    Chicken Marsala with penne
    Barbara Ann W.

Stopped for dinner just before the holidays and pleased to find it only moderately busy. Still, we waited somewhat awkwardly to be greeted, as the hostess was behind the desk and nobody else was waiting. Once recognized, we were seated in a very comfy booth and given menus. Our waiter was a lovely young man who took good care of us. I chose from the specials offered - Seafood Fra Diavolo. My date chose the Chicken Marsala, after much debating. The menu is very nice with several appealing options. My meal was good with plenty of fresh shrimp and scallops. The sauce was good but scant and not as spicy as the Fra Diavolo to which I am accustomed. It was a generous portion and I took some of the pasta home to doctor-up the next day. The Marsala was devoured in its entirety and very well received. It appeared to have a generous amount of mushrooms, which would have pleased me, had I ordered it. I'll definitely return and try some of the regular offerings. The menu has something for everyone and this is a local, family run establishment in my new community.

Real hole in the wall! A lot of variety and great food for the price. Also have a bar area with the typical beer wine and spirits. Definitely an affordable alternative to most places in town

Bad food, absurd prices for what they deliver. My pasta is an absolute joke for $14.

Stopped in for lunch and there were a lot of cars in the parking lot so I figured it couldn't be half bad. Food seemed pricey for lunch but I ordered open chicken sandwich and hubby got shepherds pie. They were both 9.99. Took 30 mins to come. Got our rolls with lunch, would have bee nice to have them sooner. Chicken sandwich was a few slices of processed frozen chicken breast on a slice of hardly toasted white bread. Mashed potatoes were instant, and it was canned gravy! Shepherds pie the basically the same! Everything was soooo salty as well. Waitress never asked how our food was. We are now sitting for 20 mins waiting for check and or to clear the table. When she finally did bring the check, she never said thank you or even acknowledged us. She just put it on the table!!! I'd give it 0 stars if I could. The coleslaw was decent although served WARM -not room temp but WARM - ewwww!

I guess it's cool to make your own parkin' spot if pickin' up an order!

I love the pot roast, american chop suey, family style chicken, prime rib, lamb shank, and everything else I've had.

We also ordered 3 appetizers- baked feta, mozzarella en carrozza , and arancini balls. All of the food was pretty good. I would say that my dish wasn't particularly hot, just warm, which was kind of upsetting. Also, our server was very kind, but she seemed to disappear for a long amount of time in between us sitting, ordering drinks, ordering and receiving appetizers, and (finally) ordering dinner. We were having a good time, so maybe that's why she took a step back... but it did take us over an hour to get our meal order in. Overall, a nice spot. Would definitely comeback again, just maybe not too hungry!

It was a Sunday afternoon; a special dinner offer for a three course meal was offered for a reasonable price. Our server, Margo, was very friendly and attended to our needs throughout our meal. She quickly served water and appealing bread with olive oil and condiments. The ambiance in the restaurant was lovely in the rich deep green Rakeville room with a lit fireplace. It was, however, slightly difficult to hear in our seated location as we were adjacent to the bar which was quite busy. We hope to be able to dine in the Bartlett room in the future. Regarding our dining experience, we began with the fried zucchini appetizer served with a side of tzatzikias dip to share and it was scrumptious! Regarding entree selection, Hubby loved his rich tasting Harvest ravioli - stuffed with goat cheese, caramelized onions, sweet butternut squash, tossed in a creamy garlic sauce and topped with perfectly grilled chicken. I actually wanted that entree but we had decided to try two different entrees. I chose the steak tips a la Mama which were fine but not compared to the ravioli dish. Some of the steak tips were a bit difficult to cut, but the mashed potatoes and roasted zucchini were very good. The included desserts of NY style cheese cake served with whipped cream and strawberries as well as the flourless chocolate torte, each of which were accompanied with whipped cream and strawberries were a very sweet ending! We will look forward to returning and perhaps dine in the Bartlett room if available.

The interior is inviting with a large dining room, and the hostess was welcoming right away. Service stood out--attentive, consistent, and professional throughout the meal. The menu is extensive, almost to a fault, but it works in your favor if you're indecisive. They were out of one of the surf and turf specials, but with so many options it wasn't an issue. Drinks were well done--the spring sangria was a highlight and worth ordering again. We started with bread and truffle-style fries. The fries were overcooked and a bit too hard, but still flavorful and a generous portion. For mains, the short rib was pretty good and well-prepared. The chicken and broccoli leaned a little heavy on the garlic but was still enjoyable. Steak tips looked solid, and the fish and chips were another strong dish. Prices were a bit on the higher side, but for the amount of food and variety, it felt reasonable overall. In the end, not a bad spot at all for a suburban restaurant. A few minor misses, but plenty of positives. Definitely a place worth coming back to.
