was really good and full of clams. I had a chicken pot pie; fresh, homemade and very good. Tuesdays are taco days and we got a chicken tacos as well, which were solid! Staff were great (and funny). Prices were super reasonable, but we left a bit extra on the tip especially after finding out they operate as a non-profit and raise funds for the town Xmas Parade. Only open during the day, but highly recommend if in the area.

I was in for the adventure!!! She contacted them ahead of time to get more details (they didn't have a Yelp page yet) and they advised to park across the street at the package store (was it a package store? I think it used to be Lynch's drugstore years ago? I'm not positive anymore). We parked and crossed the street. We weren't quite sure where to go and stopped at the front screen door to ask. They told us to follow around the side of the building to the back. We stepped into their back patio and were quickly in a relaxed atmosphere. The patio was set up beautifully with plenty of tables, umbrellas and lots and lots of plants!!! They came out and helped us pick a nice shaded spot to enjoy our meal. We were offered menus and the woman who seems to be the originator of this 'idea' (her name is fittingly Holly), sat down with us and told us how this venture is all run by volunteers and all the money raised goes towards funding the town of Uxbridge's annual Christmas Parade. She also explained to us (along with her marine biologist daughter) how they are trying to be as environmentally conscious as they can be. All the paper products were recyclable as well as the disposable eating utensils. They also made an extra effort to get canned water as to cut back on plastic. My friend got the chicken pot pie and I got the pastrami sandwich. We were quite pleased with our selections. They have a regular everyday menu and specials everyday. They have limited hours of Tuesday thru Friday from 11-3 pm. Go check them out, you'll enjoy a delicious meal, help a great cause and get to relax on their cute patio!!

The decor is exactly what you'd want in a neighborhood tavern, with tons of pictures, patches, plates, and all kinds of things on the walls. It has that local bar feel that makes you comfortable as soon as you walk in, which I absolutely love. The staff was great, and our waitress was super friendly, easy to talk to, and really social. We even pulled a little prank on one of my coworkers, and she played along with us, which made the experience even better. We appreciated her getting involved and having fun with us! We went on a Thursday when they had a $25 steak special, which included a 12-ounce sirloin with mashed potatoes and vegetables. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was AMAZING. Everyone in our group ordered something different, and every single dish looked incredible. I was torn between the steak and birria sandwich, so I went with the steak this time. One of my friends got the sandwich and said it was amazing, so now I already know what I'm ordering on my next visit! The burgers also looked phenomenal, so those are on my list to try, too. There are only a handful of tables, so I can definitely see this place filling up quickly, especially if you're going for food. Despite that, everything came out quickly, including our drinks, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Between the food, the atmosphere, and the staff, everything was top-notch. It's always nice finding a place where the food is great but the overall experience makes you want to come back, too. I will 100% be back, and I'm already looking forward to trying that sandwich and the burgers next time!

We were told by our server that a parking lot is available just down the next side street - close by. We had no reservation, but scored a round table facing the street. Place was homey, lots of metal signs on the wall and hanging from the ceiling. Nice menu, adult daughter had a clam chowder (very thick and tasty) and shared our meals. My significant other had a corned beef reuben with a side of truffle fries and a pickle spear - very nice reuben, plenty of meat, swiss, kraut and dressing. She and daughter who always order reubens aaid the sandwich was good. I had a Depot burger which was half lb beef, bacon, cheese and tomato. Excellent. Came w homemade chips and a spear. Server was attentive with refills, checking on our food and whether we wanted dessert. Nice place for lunch, just celebrated their 12th anniversary of being in business. Will come again for lunch or breakfast.

I had the turkey/spinach/roasted red pepper omelet with pumpernickel toast (which sounds super busy but was perfect in every way). It was so different- I loved everything about it! The peppers were just amazing! The toast was just how I like- normal toasted, a little darker on the edges. Always the way I want it but never get it that way (and butter on the side too- big bonus to me). I added a picture for you to see it. Nothing is overtly wrong, and it is better than say an Applebee's, but there were some pitfalls. The service is a high point. Very friendly and fast, the whole order was correct. The ambiance is of a lodge restaurant, reminiscent of restaurants I've been to in national parks. We ordered a tot poutine, chicken fingers, steak tips, and autumn turkey wrap, finished off with a pumpkin swirl cheesecake. The tot poutine was pretty small to share, but it might be right sized for one person. The flavor was pretty good, but it struck as trying to be fancy with poutine unnecessarily. The scallions are a good addition, however, as they cut through everything with a bite of fresh. The chicken fingers were chicken fingers, juicy and coated well, not fancy and not needing to be. The steak tips were juicy, and most of them were medium rare. Even the ones that were over still were not dried out, so you can't complain much there. The mashed potatoes were okay, nothing special if you were eating them alone, but dragged through steak drippings they were better. The green beans with squash was an odd pairing, both with each other and the rest of the plate, but also not a detractor. The autumn turkey wrap was unbalanced, tough to get a cohesive bite. Not that you'd usually complain about an overfilled wrap, but if you're going to make it where you can either choose a bite of turkey or a bite of everything else, it takes away from the experience of your dish you've prepared. At this point in the meal, I was prepared to give four stars, but it fell down after. The pumpkin swirl cheesecake indeed had a pumpkin swirl, but then was doused in a topping. A whip? Not a cream or sauce. In any case, it was gingerbread flavored. Plus a ginger snap cookie. Then drizzled with maple syrup. So what you got was more like a gingerbread cheesecake rather than pumpkin swirl, and I wouldn't have ordered that. Who does that? On my way out I went to use the restroom. As I was finishing, an employee came out of the stall behind me. As I turned to go wash my hands, said employee was leaving the bathroom. This was probably ten seconds. Where was the hand washing? I don't know. What I do know is I left the bathroom and saw that same employee, now with gloves on, making pizza. Yes there were gloves, but how clean were the hands that put them on? When I looked I didn't see a blatant employees must wash hands sign on the mirror, but it's not a good look for employees who are going to handle food to have a thorough hand wash after using the bathroom. If you're at the zoo, you could do worse than eating here, especially as there didn't seem to be anything else with a 10 mile radius, but that should be no excuse for the restaurant to serve food you'd be happy to get either.
